Found this place on trip advisor and we are so glad we did! We had an excellent breakfast before we rode the train and the service can not be beat.

The first thing to know about Oscars is that it is not a "restaurant/bar" like so many places in Durango. It is an old fashioned diner. And its location is not historical or scenic. Instead it is located in a 1960s strip shopping center located just a bit west of Main Street. But the food is very good diner food.... More

This is a very quirky, cute diner! Crowded but got in and ordered and served quickly. Had a Durango scramble very good. Plus we had biscuits, gravy and eggs good also. They serve a lot of food so come hungry!

My wife and I visited here on 9/16/16 for lunch. We return here (normally for breakfast) every time we come to Durango. Great local hang out. Lots of food choices but so popular you might have to seat at the counter. I'm handicapped (cane and walker) but noted not ADA restrooms.

The venue is a little smaller than I expected but the food was great. Large portions and the chili was great. We enjoyed watching the train go around but if they're busy I would recommend sitting out front. We'll definitely stop in again!

Great breakfasts, and you'll see the requisite crowd on the weekends if you get here after 9 a.m. Small venue, and the tables are crowded. We are not large people, and four of us at a table for four were knocking elbows. The bill was extremely reasonable for the amount of food on the plate. I've never totally finished a... More

This is the best breakfast place we have ever found. I had the Ironman Omelet and it was fabulous. Stuffed with chives, mushrooms, white cheese, and bacon, and then covered in Oscar's homemade green chile sauce. Also highly recommended is their cinnamon roll! It should be called a cake, it is so big. No matter what you order, it is... More

Don't confuse quantity with quality. Four of us for breakfast. Teen sin and husband ordered 2x2. Neither are half their pancakes. Son got chocolate chip and it was seriously too chocolaty to enjoy . I got biscuit and it wasn't great. Kind of oily hard on bottom. Bacon has an off flavor but you get four pieces with your eggs... More

I had heard that people in Colorado understood New Mexico green chili and you could find it in some places. Did we ever luck out! This is a charming place inside, (doesn't look like much from the outside, it's in a strip mall.) A train runs around a track up near the ceiling, many cool things on the walls. But... More

Local favorite, A must try, so I read on other reviews... .This was the 2nd attempt we made on visiting Oscar's Cafe. On the first try we didn't have time to get on the list because our scenic train is not waiting for us. This time was for lunch. Despite being packed with people waiting outside, they do move the...
