Very attentive staff. Good was good and consistent. I prefer something with a bit more spice, but my family enjoyed everything. Wife had the steak (Tampico?) salad and really enjoyed. I had a soft Chile Relleno, smothered all was good but again I would have...enjoyed a bit more flavorful spice. Kids were also very happy with their choices! Consistent food and everything was hot and well prepared.More

This place is wonderful! Food, service, Atmosphere , I would say it has it all! My family ate there last night and the food was great! Our service even better! The waitstaff do an amazing job. My husband’s Diet Pepsi never ran dry nor did...my water! The waitstaff was not overbearing either. It’s a Very fine line between underserving and overwhelming a customer and they did it just right! The food was delicious! I really have nothing to complain about and that is rare these days! Well done El Abuelo !!!More

We have eaten at El Abuelo a few times over the years. We were meeting friends halfway between Denver and Colorado Springs and I thought of El Aubelo. Our friends had never eaten there. We all liked the food and the service was very good....We also loved walking around downtown Elizabeth.More

Four of us. Lots of food. Pretty good flavors. Quite busy but we were there early so it wasn’t a problem.

Was surprised it changed yet again. More expensive this time, but I’d say you get what you pay for. Lots of options, great guacamole. Friendly and quick service.

This restaurant changed hands a few months ago & we took our daughter & her husband there for brunch. Had a big surprise because the food went from 3.5 stars to 5, and the margaritas were really great. They added some really great little side...dishes like bean & cheese quest dip plus a fantastic mushroom, onion, cilantro & lime salsa that I can’t get enough of! My husband loved the breakfast burrito which was huge! We returned for dinner & I ordered the chicken enchiladas. It was made with shredded chicken breast meat and the portion was again really large. Everything was hot & fresh, and They offer a new tasty Corona margarita that was surprisingly tasty. Great servers too! Must go here if you live in or visit Elizabeth!More

Delicious! Great service, great food, awesome chips/salsa! They even brought mild salsa for my daughter. Almost too many options to choose from, but something for everyone. Definitely would recommend!

We decided to take a short trip from Denver, just for the trip. Found Guadalajara's and that inflated the pleasure.

The restaurant has a new menu, some new dishes and possibly new cooks. The new menu is very large and makes me wonder how you can do that many dishes well. The last 3 meals I have had at Guadalajara certainly were not done well. The...first bad meal was an enchilada and it was covered in mole instead of enchilada sauce. The second meal was their Fiery Chicken Wings. They were stone cold with a ring of grease lining the side of the plate in the sauce; the sauce was cold as well. The 3rd, and my last meal there, was a chili relleno. I had asked that the green chili be replaced with enchilada sauce. It came smothered in the pork green chili sauce anyway. Elizabeth is getting a new Mexican restaurant soon that I am hoping will be good. Perhaps this will spur Guadalajara to improve. Until then, I can't justify restaurant prices for TV dinner food.More

When Guadalajara opened in Elizabeth many moons ago they were the third Mexican restaurant in Elizabeth. Today the other two have closed leaving Guadalajara as the sole survivor. Why have they survived? This restaurant is a rock, the only restaurant to be reliably open seven...days a week, the food is always consistently good, as is the service. Great for large groups as well. There is a lot of great dishes on the menu beyond the standard fare, try the molcajete next time, or ask the staff what their favorites are and you may be pleasantly surprised. Molcajete was Roberto’s favorite, and for good reason.More
