I always enjoy the Italian fare and cocktails here. Sadly their dry aged meat selections don’t live up to that threshold.

First time at Rare Italian and it is now our favorite place to eat out in Fort Collins. We went for a special birthday dinner and it was a wonderful evening. Steaks, salmon and Ragu pasta were all incredible. We started with Shrimp Bruchetta, and...a charcuterie plate and a nice bottle of wine. Service was great, atmosphere was so nice…..Can’t say enough good things about this place and we look forward to another visit soon!More
The Good - We were a party of 10 and our service was very, very good. My dinner was delicious and I think everyone in our party enjoyed theirs as well. Nice selection of wines; lots of options for glasses of wine. The Bad -...We were seated at a long table right in front of the kitchen which was probably the noisiest spot in the crowded restaurant. Made it very difficult to hear anyone that wasn't seated right next to you. Being seated at a round table away from the kitchen would have improved my personal experience significantly, raising my rating to 5 stars. The Ugly - Nothing.More
OMGOSH. Just lucked out, within walking distance of hotel, in a blizzard! Everything was wonderful & food delicious. Wine list is perfection. Wait staff are professional. Sound track is so retro and non intrusive hits from the 50s through 90s. Went both evenings we are...in Ft Collins because we couldn’t think of a reason to search for another restaurant. A RARE medium, well done! Bravo!More
We were seated and the table was uneven. The waiter fixed that. He did however forget to give us silverware and napkins. When we got our pasta it wasn’t hot. The pasta was hard and they make it in- house. I didn’t understand that. Also,...I felt that they pushed the steak and when we didn’t order that it was like we were forgotten. Just disappointed.More
The food and service are far beyond a 5 Star restaurant! Wonderful Shrimp Bruschetta. I can't wait to go back!!
Great experience. With a party of 6 we spent about two hours for dinner. We ordered the lobster ravioli, lasagna, risotto, and carbonara, all of which were exceptional. I recommend getting a salad before your meal as well. Highly recommend!
What a lovely evening we just had at Rare! Outstanding service from Emily! Excellent food, great atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back! Enjoyed the blistered tomato appetizer, steak salad and the Tajarin pasta. Everything was excellent! Grateful for Emily’s informed wine suggestions. Highly recommend!
Since moving to the area in December 2020 we have tried many restaurants (pandemics make it a little challenging to explore—“to go” being the primary option at most restaurants for awhile). We have eaten at Rare a couple of times, always with excellent service and...dining experience.More
The service was excellent, food preparation performed flawlessly and the atmosphere was inviting and comfortable. I was in the mood for good pasta and I wasn’t disappointed! Definitely will come back if I’m ever in town again.
I've been visiting RARE Italian before, during, and through the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic. They have always strived to make the situation as close to NORMAL as possible; Obviously tough for them. Now that most restrictions have been eased, I am glad to...report that RARE has not lost ANY of its sparkle! Dinner tonight was awesome! I started with their Summer Sweet Corn Zuppa. OMG! Before ordering I asked the staff if it was too sweet and they assured me it wasn't. They were right on! RARE's interpretation of this sweet corn soup is clean, beautiful, and cares deeply for the ingredients used. YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS; I know I will again. I followed the Zuppa with their delicate stuffed pasta. This was a subtle provision of walnuts, peas, ricotta, and delicate pasta, which enveloped the beautiful contents. Have this soon. All of the wines offered by Emily worked perfectly with each bite. Can't wait to have both of these items again.More
We had the most charming server, Caleb. He was informative and friendly. We also noticed other servers visiting with the customers. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was perfect. We will definitely be back!
From the moment we walked in we recognized this is a special place. Service was excellent. Great foodie options. Good wine list. This was our best meal in Colorado on this trip.
I expected more after hearing from a local friend how great it was. We went during the snowfall, the restaurant was empty, yet we were asked if we had a reservation . Service slow, waiter friendly, but he was also the bartender. We waited 30...min for an app and a pizza. The menu was not impressive. Italian choices were pretty average, So we got the pizza and an app because nothing popped off the menu. Restaurant ambience was nice, though.More
Love this place! Been here several times - it’s my go-to for Italian food in fort collins. Highly recommend the tagliatelle bolognese pasta.
