I stopped in for lunch and was the sole customer. They were in no hurry to serve me. I ordered the Chicken Masala, low spice level, and felt it bland and failed to reach me. Given I was hungry, I was disappointed for them as...I was searching for a local Indian restaurant in the area when I travel through (often). My reasons are for low sodium and low fat meals when I’m traveling now.More

Slow service. It seems only one person was working. The tables in the dining room were full of dirty dishes. The bathroom needed a good cleaning Review of the food. Generous portions The garlic Naan was burned on the bottom. The plain Naan was delicious....The MoMo dumplings didn’t have much flavor. The Paneerr Saag was great. The chicken biryani was tasty. The mango lassi was the high point.More

Oh this food is so good, very authentic! This is a must-try while in Montrose, CO. I suggest you go very hungry. As other reviews mentioned, the cheese naan and garlic naan are excellent with your meal. We had the appetizer Chicken Pakora; delicious! We...enjoyed the entrees of Chicken Masala and Chicken Biryani. Incredible! Service was timely and excellent, prices are fair.More

The meal I had was seasoned with just salt and pepper. It did not meet my expectations--the variety of wonderful flavors that Indian and Himalayan food is known for.

Let me start with the food was amazing!!!! Service on the other hand was not that great. He acted as if he did not want to be there and it was quite warm in the place. We waited for our Naan way after our meal...was served and I was almost thinking that they had forgot it. But back to the food, it was amazing and that is what is carrying this review. I could nor believe the flavors in the food and the portions were incredible and fed me for a few days. Enjoy the food but don't expect much on the staff side.More

Montrose has outstanding Himalayan/Indian food. I don’t know how it happened, but the locals ( and visitors) should be thankful that it did. Our reference for Himalayan Indian food is Himalayan Grill in Flagstaff. We love it and go there every chance we get. Himalayan...Pun Hill Kitchen’s version is a little different from Himalayan Grill’s version, but it is equally excellent. We had a great late lunch that included dumplings, chow chow, chicken masala, chicken Korma, saag paneer and garlic Naan. Everyone gave the meal an enthusiastic thumbs up. There was one gentleman who handled the door, the register and waiting on all of the tables. He did a better job than all of the multi person waitstaffs we have encountered on our 5 week summer driving trip. When I was paying for our meal, I asked him who was in the back cooking. His response - my mom and dad. Immediately Himalayan Pun Hill Kitchen became my new favorite restaurant. Don’t miss it when in Montrose.More

True authentic Nepalese and Indian food. Very good fresh naan. Not the greatest atmosphere, but if you love Asian food, then this is the place in town.

Get ready for some spice!! The food was good, and very spicy. We should have asked the kind waiter for some help in choosing. The passing drink helped cool.the palate. It was delicious. Naan bread was excellent. Good service, friendly waiter.

My wife and I went here because we were looking for a smaller restaurant to try and this one blew us away! I got the chicken Masala and my wife got the chicken curry, along with some of their garlic naan. The food was absolutely...incredible. We had great portions and left the spot feeling full of some of the best South Asian food I’ve had. The service was very fast and our waiter was very helpful when it came time for us to choose our entrees. We will definitely be going here again the next time we’re in Montrose!More

Don't let the building exterior turn you off, the food is excellent and there is plenty of seating available. When I'm in the mood for real dumplings, this is the place I'll go when on the Western Slope.

We were too tired when we got into town to go anywhere, so we ordered to go. This is incredibly delicious food with really nice service. The only problem was I forgot to ask for silverware and we’re staying in a motel. But everything from...the vindaloo to the Tse phing to the veggie chow chow was perfect. We even had nice Indian be to wash it down. Portions are very generous!More

This is a tiny “hole in the wall” kind of place right on the highway with exceptionally good food. There’s only 20 tables at most and it’s cozy. The chicken biryani is the best I’ve ever had. Very nice servers.

We were excited to try this restaurant after reading the reviews. It was the best food in town…chicken Marsala, chicken Curry and traditional naan. Sooo good. Don’t let the outside small box restaurant fool you from the outside. The chef was a delight!

You can get a burger anywhere. You cannot get this cuisine, this good anywhere but here. Not much to look at from the outside, but your tastebuds will thank you for going in. Order the Naan to soak up that lamb vindaloo or curry or...just wrap it around chicken sekuwa. It is a culinary win-win.More
