Went there for a late lunch. Took a while to get waitress attention and then she acted bored or tired. No other customers - she was sitting in a booth talking to someone. We just had the pupu appetizer which was small and might have...been reheated in the microwave. Had 2 very dried out -really dry' ribs, 2 greasy egg rolls and a couple of unremarkable foil wrapped chicken. I stopped eating then, I don't know if this place serves 2 of each item on this platter if its ordered by 2 customers. or if servings are just small. Tea was hot but flavorless. Like hot water. There was no flavor and sure no care in this lunch. I am not usually picky but this was just no good.More

We tried the restaurant with some trepidation as some reviews said the service was questionable. The place is small, barely more than a hole in the mall wall but it is pleasantly decorated and very clean. Our waitress was very attentive and our appetizer and...meals appeared promptly. Water glasses were refilled regularly and adjacent tables and booths were cleared promptly. Even though it was midweek the restaurant was quite busy, perhaps three quarters full. Numerous people came in for takeout. Most if not all of them appeared to have placed their orders by phone which was good because there was virtually no place for them to wait for an order. The food was excellent. Nicely prepared and presented. Generous servings but not overwhelmingly so. It has definitely gone to the top of my list of local Chinese restaurants and, for its size, would compare favorably with any of the restaurants I ate at in China during three months I lived there. We will definitely be back again but will avoid weekends when it is likely to be crowded.More

I’m new to the area and was looking for a decent Chinese place for the occasional lunch. Reviews were mixed but I thought I would try it. I arrived just as they opened one morning. I was seen by staff when I walked in, and...when no one moved to seat me, I seated myself. The atmosphere is typical, local Chinese place. My server did show up and gave me basic service. A couple locals came in and seemed to receive a bit more enthusiastic welcome than I did. The lunch menu offered a lot of choices, and were served with Crab Wonton, Egg Roll and Soup. Non-noodle dishes also offer the choice of white or brown rice. I chose the Shrimp Udon. There’s nothing special about the atmosphere but nothing wrong with it. The sides arrived quick enough and the main dish followed. Portion size was decent, not large. But, it was definitely sufficient. The meal includes shrimp, cabbage, carrots and a rich sauce over Udon Noodles. It was a touch heavy and could have used something to lift it, but was fine overall. Price was average for a strip mall Chinese place. I loved the Udon Noodles and might try a different option next visit. While not amazing, I will return in the future unless I find another local option that can top the quality. This is more convenience when there’s an urge for Chinese.More

61 reviews Share review Embed review Edit review 12/4/2017 Updated review I will never go to this place again. Never. It's not because the food isn't delicious, but it's because the owner (Tai) is extremely inconsiderate of his very regular customers. Very regular, as in...eating there once a week if not more. Some guy came in during lunchtime and proceeded to loudly (LOUDLY)  tell Tai about his latest kill - an 800-lb elk. Tai sat down close to him to look at the photos. I slammed my hand on the table and Tai briefly looked up at me, then returned his gaze to the slaughtered animal. I got up and walked out, but came back a few minutes later, thinking I could enjoy my lunch. No such luck. The guy was still rambling and Tai was still drooling over the photos. I gave him the finger using both hands, then told Tai I was leaving. He had no consideration whatsoever for his customers. He could have told the guy to lower his voice or that he didn't have time to look at the pictures. Nope. All he cared about was seeing these photos. I did not pay for my meal.More

The restaurant was very clean and the staff was efficient and friendly. The food was rather bland and the hot and sour soup was room temperature. I seldom use soy sauce on my entree, but the food was not spicy and needed a boost.

This is an excellent Chinese restaurant. This is my 3rd visit plus we ordered delivery once. Food is really authentic and delicious. After Marvin sold Yen King, the quality went down hill. This Coalmine Dragon is our replacement. Always good.

We have been eating at Coal Mine Dragon for about a year now. I really like their lunch prices and taste. I like that they include an egg roll and soup in the price of their lunch. We have had their lunch there for about...a year and the food has always been good and fresh. We have only done take out do far.More

I loved this restaurant! Staff is very helpful and service was timely. The food here is hard to beat. I had the wonton soup, excellent. The pad thai was the best I've ever had. Prices were more than reasonable, I will be back next time...I'm in town!More

I have not eaten here in a few months but the food is good and convenient to the Hampton Inn and Homewood suites, and is a good alternative when you just don't feel like making a production out of dinner. The atmosphere is nice and...the prices are reasonable.More
