I was anxious to try the restaurant. It was OK. That's really about it. I tried both the pulled pork and the brisket. The pulled pork was the winner between the two. The brisket, like most I've tried in the Colorado Springs area, leans to...the dry side, and there was little of the smokey taste I love. The bark was the best part, but the center sections were dry. I will go back because I want to try the ribs, pulled chicken (something new to me), and the linebacker sandwich. I think I'll pass on the brisket, though. My disappointment with brisket is an ongoing theme in CS BBQ joints, so it is not just at Broken Bones. Maybe I've just been spoiled by KC, Texas, and Cali BBQ.More

We've had take out many times but today's brisket was half fat served in a puddle of fat. Normally everthing is good. I chalk it up to poor quality control that I've seen from time to time.

Since we still cannot eat in, the take out BBQ at Broken Bones was great. I had the pork sandwich and beans, and my wife had the two-meat plate with sweet potato fries. It was highly recommended by the Rocky Mountain Barber Shop, and lived...up to its reputation!More

This small barbecue spot is hidden away in a strip mall across the street from McDonald's. They serve different kinds of barbecued meats, a nice selection of sides, and desserts. I had the Burnt Ends open-face sandwich and hot tots, which I'd never heard of...before. They are potato balls lightly fried with small pieces of hot green peppers inside. The Burnt Ends sandwich is not on their online menu but perhaps they don't have it all the time. I would definitely order it again, as this what I like best in barbecue. The decor is minimalist, the dining area is clean, and service was fast. I drive through Monument frequently on Hwy 105 and had never noticed this place. I'd certainly stop again. Might consider getting a pound of something to take home, too.More

Broken Bones is just plain old vanilla average. Nothing compared to the smoked meat you get in TN, KS, TX, or LA. IMO overpriced. I have a RecTec smoker at home and am able to cook much better meat.

Went in tonight and ordered 2 pulled pork sandwiches, a pulled pork plate, and ribs.....The pork was slimy and greasy mixed in with fat and gristle.....The ribs were so tough they couldn't be eaten!....Onion Rings and french fries were cold and the beans had something...that couldn't be identified.....The whole meal went in the trash and we went for Mexican food......Beware, you have been warned!!More

It’s not to my liking. Too Smokey with the extreme smoker taste. Sauce choices were not what I prefer. I’m pretty objective knowing it will fit some palates just fine. So give it a go and see if it fits your taste buds. Thought the...quality of meat was average to above average. Thus 3 stars as It’s not my preference.More

Excellent neighborhood place worth going a bit out of your way for. We visited after a grandson's hockey game and were pleasantly surprised. Excellent fall apart brisket and very tasty burnt ends. The cole slaw and baked beans were above average. Very friendly staff. The...store is located in a strip mall which is behind the Village Inn.More

Good, but nothing to go out of your way for. Pulled pork was most, ribs were super dry, and the okra was good, but the sauces are all super sweet with a vinegar taste. If you are looking for KC style, skip this place. Nice...staff, quick service, and good prices.More

KC guy here so i'm a bit of a BBQ snob. This place is good, many sauces to choose from. Service is pretty quick. Only bad thing is it's kind of hard to find, tucked back in a strip mall off of hwy 105.
