Good food, price and service. We didn't test the "bottomless" hashbrowns, but suspect it might be a nice option if you have a big appetite.

Well it used to be a patio and it was wonderful to be seated there. Today was a big disappointment as far as ambiance. The patio was not open to any outside influence. I may as well have asked for inside. Everything is enclosed even...the plastic drapes were down though it was a beautiful morning. The fans were going full bore so instead of hearing birds I heard the roar of fan blades. The food and service were still excellent, just not sure why we couldn't have some fresh air to go with itMore
Silver Grill Cafe is a must visit while in Ft Collins. It's only open from 7am to 2pm so you're limited to breakfast or lunch, but what a great menu. I went simple…2 eggs over easy with 7 grain toast and hash browns. My husband...had a Denver omelet with hash browns. His portion would have been large enough to feed both of us. They'll happily bring you more hash browns if you ask, however, the initial portion was so generous I don’t know how you could eat more. Make sure to save room for one of their homemade cinnamon rolls. Oh my…so delicious!More
Lovely place for a first time visitors! Staff, food, atmosphere, service deserves five stars!!!!!!! Will absolutely be back exclamation exclamation exclamation exclamation exclamation exclamation exclamation!!!
Our waitress, Barb, was delightful. Awesome big size Cinnamon rolls! I really enjoyed it, not overcooked and cooked perfectly. I also had the red, white, and blue. It was a perfect breakfast that did not make me feel super heavy, which I hate when I...feel that way when I eat breakfast. We met the owner, Alan. He talked to us about the history of the restaurant, super friendly! Highly recommend.More
Went for breakfast and it was perfect! Food was excellent and the atmosphere was great. Lots of light and very clean place. Our server Barb was fantastic. We met the owner and will definitely go back every chance we get. It's a must when in...Fort Collins!More
So if you expect friendly or attentive staff, avoid this place. Waiter checked on our table twice, the other two times he came to our table is when we called him over. We had stacks of glasses and empty water jugs and had to ask...for him to take it away from our table. We had a bus boy walk past our table and literally look in the other direction. The hostess at the front gave us terrible looks when we walked in, no emotion or happy to serve people along with the rest of the staff. Felt very unwanted here.More
John, I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. That is certainly not the way we want our guests to feel when they dine with us. Our staff is typically described as being warm and welcoming to all who come in. We have been in...More
We were visiting from out of state, and stumbled across the Silver Grill and were not disappointed. The hostess and waiter were both really pleasant and professional. Fast service, exceptional service, and good price. Server id was 4 Woods. We both had burgers with homemade...buns, and sat in the heated patio! We will definitely stop here again!More
We visited yesterday and were told there was a going to be a 45 minute wait for two, which was totally acceptable since we were going to a more popular restaurant on a Sunday Morning. But when we received the text to see the hostess...to be seated we walked up to let her know we were messaged and she just blankly stared at us and sighed and was like “can I help you!?” With a super snarky tone. When we told her we received a text to see the host she just started yelling at us and everyone around that if they received a text to line up to her left side instead of just asking us to step aside nicely. Other than your rude hostess we had a good time. Our server and the cashier were pleasant and the food was great. The host / hostess are the first people your restaurant guests encounter. She needs better training.More
Obviously times are tough for the service industry given the pandemic rebound and lack of workers. So of course we were understood that it would take an hour to seat us. It’s been awhile since I’d been in the restaurant but when I arrived I...was surprised to see many of the tables weren’t where they used to be, a covid capacity situation no doubt. So it was confusing that it took over 45 mins to be served any of our food. Our waitress didn’t even check in with us during that time to let us know the kitchen might be backed up or provide any status of our meal. It also would be understandable if the waitress was visibly working multiple tables, but several times she walked past our table without any particular table she was headed to. The topper of course is that after waiting so long the meal was really just lukewarm. It’s one thing if the kitchen was backed up and it was pushing out request left and right but it’s obvious our food had to have sat for awhile. At this point we hadn’t seen the waitress in at least 30 mins. Mind you, she wasn’t the person to drop off the food to the table. Quickly trying to eat our food to get out of there, about 15-20 mins went by before the waitress even came to check on us (after our meal was dropped off) to ask how the food was, or ask if we needed anything. All in all, disappointing experience. As I said, sympathetic to the service industry because of the lack of help, but this wasn’t that, this was laziness of the actual staff. It’s hard to justify going out to eat at silver grill given the poor service. Won’t be returning any time soon.More
Michael, I am so sorry to hear about your experience. It has been tough coming out of the pandemic but that is no excuse. I'm not quite sure what about our tables surprised you as we do have plenty of seating. We actually went through...More
I had eaten at the Silver Grill Cafe back in 2018. I made sure that on this trip that I was able to eat at the restaurant again, even though it took 25 minutes to get there. We ate breakfast at this restaurant on a recent visit. The food was excellent and the staff was terrific! There were large portions and it was cooked to perfection. We enjoyed sitting on the outside heated patio. It was snowing outside and we were warm...and cozy on the patio. Definitely try their famous cinnamon rolls!!!More
It's local, it has Fort Collins History and the VERY BEST thing you MUST order is the cinnamon roll TOAST--nowhere else in the country have I found it!
A dream lunch! Food was excellent and Sherrill served us and she's a class act! Professional and friendly and she was the magic sauce that made our experience over the top. No photo of the cinnamon roll since it vanished before I could take a...photo. Everything we ordered was great. I recommend The silver grill club sandwich and a bloody mary.More
