We were in Durango last week renting an isolated cabin and wanted to get takeout food since we are not prepared to eat-in at a restaurant. On our second night we ordered from Ken and Sue's and it was so delicious we ordered from them...the next night. They were lovely and responsive on the phone order (we needed to pick up early because of a drive up the mountain to our cabin), they have an efficient and safe pick up routine, the food is all carefully cartoned in a bag with handles. And both times the food was fresh and delicious (we ordered different things each night). We hope we can return to Durango when the pandemic threat is remediated because we would love to eat in at this delightful restaurant and thank the owners in person. Meanwhile, anyone looking for a safe and delicious takeout option in Durango should turn to Ken and Sue's. They are able to transmit a sense of warmth and welcome even on the phone with takeout.More

Great atmosphere and outstanding service. Casual thank goodness, like the rest of Durango. Sat outside and plenty warm for October since I ate early for me - 5:00 pm. Food was delicious and I was starving since I had not eaten anything all day. So...I ate everything in sight. Ha, ha. But food was a little disappointingly, not 5 stars. Local beer (Ska Pinstripe) was excellent. Lettuce in House Caesar was a tad old and a touch brown on some edges - dressing was superb however. Recommended Shrimp Spring Roll was very good - needed a touch more filling and less wrapper. I was salivating for the meatloaf all day in anticipation. Flavor was excellent, as was texture, but not quite hot and maybe not as fresh as I had expected. Mashed were good. Optional (extra) Tobacco Onions yummy but not needed. Fantasia Cheesecake was disappointing. Trader Joe’s cheesecake far better. Coffee was cold and freshly brewed pot was hot but not great coffee - really? I’d definitely go back but I would specifically ask for the freshest possible meatloaf and then dig in.More

Had lunch at Ken & Sue's in Durango and wish I would have gone sooner! The atmosphere is open and welcoming, the staff very friendly and helpful and I can't say enough about the food! This place is 5 Star food/service at a 2 Star...price! I will definitely eat there again, and take some folks with me!More

The courtyard was divine. The food was outstanding. We had the carrot soup which can’t be described by the mint sour cream made it. We had the spring rolls which were excellent. My husband had the tuna steak salad and he was very happy. I...had the salmon spinach salad. Off the chart good. Can’t say enough good words about the atmosphere and food, but most importantly Molly, our wait staff was exceptional .More

Ken and Sue’s was our favorite restaurant during our 5 day stay in Durango. We ate on the back patio which allowed us to feel safe during Covid. The restaurant followed the covid protocols such as masking, etc. The service was excellent and the food...was great. You will need to make reservations, because it is a popular place.More

We ordered the Friday night Prime Rib special and the cedar plank salmon. Both were excellent and came with great sides.

I wish we had been able to stay longer in Durango just to try more of their menu items! It was THAT difficult to choose from their very extensive and eclectic menu. Very upscale dining and service, but with reasonable prices. No reason to eat...anywhere else in Durango!More

The service and ambience are top notch! We ordered the wedge salad! One of the best I have ever had. We both ordered the filet. All the sides were yummy!!! My steak was tough and chewy. We enjoyed our meal so, didn’t bother with returning...to the kitchen. Happens sometimes. Would try again, no problem.More

Ken & Sue has the look & feel of fine dining in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, without a vacation busting tab. Very accommodating and attentive service, but it's difficult to get a table without reservations. The dishes are inventive and flavorful, elegantly presented. Great desserts...and cocktail too. A far cry from the overpriced or greasy pub food selections elsewhere. Yet the bill was closer to any pub in town. Absolutely a must in Durango.More

Filet was awesome! We were able to make reservations and sit in their back patio area with our one year old. The service was great and the food even better. We ordered the filet and the New York strip steaks. The potato lasagna was a...perfect compliment to the dish. For dessert we tried the cream brûlée and white chocolate cheesecake, both were delicious.More
