First, I feel guilty for not writing this earlier. I have been dining at 626 on Rood for many years and seen some changes over time and I think they have all made it one of my favorite restaurants in the world. I lived in Portland and still visit frequently but this restaurant is on par with anything I have... More

My wife and I decided to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary at home, with few bells and whistles. However, we did want to enjoy a nice quiet dinner with each other and some friends and family had suggested 626 on Rood. I talked to them to ensure they could provide for my wife's vegan meal, and they more than agreed.... More

My wife and I were on our way back to California from Southern Colorado and stopped at 626 in Grand Junction for dinner because they were ranked well on Trip Advisor. We had the most amazing dining experience we've had in a long time. The menu is largely farm to table fare featuring local Colorado meats and produce. We asked... More

Girlfriend and I went here for a very late lunch and it was perfect for what we wanted. We opted for the drinks and appetizers approach. She had a Pinot flight that she said was wonderful and all had unique tastes. I had a crisp cider that was fantastic. For food we went oysters on the half shell taking three... More

We celebrated our anniversary at 626 on Rood. It was a wonderful meal with delicious entrees, wine flights and a lemon lavender creme brûlée for dessert. Service was attentive but not overly so. A delightful evening.

The food was inventive, exciting and absolutely delicious. We had the yellow tail tartar (fresh, not frozen) with house-made potato chips, the Colorado Cobb salad, and the heirloom tomato salad (so sweet, they were like candy). As dinner was exceptional, we indulged in the fresh peach napoleon, which was a complete home run (mint syrup? Yeah, it totally worked!). Even... More

One of my friends had eaten here before. We went for an early appetizer-dinner. AMAZING food! We shared a cold cherry soup, rillette (lentil/mushroom/walnut), chile relleno stuffed with lamb, local grilled vegetables, and a galette/tart with lavender-ricotta cheese and a small salad of mixed greens. EXCELLENT! And a vanilla-lavender creme brulee for dessert! I haven't had this outstanding a meal... More

We had a gift certificate from a client and went early on a Friday night without a reservation. We were lucky to be one of the first seated as boy did this place start filling up around 6:00. Food was fantastic and service top drawer. My wife had the special fish offering and I had the shrimp on squid ink... More

The food is very original and always delicious. Service is excellent as is the charming atmosphere. There is a wide variety of wines to choose from. The best hamburgers and salads in town.
