There are times when we all deserve to spoil ourselves and dining here takes care of that. From the moment you enter the restaurant you feel like you are a guest in someone's home. You are warmly welcomed with smiles and a staff that caters...to your every need. Your coats are taken, you are escorted to your table and treated like you are really special. The drink menu and dinner menu are something you must take time to read. The descriptions make your mouth water and you will have a hard time choosing your entree. Having said that, this place has THE BEST French Onion soup ever. The onions are pureed and the soup is like velvet, fantastic flavor. One person in our group had ordered the soup and after we all tried it, we order a couple more cups. For my entree I had the beef bourguignon. The flavor was of a slow roasted beef with roasted veggies. The sauce was rich and absolutely delectable and a fine red wine was the perfect accompaniment. The staff is attentive but not overbearing. They make every effort to ensure that your dining experience is perfect. This is a small restaurant. It is quaint and cozy and romantic. I highly recommend a reservation as I would do for most restaurants. Whatever occasion you are celebrating, this place can provide you with a spectacular meal and you will leave feeling like you truly got the most for your money and you will crave the place. One visit here would not be enough.More

Everything about the Cafe Marmotte was excellent! The food, the service, the ambiance! We loved the small dining room and the menu was superb. Can't say enough about how wonderful it was!

The original Cafe Marmotte has been a favorite of ours since it opened. When I heard it had new owners, with a new vision, I was a bit skeptical, but decided to check it out tonight. The place is in transition right now - much...of the original French menu is still there, but with new Italian choices too. The pumpkin ravioli was delicious and was a very large portion (hooray for leftovers!). Went with a half-order of the lobster spaghetti and it was wildly wonderful. Rich and creamy, but not heavy. Lovely lemon notes, just a perfect dish. Looking forward to Austin and Heather's transition to a more Italian focused menu (and name change!) after the first of the year. Will be eating here a LOT!More

Just loved our evening at this restaurant. It is small but I loved the feel (white table clothes and cloth napkins as well). We came to celebrate a special occasion so we already felt we had chosen well. Loved the food, we tried the beet...salad, traditional onion soup, duck, filet, and molten chocolate cake. While all were delicious, the soup, duck and dessert were the highlights. The wine was also good, and they gave a very generous pour. We came at 8pm on a Saturday night (holiday weekend) and it had full tables but was not overwhelming. Also enjoyed the softly playing French music (with well known big band tunes) that added to the ambience. Our server was also very friendly and attentive. (I think her name was Jordan). We can’t wait to return! Perhaps for brunch but dinner was SO good I want to return for just that.More

Cozy, intimate restaurant. Lovely menu, nice selection of wines by the glass. Attentive, friendly service. Beignets are too die for. The portobello mushroom ravioli was light and fluffy. Caesar salad made with red romaine and quail eggs was very good. We can’t wait to dine...here againMore

We celebrated our anniversary at Cafe Mamotte and it was also our first visit to this restaurant. When you first enter, you are immediately taken in by the comfy environment. The service was first class-attentive but not intruding. The food was just delicious. Everything we...had was perfect. The links and wine were reasonably priced. We had a really memorable evening. We will be back and soon.More

Not impressive from the outside, because it's tucked away in an older neighborhood. However, the interior did remind us of the "petits restos" in France. Seating is limited, and the place is popular...so reserve in advance. Natalie greeted us warmly and took excellent and patient...care of us all evening...we were there a long time!! The wine list is of manageable size and has a good sampling of France's major regions, with mostly reasonable pricing. But the best part is the food, all of which is very well prepared. The Grilled Octopus appetizer is incredibly tender and flavorful. The absolutely delicious Caramelized Onion and Goat Cheese Tart is nice rich quiche by another name, with perfect texture and tons of flavor. Finally, the (non-traditional) Escargots with the fresh mushrooms were great, but just a touch salty. The main courses did not disappoint anyone either. The Veal Chop was tender, nicely seasoned and cooked to desired doneness, as was the Filet Mignon Oscar. Others in our party had the Portobello Ravioli, salmon and seared scallops, and were uniformly delighted. It seems you can't go wrong with any dish. Our shared desserts were also very good. This is authentic French-style cuisine!!!More
