Felt like we were in a bad Kitchen Nightmares episode. Unpleasant waitress, food mediocre at best. Watched our crab cakes sit on the kitchen window for almost ten minutes before being served to us.

We ate here for the first time tonight...it's tucked away in a quiet neighborhood, it's casual, but the food, environment and service are wonderful. We had a great waiter-Logan-he was superb. He was attentive, but not overly so, engaging, and he did not rush us. We took our time and the timing of the meal was perfect. The ambiance of... More

I have eaten at S&S about five times and have enjoyed all of the meals. We live a little outside of Denver so occasionally we have gathered our team and had an evening meal. Reservations are a good idea because the place is very busy. They do interesting twists on Italian foods. For example, the sausage may be something other... More

We had dinner at Shells with our daughter and her boyfriend and really enjoyed the evening. We sat outside and started with fried calamari which was delicious! The waiter told us they were out of clams and mussels, but was able to substitute salmon and shrimp for a linguini arrabiata entree that I happily ordered and thoroughly enjoyed! Everyone enjoyed... We have enjoyed Shells & Sauce several times during visits to Denver in the past few years. The food and atmosphere is great, but happy hour is what we enjoy the most! This is a small neighborhood restaurant that is very popular, arrive early or enjoy a wait (worth it).

We made reservations for a party of four on a Sunday evening. We ordered only to find the restaurant was out of three of the items we requested. No problem, we ordered other items. We had to send back the beef stroganoff, it was so bad only to have it replaced with gummy spaghetti and meatballs. The bread was good... More

My wife and I had a very enjoyable dinner at Shells and Sauce. The food was delicious and the waiter was very helpful and personable. It's not a very big place, tables pretty tight. It's pretty noisy on a busy night which is every night. Thankfully I called for reservations.

Everyone in this town is so super nice! This is like the anti-Portland, OR! I met a friend who lives in Denver here for brunch on a Sunday. I had eggs and fruit and he had waffles and they looked super good! Great portion sizes. Best to get reservations for brunch. And he said it really gets crowded for dinner,... More

The food was spectacular. There were many varieties to choose from. But when the dish is called Shrimp Diablo, please realize it is going to be very hot - for some reason that did not connect with my son. You definitely do leave hungry. The parking can be difficult, but you just drive around on the side streets until you... More
