Was anxious to try the sopapillas so went here. Chips were a bit stale, salsa ok. got the special shrimp sopapillas and it was just ok, Also a combination plate which was average. large portions if that is important. All in all, nothing special.

I had previously reviewed The Grill at 4 stars but have to rescind. The Grill used to be one of my favorite places but they have really gone down hill. I have not enjoyed my meal the last several times I've been there. I keep hoping they'll step it up, that I've caught them on an "off" night, but that... More

The green chile was very good on the tamales. Older place but good service and decent food for the money. We had the margarita's which were very good and I'd go back just for that. The waiters were very attentive and helpful.

Gets real busy at dinner, if you arrive early the service is great, but it can get crowded and they do serve large groups. The food is great, we always eat here when visiting Leadville. It's not fancy, somewhat dated tables and booths. It's hard to find, as it is not on the main road.

After summiting one of CO's famed fourteeners earlier that day, we were famished. I ordered the chili verde; when it arrived, I assumed they'd mistakenly sent up the vegetarian chili--the meat wasn't even visible! Vigorous "stirring" of the chili revealed tiny--no exaggeration: literally, half-inch by eighth-inch--baby strings of, uh, meat?? Without exception, it was by far the WORST chili verde... More

This restaurant has been open in Leadville for many decades and it looks like it, so don't go there for the ambiance. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient. You do only get one small bowl of salsa, which was actually quite good, and one small basket of chips. The food was served quickly, so that didn't become an... More

Expect to be nickle and dime to deaf! Only 1 serving of chips and salsa anymore cost more. Green chili was $2 extra and rice and beans were $2 extra. Geez! So made everything kinda pricee! The food wasn't anything to brag about.....

Overall decent food and service. A "local" place. Mexican and American food. Margaritas were very tasty after a day on the trail.

Probably not a lot of great Mexican food places in the area. They cook the food on the plate so it takes a while, especially in a big group. And they won't do separate checks, but will accept multiple payments, so once again if you are there in a big group, you have to split everything up, including tax and... More
