Got a takeout order and it was more than enough for a family, let alone two people! It was a lot more food than I've gotten in one order.

Chinese Gourmet is an obscure, hidden gem. I stumbled on this restaurant quite accidentally when scrolling through a list of Chinese restaurants on my vehicle GPS. Although I arrived past three in the afternoon, I was allowed to order from the lunch menu, unusual in any restaurant from my experience. I chose Happy Family and was amazed by the huge platter of great-tasting variety of meats and vegetables in a mild brown sauce. I thought the sauce and presentation was extraordinarily exceptional, neither excessively spicy nor sweet, but rich with flavors. I was surprised by the great amount of food offered for less than eight dollars. Shocking, superlative goodness and wonderful service by two staff members. Chinese Gourmet is a quiet, unassuming hide-away that should be stacked with customers like salmon swarming a fish hatchery in July. Despite its spectacular food value, I was the only seated customer, although the carry-out desk was kept busy. Get smart if you are shopping in Lakewood: drive a few blocks to this little strip mall east of Colorado Mills.

Ordered five or six entrees and an appetizer. Just because we ordered so much, they doubled our crab wonton appetizer. Good start. Everything prepared fresh. Very flavorful. And HUGE portions! Would certainly recommend!

I've been going to this restaurant for years. I live out of state now and still return for visits. Delicious! Happy Family, garlic triple delight, sesame chicken, fried cream cheese wonton, and tsing Tao beer.
Nice desert on the house-an orange, peeled and sliced and what seemed to be a mango tira missou Delicious.
Closed Tuesdays.
Open for lunch and dinner until 8 pm.
Hidden in a strip mall behind King Soopers; across the street from the fire station.
You won't regret it.

If you want to feel humiliated over food, this is the place you should go! The female waitress taught me how to spell " Chow mein " before saying slurs in chinese and treating me like trash! Very poor service, I will never ever go to this place!!!

Not sure why no one can open a good Chinese/Thai restuarant on the west side of town that delivers food. Another mediocre place like so many others. The demographics of Lakewood and Wheat Ridge are changing, can someone open a good delivery place?????

Went here based on other website rave revues. Apparently, this place has been in business at least 15 yr. Why?, Really good Chinese food! The fried dumplings were great. Egg rolls and hot mustard were very good. Wife liked her egg drop soup and the wonton soup was also great. My son liked his sesame chicken and my twice cooked pork was the best I've had. My wife just thought her cashew chicken was OK.
Staff is friendly and a little overwhelmed, but they are probably also family. This is in a little space in a strip mall, and there is no atmosphere to speak of. I'd go back unless someone raved about another Chinese place that I'd "just have to try."

Chinese Gourmet is in a strip-mall in western Lakewood, not far from my office I like the more highly spiced dishes, and they do them well. People who like the milder preparations seem happy, too. Portions are large and prices are low. Skip their feeble attempt to cook Thai food. There are plenty of good Thai restaurants in the vicinity.

We ate there last week and the sesame chicken compares with PF Changs. They have a new Thai menu that is awesome! We don't have many good restaurants in our area and it is a nice find!
