Excellent food and service. Gnocchi light and fluffy, the Raviolo was beautifully done. Really enjoyed the Pulpa; it was sliced so thin and the flavors so delicate. Nice wine program and service was great.
Our dinner at Il Posto was the high point of our visit to Denver. We were privileged to meet owner Andreas and hostess Vanessa at the door, and to be seated at the cooking bar where we watched superb chefs Mario and Tony create their...dishes! The dinner we ordered was fabulous from appetizers to entrees to dessert, as were the drinks! Our server, Kole, was attentive and wonderfully knowledgeable about the food and wines-- really excellent! Thank you, everyone at Il Posto, we'll be back!More
Cool interior. Loved the booths. The brunette hostess was a doll. Friendly and accommodating.
I was intrigued by the interesting offerings on the brunch menu. I chose the Casseruola and my friend chose the Italian style French toast.
Our waiter could not have been worse....In fact, he was an absolute disgrace to the restaurant industry. Not one ounce of personality or grasp of customer service. Zachary should be working in a morgue, not around living people.
Literally rolled his eyes as I asked for a decaf latte (excuse me but I have a heart condition that doesn’t allow me to drink caffeine), and was incapable of describing menu items in any detail whatsoever. Zachary gets an F. He needs to go.
After serving us our dishes - mine topped with ICE COLD sunny side up eggs, Zachary never even came by to check in. Thankfully, the wonderful hostess whose name I wish I had gotten, came by and apologized for the ice cold eggs and remedied the situation immediately by getting a fresh set of hot eggs out to me pronto.
She should get a gold star!!
The food was tasty for sure. The hostess was awesome! The “waiter” Zachary should be banned from ever waiting tables again.More
I had always wanted to try this place out, I went there the other night with clients. I found it to be just average. It is NOT a typical Italian place at all. In fact quite the contrary. Nothing about it rang about the Italian...food I sought and am used to. I am open to new foods and new ways of presenting food when they work, this place just didn't cut it. Rarely, also can I not find anything on the menu which grabs me, but at this place this was a struggle. I opted for the baked chicken which was passable. It was a chicken roasted without skin it seemed on the top of a mound of mashed potatoes with some dark gravy. It was ok but needed salt. The calamari starter was interesting and was more like stuffed calamari than traditional fried calamari. Dessert was passable. For three of us without drinks $110.
Not sure I can recommend or that I would go back.
A cool setting for sure. Service was good but not quite what I would like or expect from an upscale place. Just not my cup of tea.More
We went to Il Posto last night for my husband's birthday dinner. We checked things out on line first and he chose this place partly because we had never been. I made the reservation online and things were OK through seating. However, the main problem...I had was with our waitress, mostly because she also seemed to be a bartender, and because she was not very familiar with the food or able to explain menu items to us. In between courses she was behind the bar mixing drinks, and i had to catch her eye to get service. And even though the menu descriptions were in English, there where numerous unfamiliar ingredients that required me to constantly ask what things were. I think this is a real barrier for the restaurant to their guests having a nice time.
Now, the sommelier was very nice and knowledgeable to help us select a nice bottle of wine. That was a real bright spot.
Regarding the food, the in-house made focaccia was amazing. Our starter was the calamari, which I hated. My husband had it and he was fine. I couldn't handle the strong fishy taste, and I thought it over cooked. The second course was a pasta course like a large ravioli with a ground bison filling. This was inventive and just fine. We also enjoyed our entrees after that too, the chicken with polenta and the duck.
Regarding the atmosphere, I understand that it's supposed to be a hip, urban place in RiNo, and that's fine. The interior had a unique modern or industrial feel. But I thought the music playing overhead was awful. There was one song during our second course that kept using the "f" word. Really? There's a difference between trying to be young and hip and just vulgar.
So in conclusion, I don't see us ever going back there, just because it wasn't anything special but a lot of money for a night out in the city. I felt like we were second class citizens with a server that seemed to a bartender trying to be a waitress, the declasse music overhead, and the fact that even though I wrote it in the reservation, no one even acknowledged that it was my husband's birthday. By just connecting a bit more with us as human beings, they could have had customers for life; instead we just got through it.More
Visited II Posto for dinner with my wife. The ambiance is great. It definitely has a personality and great vibe.
Our service was outstanding! The bartender was fun and knowledgeable. Our server had a great personality and was spot on attentive.
Really great wine choices....Our only knock was the appetizer and main we shared were both overly salty for our taste.More
Good negronis and italian food. The restaurant is located in RiNo a very nightlife-y area that is lively around the restaurant. We made reservations for a Friday night and we were quickly seated outside on the patio which was lovely on a warm September night....I would recommend sitting outside if the weather permits. We enjoyed a variety of dishes- the burrata, the polpo carpaccio, the insalata con farro, the pappardelle, the risotto di mais, and the bison steak. I would recommend the insalata and risotto. If you like negronis, they have 3 on the menu which is lovely for negroni fans. :)More
"Complicated simplicity of Italian food and wine" ?? Hopefully they didn't pay anyone for that nonsense. Can't really comment on the simplicity or complication of anything edible as we didn't stay long enough to find out. After arriving around 7:30 on a Monday night, our...party of four found the main part of the restaurant deserted, except for a person at the bar and the bartender. We waited around and wandered toward the back and discovered that everyone seemed to be outside dining. Great, it was beautiful weather! We seated ourselves as we found no staff available. While we waited, there was absolutley NO eye contact, acknowledgment, wave, nod or any form of recognition from the all male lumber sexual wait staff. The outside dining area was very tight and seven different waiters passed within inches of us and completly ignored us. Perhaps we were not the clientele they wanted at their "trying really hard to be hip" establishment. Our group was older and obviously touristy, but hailing from places like Orange County, Atlanta, New Mexico and Washington DC, were were not unfamiliar with urban dining. After fifteen minutes we got up and left. On the way out we asked if there was a manager available and we were told "not at the moment."More
Nice wine list, better food. The cocktails were nice and we enjoyed the Crudo, calamari, risotto di pesca, diamanti and the I Fiori. Service was not outstanding, but a really fun place and I would recommend.
