One of my friends had eaten here before. We went for an early appetizer-dinner. AMAZING food! We shared a cold cherry soup, rillette (lentil/mushroom/walnut), chile relleno stuffed with lamb, local grilled vegetables, and a galette/tart with lavender-ricotta cheese and a small salad of mixed greens. EXCELLENT! And a vanilla-lavender creme brulee for dessert! I haven't had this outstanding a meal... More

We had a gift certificate from a client and went early on a Friday night without a reservation. We were lucky to be one of the first seated as boy did this place start filling up around 6:00. Food was fantastic and service top drawer. My wife had the special fish offering and I had the shrimp on squid ink... More

The food is very original and always delicious. Service is excellent as is the charming atmosphere. There is a wide variety of wines to choose from. The best hamburgers and salads in town.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at 626 and had a great experience. Our server was attentive and helpful in suggesting her favorite dishes and wines. The food was unique and beautifully presented. Overall, a perfect evening.

Excellent bar service, table service and food. Lamb chops were excellent. Best part of evening were waitress, Evelyn, and bar tender, Laurie. Very personable and engaging. A really fun dinner.

This is the second restaurant we tried on the same night. I'm so glad we left the first one the atmosphere was good. The wait staff and bartender were as good as it gets. The food was exceptional oysters, pork belly, lamb chops and pork loin are all worth going back for. This was a great find for a tired... More

Went there to give my sister a big treat and they really did a good job. Worked our way through Pom Manhattans, #3 & #7 flights of wine, oysters several ways, squid ink pasta, Pork belly, smoked duck salad, rack of lamb, Lamb Barbacoa, and were to full for dessert. Cost $232 for four. All was really great.

First of all let me comment on how hard it is to run a successful upscale restaurant in a city like Grand Junction. I have lived in GJ since 2001 and have seen quite a few restaurants fail due to lack of consistent service and food quality. Congrats to 626 for serving a consistently good, high end meal. The service... More

My husband and I had spent the day with daughter and grandchildren and convinced her to get a babysitter so we could enjoy a relaxing evening. We made a good choice with 626 on Rood. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the martinis with blue cheese olives and wine and ordered several appetizers--each better than the last. It was... More

Gran Junction is fortunate to have 2 great restaurants, better than any in most cities ten times larger. Rood 626 is in a quiet street in the historic district, it is relatively small, comfortable but simple and unpretentious. The food is superb, with fresh fish flown daily from Honolulu, oysters from the west coast and the meat and greens supplied... More
