Delicious sushi

This place has a small outside sitting area in front of the restaurant. One can also get take-away food. I sat there to eat and had Mo as my server. He was very impressive, quick, efficient, friendly. I ordered pork rolls with peanut sauce and Funky Monkey rolls, as well as a sparking peach Japanese wine that Mo recommended. All was fabulous!

How do they do it???

Normally I'm a little hesitant to try sushi in a landlocked, somewhat isolated locale. BUT, this place is incredible! I'm not sure how they get such fresh fish, but it's some of the best sushi I have ever had! We had the Red Phoenix, Funky Monkey and Crunchy Mango rolls, which were all out of this world. We also had Tiraditos, which are sashimi cuts with great flavors. I can't recommend this place enough if you find yourself in the Durango area!!!

Simply amazing!

Stopped for dinner while going through town. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was fantastic! My Unagi bowl was amazing. My son ordered the tuna poke bowl and said it was the best he has ever eaten. My husband enjoyed his beef pho. We shared an order of fried pork rolls..soooo tasty! Highly recommend!

We tried Rice Monkeys based on reviews. Not sure we agree. We ordered a carry out. First off, the place seemed slightly unclean and so did the employees. The sushi was marginal. Not horrible but not yummy. The noodle dish was lukewarm which is troublesome. Dishes like that are required to be kept at a certain temperature to ensure bacteria does not grow. Will not be back - ever.

Could have been very good or excellent if order had been right.

Ordered a beef pho and a ginger chicken pho for pickup. Returned home to a very tasty beef pho, but the ginger chicken was actually shrimp and pork, which was not what was ordered. Disappointed in this experience.

Great food and excellent hospitality.

This was our first time back to Durango in 21 years and relied on reviews for some Asian food. Rice Monkey did not disappoint. Although it’s a very small place inside, it has additional seating outside. The hosts were very accommodating and the food was excellent. Be prepared to take food home as the portions are large. We had the teriyaki chicken rice bowl and could barely eat half of it. Enjoy!!

This place makes me wish I lived in Durango. We had the chirashi and the sashimi. The fish was amazing, and the yuzu and chili oil brought out the flavor of the dish without overpowering anything. If I lived here, I’d eat here every day.

Order the Bang Bang 🦐

The bang bang shrimp is so tasty. We enjoyed the California rolls too! Tried the noodle bowl, shrimp and pork, just couldn’t get into it. The veggie egg rolls were fresh and yummy. Food ready right on time!

Rice Monkey is right on Main Street and we had a late lunch on the patio. If you want made to order delicious food this is it. They help you select something you will love and have exceptional service. We had the bbq bowl and avocado crunch roll. Superb.

My partner and I visited for the first time on 4/11. We just beat their rush. We order a classic avocado/salmon roll. It was DEEEEE-lish!!! We also ordered some phó and it, also, was DEEEEEEE-lish!!! We plan to visit until we have tried a good portion of their menu. We recognize this place!!

We had a recommendation to eat here. Excellent food. We had pho and a vermicelli noodle bowl. Everything was great. It’s a very small casual place with a few seats inside and outside. Waiter was very good too.

Finally stopped in. Really big menu. Super friendly staff. Sushi, rolls, bowls, salads all here. Japanese beer. I got a salmon roll which was very tasty.

Small, fast and delicious.

When traveling my wife and I like to check out the local cuisine. That said, not so sure Durango Colorado is known for its sushi but the Rice Monkey might change that. Stopped in for lunch while shopping in the downtown district and found the shop very small, cozy, busy and appeared to be primarily take out. But the food was awesome. I had one of the specialty sushi rolls, the Funky Monkey and my wife had a rice bowl, Chicken Terriyaki. Both were very good. The staff was friendly although hurried to get people served quickly. Definitely would go back!

I had the Beef Pho and it was delicious! Tiny place but I got a seat right away. Very friendly service and excellent food quality. I could eat here every day
