Wow! So much fun for couples, friends, or families! Camping, orchards and gardens, ponds for camping and picnicking, swings like no others, and great food and cider! The owners really love their land and developing it for everyone’s enjoyment, for sure! Don’t miss this stop!
I reside in the area and my family was here visiting so I thought I would take them some where unique. They loved it and they are city folk. it's not a fancy sit down service restaurant but more of help yourself which they really...enjoyed. You can sit inside or outside and the eats are not bad at all. Nice selection, barbecue with cider beer a hit with the fam. Live band entertains in the evening. This is a great place for families. A ton of things for kids to do. I would recommend this place to even the most stuffiest person. It will certainly liven them up.More
This place has good and bad. It reminds me of a hippie restaurant and food store from the 70’s. Often lots of flies, lackadaisical service, hard to read menu on the wall and strange menu selections. They say they are vegetarian friendly, but sandwiches were...almost all meat. The usual veggie burger for example, plus some salads and a veggie burrito.
I had a veggie burrito and it was sort of ok and there was lots of it. The next morning I had food poisoning and it got worse by late morning. I couldn’t eat until late in the evening and had hours of rapid trips to the toilet for dry heaves. This was the only food I had that my wife didn’t have all day and could be the only suspect. My guess is the veggie chili that the burrito was loaded with had spoiled because it wasn’t ordered too often and they make too much of it at once. The county’s health department does not enforce things, so Delta County is not always a safe place to eat.
This is a funky place with pretty good apple cider and veggies for sale. They are involved in the community. My wife liked her pork burger and fries, but she didn’t get sick. But I have been there many times when visiting friends in the area and never cared for the food. It does not seem to be too clean and in some respects reminds me of Boulder’s Carnival Cafe back in the ‘70’s where the staff was so stoned it took two or three times as long to get anything. Prices are high for what they serve. They try to be a community resource, but got to look to themselves when it comes to running a restaurant. The North Fork Valley is not known for good restaurants, so bring food or keep driving.More
We were on our way through Paonia CO when we saw this place on the way to Hotchkiss. It looked packed and we decided to stop by. We were in around 2:30 for a late lunch and had to wait a long time to even...order. I don’t know if they were short staffed because the market side had two cashiers that were working and the gal at the bar had to work two cashier positions running back and forth. The cider they had on tap was ok and the food was good, but not the best quality. The bathroom also could’ve been cleaner. Maybe we caught this place on an off day but I would hesitate to go back.More
Happen to drive up for a quick bite. It had such a great vibe with a live band. Small farm market, Pick your own orchard, Bar, outside seating area to chill(swing includes), great play area for kids. So unexpected, but exactly what i wanted to...enjoy the area!More
We recently had an early dinner at Big B's and enjoyed it very much. I had the Pork Tamales and my husband had the Burrito and both were great. Very good amount of food. They have a store where you can buy fresh produce, camp...and swings. The only thing we didn't like were the flies inside.More
We began our day westbound on I70 only to have a mud slide cut off the road. We started a 200 mile detour along a pleasant road only to be cut off again by a rock slide that took an hour to clear. It was...getting late and in this part of Colorado, places to eat are hard to find and they close early....
What a find to see Delicious Orchards still open. This place is part wine bar, campground, farm, cider press bar, gift shop and lucky for us a deli type place. We ordered the Rubens and fries. Very good. My wife had a locally produced cider. No commercial soft drinks are served - but the water sure tasted great.
You might see a place like this in rural Vermont - run by casual 30 somethings. Bathroom outside around the back. A bit eclectic. Vibe is good. Lots of outdoor tables and play things for kids. They were setting up a corn hole toss as we left.
We would definitely stop again.More
Had dinner here when so many other places were closed (on a Thursday night), and it didn't disappoint. Ate indoors as it was loud outside and while the food and service was awesome, I felt like I was transplanted suddenly to Nederland, CO while swaying...with the other "locals" outside. Best to eat indoors if that's not your thing.More
