Hamburger/cheeseburger was delicious! I'm a french fry kind of person and I thought the fries were very mediocre - tasted how they'd taste if I bought a bag of frozen fries from Walmart and fried them in some oil on my stove. Bland.
There isn't a whole lot of competition around the Naturita/Norwood area so I'm sure if I'm back in the area I will return.
Price for the cheeseburger/fries/soda plus an additional burger was $22.

Last summer when we traveled to my hometown of Cortez, Colorado, we decided to take an off-the-beaten path through the Gateway Canyon, south of Grand Junction. I had previously driven the first part of the trip on Highway 141, from Clifton to Gateway, but I was blown away with the landscape even further south! It is some of the most interesting and serene parts of Southwest Colorado!
Around lunch time we ended up in Naturita (population 546). This area of Nucla and Naturita has an amazing history, but I won't bore you with it with here. We stopped at a classic greasy spoon diner, Blondie's, for lunch.
You could tell that this restaurant was the epicenter of town from the number of patrons. I enjoyed my green chile cheeseburger and tater tots, and Bob liked his special of the day, brisket sandwich.
The decor was 1950s Americana. There were even fun murals in the restrooms, and an arcade off the dining room.
It's not completely clear when you go in that you should go up and order at the register. We sat at our booth for a few minutes before we figured that out.
There was a "For Sale" sign on the outside of the restaurant; I hope that this kind of American experience doesn't leave this community.

Staying in the hotel up the street, they said it was the only place open this time of year. Clean tables a friendly staff. Food was good and portions were average for the price you pay. Lots of menu options to choose from, menu it up on the wall above where you order. After you order they will call your number and bring it to your table. They close fairly early (7PM) this time of year (November) so plan ahead.

We make a point to stop for the milkshakes when we're in Naturita. The burgers aren't bad either. The decor is from the heart - Elvis, Marilyn, chrome and hot rods have been on the walls as long as I can remember, spruced up and with added seating in the 'recent' remodel.

There are only two eating establishments now in Naturita. This one appears to offer the greatest variety. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner (until 8PM). It is within easy walking distance of the only lodge in Naturita. Food and service were fine (although it is not exactly "fine dining".

Fairly large menu, with burgers & pizza. The food we had was pretty good, bit a bit pricey. Of course you must consider that Naturita is in the middle of nowhere. Two FOR SALE signs in the front windows. Since Agave Azul is gone, Blondies is the only place in town to get a bite for lunch.

We were staying in Norwood which is about 30 min from here. There are very few places within 1 hr of here, to eat so we were happy to find this place.
We both had cheeseburger/fries and soda. Arriving just before noon the place was still pretty empty and service was fast and friendly.
The portions were large and delicious and filled us up. About $25 total for 2 people.
My husband and I used the restrooms and found them both to be very clean.
Easy to find as it's on the "main drag" of this very small town - there is a Family Dollar Store just across the street.
If we are ever in this area again, we will plan on stopping here!

Good little burger place. I don’t think they have pizza anymore- not on the menu anyway.
Counter service, they usually bring the food out to you.

The food is terrible, very poor quality and ridiculously expensive. The fish sandwich was gross, my Pepsi was all ice, the jalapeño poppers had no taste and the french fries were undercooked!! Buy some snacks at the Family Dollar across the street and save yourself some deep fried indigestion!! The owners are totally unfriendly and the experience was poor, at best!!

We love eating here. The food is fresh and diner is clean. The kids enjoy the game room and Hamburgers. This is a great casual all American Diner.

My wife and I drove though Naturita, CO, around 1.00pm and doubted that we would find more that snack food for lunch. We spotted Blondies Drive-in and couldn't believe our good fortune. The proprietor recommended the smoked brisket sandwich (the daily special) and we both ordered one with fries and a Pepsi. They were absolutely delicious. The staff were very pleasant, the place was clean and new-looking and the service was fast. The '50's art-deco interior was beautiful. Can't say enough good about the place.

We stopped at Blondie's to enjoy some ice cream and use the restroom. Great stop! Don't forget to stop here if you are travelling through.
