The sister restaurant to this charming place is in Paris. That lets you know how authentic everything is. We stopped in a quick snack one day and decided to go back for breakfast the next day. That is when we noticed that it also has a lovely dining room. It is so quaint with great atmosphere. Our breakfast was wonderful,... More

We stopped in for lunch. Quiche was incredible and we felt a very nice size serving. Nice selection of soup and salads also. Their pastries are out of this world. Very nice service and the piano player was a bonus. Drop these people will serve you a fantastic lunch!

What a pleasant and unexpected surprise to find a french bakery and restaurant in Durango. Jean Pierre brought us right back to our last visit to Paris. Wonderful pastries and we enjoyed lunch with traditional french fare! We even had to pick up some pastries the morning we left for our drive to Santa Fe.

Absolutely loved our French dinner with mussels mariniere and St. Jacques scallops. Dinner was wonderful and a piano player accompanied our food with beautiful, soft show tunes! We could also hear the couple across the table! Yummy dinner!

I have recently come back from a holiday in France so the taste of local pastry and baked goods is still clearly remembered on my taste buds. I have to say the look and taste of the desserts in Jean Pierre are almost the same (even their sense of humor regards the Brexit special scones reminds me of the french).... More

We are staying at the Strater next door (separate review) and run into Jean Pierre himself in front of the establishment some time in the middle afternoon, on our way from the train to the hotel. Our little chat with the Owner convinces us that his claim (the FRENCH French baker) is not an empty statement and we decide to... More

Thankfully, my boss was paying. I wouldn't pay $20 for grilled cheese and tomato soup! Now, their pastries on the other hand are awesome! Skip the meals and go straight to dessert 🍰!

In early August I had the pleasure of cycling in Southwest Colorado with a group of friends. We spent 2 days in Durango, and one afternoon I took a walk along Main Street and came across Jean Pierre Bakery and Wine Bar. I often blog about bakeries that I encounter on bike rides, so naturally I had to taste their... More

Whether you want a quick pastry or a classy dinner this is a great place! Don't let the French name put you off! The pastries are home made (breads too). The smell alone will grab you! Lunch and dinner menus are posted outside so no surprises! Dinner was calm, quiet and absolutely delicious! For a "frontier" town this is unique... More
