Went back and had a great meal, drinks were outstanding like always. Prior visit was disappointing, but everyone has an off night.

Loved the Brussels sprouts (of all things) on the starter menu. Flatiron steak with chimmichurri (sorry if I am spelling it wrong) and the meatball dish were the hit at the table. Fun drink menu (loved my jele bean) Strong waitstaff. Open air to sidewalk seating, though we chose to eat inside.

I just moved to Louisville and was excited to try The Empire. My 22 year-old daughter ordered a burger and I ordered the tuna burger. No exaggeration - we waited 30 minutes or more to get our entrees. Our waiter never explained the wait nor apologized. My daughter took a bite of her burger and stopped mid-chew. She spit it... I ordered the Duck Enchiladas, expecting the duck to be shredded in the Enchiladas - sounds interesting right? Well, it didn't come that way. The duck came sliced and on the side of the goat cheese filled enchiladas. The duck was amazingly delicious and the best I ever had, perfectly medium rare and so incredibly tender. The enchiladas were good... More

I went for a business meeting with about 25 people. They had a preselected menu with a few choices -- all were good. I had pork chops. Others had hamburgers and a vegetarian meal. Everyone was happy with the food. There appeared to be enough waiters to help everyone -- but they would go away for long stretches at times... More

This is my second time at the Empire Lounge and Restaurant but the first for my family. We were in the Louisville area for the birth of our first granddaughter. After our visit we all went to the Empire for dinner. I suggested this because I had really enjoyed it on my first visit but they had run out of... More

...Of greatness. My wife & I use to take bets on how the food & service would be, Lousy, Meh, or Terrific. We don't seem to do that anymore because the food & the service have really taken notable, positive strides towards consistency. Now our only concern is if we can get a seat at the bar for inspired cocktails... More

Comfortable fifties ambiance with great comfort food. I had a pot roast to die for and my wife had baked chicks cooked in bacon drippings. Everything is reasonably priced and lots of selection of food, beers and wines. Parking was on the street but plentiful. Service was down right fun! Engaging waitress but not overbearing. We will return when we... More

This place is so tasty. The kale salad, the tuna and the choices on the menu are all delicious. Wait staff are fun and attentive. The full bar makes creative drinks.
