Very popular spot - be prepared to wait, which isn't so bad since they have a very pretty courtyard and excellent coffee shop next door. Breakfast food was tasty.

I know they serve other meals at the Brown Burro...but there's just something special about their breakfast/brunch lineup. The food is scrumptious. Maybe the 10,000 foot elevation has something to do with tastebud stimulation. While it seems unlikely, I'm guessing that these folks have found ways to make bacon, eggs, toast, sausage, and pancakes taste better than most other eateries.... More

Get the big $12 breakfast burrito, and you will not eat again until suppertime. And I guarantee you will be telling your friends about it, unless they are the superskinny anorexic-type. And you will be thinking about eating here for a long time. Trust me. Personal experience. Small modest restaurant in a modest mountain town serves up a bold breakfast... More

Stopped in on a road trip and followed a steady stream of locals to this location. It's a tiny room full of busy waitstaff and guests, but it's affordable, friendly, and presents a diverse menu selection. It appeared you could call ahead - a nice option for the locals they serve. Even though the Brown Burro is clearly a hotspot... More

Definitely try this cafe. It is obviously a favorite of locals. Very busy. Had to put our name on list to be seated on a Sunday. Also be sure and check their hours we arrived about 1:45. & they stop taking names at 2pm that day. But we're very friendly and delicious Mexican food. Be aware serving are large.

Fun place to stop for breakfast/lunch between Denver and Durango. Basic breakfast. Got the eggs just right. Staff is friendly and attentive. Iconic decor.

I visited this restaurant for breakfast. The staff were friendly, but the food stole the show. I had amazing biscuits and gravy. Would definitely recommend going out of your way to stop in for a bite to eat.

Has a small town feel. Great food and service. Nice place to stop and eat. Deserts (bigger selection) are next door at the coffee shop.

OK, there aren't a lot of choices in Fairplay, but this little cafe delivers. At 2:00pm on Sunday it was packed. We waited thirty minutes and shared a six place table with two local guys. We knew they were locals because they didn't have to wait and every waitress made over them. We ordered Burro Burgers and were treated with... More

I was in Fairplay for an outdoor class, and I arrived a day early. In my exploring, I came upon this place for lunch. I was hungry and it was crowded, a good sign. Despite the crowd, I was seating almost immediately at the counter, next to a nice guy who wanted to shoot the breeze. I had chicken fried... More
