On our kayak and raft trip down the Animas River, Southwest raft and jeep company stopped here for lunch. It was a climb up off the river in wet clothes but certainly worth it. Pulled pork sandwich was delicious.

Came here for dinner with friends & enjoyed it so much that we returned before departing the area. The turkey sandwich is amazing - toppings so good, and very tender & flavorful. easy in & out - nice big patio, GO!!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We hope to see you again during your next visit!
Deli, cafeteria style menu, excellent food, neat atmosphere. Our family enjoyed a round of miniature golf after our meal.
Food was really good. The loaded baked potato did not disappoint. Wish we lived closer! The nachos were good, but the chips were round and seemed straight from Costco. The meat on both items very tender. The bbq sauces at the tables were very good...also. They offer bottled drinks such as root beer and beer in coolers to pick up as you approach to order. The line took awhile as they give you your food as you order it. The atmosphere was nice inside. The outdoor seating was really nice. A view of the river and different levels. You can also rent equipment and play miniature golf.More
Serious Texas barbecue was seriously understaffed. The wait line was out the door. Probably waited at least 30 minutes to get to the counter to order. The food was OK.
The best! I had the pulled pork nachos off the menu. The place is just downright cool and you actually felt like you ate for the price unlike alot of places in Durango. Huge outdoor dining area or eat inside. A must eat at place...and right on main street (I did the North location).More
Thank you for your feedback and your kind review, Jason!
I ordered the nachos with brisket. Brisket wasn't bad but queso was literally cold by the time I walked to our table. Crust in apple cobbler was undercooked and doughy. Staff was very friendly.
In some strange twist, the now-defunct Farmington location was always better. It's still, like always, OK for BBQ and really good for fast food. But, some of the meats were dry and service was not great compared to how it used to be -- I...regret tipping. Took prompting to get everything ordered, asked for bread and got none, asked for sauce and got 1 cup for 5 lbs of meat. Maybe it's belt tightening in the current economy... but it's not how I remember it. Oh well, one more thing to not miss after leaving Durango.More
We walked from our hotel next door after enjoying our selections from the local beer cooler and also the nearby dispensary. I am a BBQ enthusiast and connoisseur, and had no complaints about the food.
Having lived in Texas for almost 30 years these people have no clue what Texas barbecue is. Sorry disappointed. They don’t have platters with sides. Everything is alacart. The Elgin sausage was good. But the brisket was dry and cold. The beans were more like...a chili. Just overall poor. Was looking so forward to going there. Wish I could gave given them a better ratingMore
We came here because it was next door to our hotel and we were tired of driving and didn’t want to deal with downtown parking and traffic. Surprise - it was fantastic! Not fancy but comfortable to eat in, and the food was great. Husband...got ribs and beans, and I got the brisket sandwich, which I think was the best choice. The meat was delicious and very generous - I actually couldn’t finish it. Cheesy potatoes to go with it. Reasonable prices for sure. I also think this would be really fun in the summer because there’s a huge covered outdoor dining patio (not for February though!). Nice staff and quick service, Bonus - we were greeted by 4 huge bucks in the parking lot, rubbing antlers on the trees! (Smoked venison, anyone?)More
My husband and I ate one fabulous meal here. The staff was very helpful and took the time to answer our questions. We really appreciated that almost everything was gluten free.
We had just finished a 9 hr day on the D&SNG and were really tired. Needed something fast to go and good. This was the perfect choice. The chipolte sauce on the pulled pork was off the chart. And as soon as we ordered and...paid, the food was ready. You've got to try this place!!!More
food was really good at affordable prices and better than anticipated. meat had smoky flavor and bbq pepper sauce was great.
Reliable, consistent great BBQ and service. Brisket, pulled pork, chicken, ribs, Serious Tx BBQ brand sauce, sandwich buns, meals, sides and sandwiches all fantastic - every time. Two Durango locations, same products and service. We prefer the original restaurant on Main but have no complaints...about South. Sauces and rubs available for purchase. Wish the chipotle mayo was still available for purchase but still used on sandwiches. Relaxed, informal, fun atmosphere. Take out available. Quick service.More
