I had eaten and Azteca's on OM in the past and thought it was fairly good. Yesterday I ordered take out based on their online menu. I ordered enchilada suiza which listed for $10.50 and included chicken and Montery jack cheese. I was charged $15.50...and there was no cheese at all. I have eaten these types of enchilada's in Grand Junction and in Mexico. They always have at least one cheese often two and cream. I called the Manager and made a complaint about the price and the description of what I received which was shredded chicken in a tortilla with no cheese and limited seasoning. He took my name and number and told me he would look into it but never called back. The worst Mexican food I have ever had.More
We are passing through town on vacation with another couple and stopped here for a late lunch. We found it on Trip advisor with good reviews. I had the Chicken Mole. Others got Tacos, Tostadas. All were terrific. Thick, crispy chips and a good sauce....This place is out on the south side of town. It's a well worth it. Nice staff. Good food.More
Best Mexican food in Colorado.
I read the glowing reviews on trip advisor and decided to try this local favorite while on business in Grand Junction. The food was excellent. I haven’t had Mexican food that good in years. I highly recommend the crispy Chile...Relleno. Delicious!More
We live in Grand Junction and my wife wanted Mexican for her birthday. We had been to another of their locations (since closed) but never to this one. The service was very good. My wife likes a good Margarita but most restaurant Margarita's use a...mix. We inquired and were told the ingredients used fresh squezed lime juice mix. It was reasonably priced at 8.00 and was very good. I had a chimicunga, enchilada and relleno and it was all excellent. My wife had a taco, enchilada and tostada and was pleased by it all and agrees that it is the best to be had in Grand Junction.
Was it perfect? Of course not. It seems to be the thing to have thin refried beans; I prefer mine a bit rougher and less consistent. If I recall the menu might have said that they were cholesterol free. If that is the case I'd prefer old school beans made with lard. Tha salsa served with the chips was thinner than I prefer. But then all the local restaurants around here serve a thins salsa so maybe it is what people prefer. I'll still give it five stars because everything else was excellent and the quantities were generous. Neither of us could finish everything on the plate.More
Heard a lot of good things about Aztecas so tried it when passing thru Grand Junction. Neighborhood a little dicey but the place was clean and cheery. Menu selection good, food and price OK and the service great. But, can’t say the sauce is authentic....When leaving the parking lot we drove around the building to leave and saw stacks of empty cardboard boxes by the back door that once held Tomato Soup. Really... is that authentic? Maybe so, but that surprised me.More
While in the Grand Junction area this is a restaurant you do not want to miss. The menu is extensive and the refried beans and red tomato sauce are exceptional. The wait staff is very friendly and the prices are very fair.
Excellent service and super nice staff. Food was pretty bland, no spice, salsa was more tomatoey than flavorful....kind of a disappointment. I love Mexican food and I’ve been to a lot of Mexican restaurants.
Looked up this restaurant on Trip Advisor and it had good reviews so we thought we would try it out. Food was good. Service was good. Food came out quick and hot. Looking for a good meal at a reasonable price check this place out.
