We've been here several times over the last 25 years or so. My husband and I were even married at The Outpost 18 years ago so we've got plenty of history here. It's been about 10 years since our last visit - after reading reviews I was a little nervous to plunk down a chunk of change here for dinner.... More

Now we are out over $350 for a family of 4 and very disappointed. The portions are so small. For the chocolate fondue they give you 4 of everything. 4 strawberries. 4 marshmallows. 4 pretzels, etc.... we had lots of chocolate left but couldn't get anymore to dip. Service was horrible. All the servers were chatting it up with the... More

True Bavarian / Swiss experience going through 2 gondolas to this amazing location on the North Peak. Excellent ambience, very accommodating staff. Kids and Adults alike enjoyed the whole experience. Excellent choice of wines and Hot Apple Cider for kids. We have had Vegetarian options for Fondue and Raclette before and these guys definitely came through! For the cheese, we... More

Excellent service and cozy area. The food was good and a very different experience from regular dinner. Our only complain was that coats were left at front for storage but weren't in a heat area and when received them were so cold that needed to go inside the restaurant again and placed them near firplace to heat before leaving. Outside... More

We have been coming here for 15 years, and each year it goes down in quality. This year it was not enough cheese in our pot and not enough chocolate in the pot. They marinate the meat now, yuck. The plate of dippings for the cheese and chocolate paltry. The band played for only the first hour then disappeared .... More

We went for dinner on Christmas Eve with our teenage daughters and had a lovely time. The gondola rides up to the North Peak was an experience in itself (with blankets to keep us warm - what a lovely touch) and the food was very good. The chocolate fondue served with berries and mini doughnuts to dip in was especially... More

The cheese fondue and dessert fondue were excellent. Service was slow in terms of refills and getting drinks. The chicken and beef were of marginal quality and for $65/person you expect more.

This is a fun experience-quite pricey, and just ok food, but a lot of fun to do with friends or family. If you come in the winter, do wear warm clothing, boots or shoes with good soles, and be prepared for an awesome experience!

Our family had a great time at Der Fondue Chessel. Not a big fan of fondue, but this was really good. First course - Caesar Salad, second course - melted cheese that you can dip bread, fruit or vegetables into, third course - beef and chicken that you grill on your table , fourth course - melted chocolate that you... This was my family's first fondue experience so it had novelty appeal as well as Location perfection! This restaurant is not cheap by any means, but it is an experience. To get here you get on a special Gondola with your own blanket! Nice touch. The restaurant is located on the summit and is really beautiful. The seating is family... More
