I don't understand why The Red Snapper would be rated so comparatively low. We had dinner there this evening and it was simply wonderful. Our server, Kate, was very refined and very professional without being "snooty" as some servers can be in better restaurants. I started out with a cup of New England Clam Chowder which was as good or... More

We were looking for some trout, and although it's a locally caught fish, they don't supply the area restaurants. Okay, so we had Idaho trout. Our waiter was minimally friendly, and didn't seem to have much patience for our menu questions. The place is not very willing to make modifications / substitutions. The trout was a really large serving, but... More

We love this place. I recommend this restaurant to anybody. We have been going to Durango for many years and since we found the Red Snapper our trips are not complete without a visit. The food is always top quality and worth the price. I read someones bad review and I think they may have been somewhere else. I cant... More

I've been to the Red Snapper too many times to count, and I go back because of the quality of the food and dining experience. I always leave highly satisfied! Thanks to the owners, John and Nancy, the Red Snapper continues to excel on so many levels. One thing that has remained constant and amazing is the famous Salad Bar.... More

I've been a restaurant mechanic for over a decade and I have a long black list of places I wouldn't eat at gunpoint! This is not one of those places and actually was impressed with the cleanliness and food quality. Food was tasty and service was good. It was a nice experience for the price.

Being from Texas gulf coast, I was not sure about seafood in Colorado. Gave it a try with my husband & three kids and am glad we did. Grilled shrimp was excellent and salad bar had a nice variety. Our bill was pretty high but it was worth it.

My wife and I recently visited Durango for the first time. We found the Red Snapper through a local we sat next to that morning at a cafe. He had said it was a half a block off of main street but it was awesome seafood and a great salad bar. So we decided to take his advice and we... More

I was very pleased the other night to venture into The Red Snapper just off Main st. in Durango, Co. Coming from California, my wife and I are usually skeptical of real seafood fare. We were pleasantly surprised by the wonderful atmosphere, top notch service and amazing dishes. We enjoyed the delicious and moderately priced lobster pie an my wife... More

The local magazines describe this place as "fine dining"....NOT. First thing wrong; butter had an off taste. When questioned, the waitress admitted that they cut the butter with margarine! Menu lists chicken diablo made with a bone-in chicken breast. NOT! It was a thigh that was about 3 ounces. "Lobster" pot pie contained nothing but crab...no lobster. When we asked... More
