We had good steak dinners here to celebrate our last night in the area. The restaurant and atmosphere was nice and our waitress was super. My scalloped potato dish was cold. Our steaks were good but order 'up' from what you want med rare=medium at least. The big problem here are the prices. The steaks are really unusually expensive, especially... More

My review is a follow-up to the one following our visit on July 2nd 2016. This evening was a birthday celebration, and there was no disappointment in the meal or the service. Our server was Aislynne, and she was first-rate. I'm sure Dave Rodriguez appreciates her good work. I had the Kansas City steak, preceded by a very good French... More

We have had dinner here many times, and have never had anything but a great meal. Tonight's menu featured a tasty cauliflower/bacon soup along with a generous ribeye with homemade béarnaise sauce. Desserts are always delightful, and the wine list by-the-glass is ample. The cozy, atmospheric ambiance features cowboy and country tunes from the country's best vocalists, and Bev Doolittle... In Denver on business and visiting a friend in Evergreen. I remembered that when Dave Rodriguez ran Keys on the Green it was great, so to the Black Cattle we went. We just wanted a light meal. I do not eat meat and found many nice sections to choose from. Calamari and grilled artichoke were great. The wine selection was... More

Dave knows how to age beef. Dave knows how to make appetizers. Dave has great fish selections. (Especially lobster and trout). Everyone (10) was pleased. Only child got his favorite, Mac and Cheese. Worth the picturesque drive.

This was my first trip to Colorado and I was very impressed with the state it self. We came across Black Hat and I was dying to try Elk. My husband ordered the Elk and I ordered the surf and turf, both Medium rare. The elk was roughly 45$ and surf and turf was 59$. No soup or salad option.... More

We dined here the other evening after completing a nice hike in the area. We were seated by a window, which was lovely, and were able to watch the bikers go by. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual, which is also nice. One of us had steak and one had salmon. The steak was perfectly good and very flavorful. The... More

Saturday, July 2nd 2016 was our third visit to BHCC, and it was superb, as usual. The steaks were excellent--perfectly prepared--and our server was better than the last time here. Don't know her name, but my son said she was "beautiful," and I have to agree. She knew exactly how to keep track of our table without being overly "present."... More

And so we did. The Black Hat had all the Cowboy trappings from Buffalo and Deer heads mounted on the wall to great paintings and western memorabilia everywhere. The food was outstanding - There were six of us for dinner and everyone raved about their dishes. My daughter said it was the best burger she ever had. My son and... More

First off the restaurant is very nice and the staff was very attentive. I ordered the mixed grill. The shrimp was just right. However, the salmon was very dry. The filet was over salted and I had asked for it to be cooked medium rare. The strange thing was that it was medium rare on one end and as I... More
