We enjoyed our dinner but the octopus appetizer was bit chewy. Nice wines available by the glass which pleases me since my wife does not drink wine. The chopped salad was ok but not special. The entrees were quite good. My wife had the halibut and I had the barramundi. The "dynamite" preparation was delicious. Creme brûlée for desert was... More

I loved the white linens, and the chilled veggies. It reminded me of going to a restaurant as a child. Its rare that chilled veggies are offered any more. The food was good, but the experience and feeling was even better. Sadly, they got my wife order wrong 3 times. But mistakes happen. I would give them another chance.

The food and service were absolutely amazing. We went here for our 5 year anniversary dinner and we left extremely satisfied. The menu is changed daily which is fun. The food was prepared and cooked to perfection and tasted divine. Our waiter was very attentive, nice, and personable. We finished our dinner with the baked Alaska for fun which was... More

We made a reservation to have a bite before a show at the Buell. We arrived early and had a drink at the bar. One of the best gin and tonics I have ever had and I appreciated being able to add just the amount of tonic to suit my preference. Very nice touch. Our food also was amazing. Had... More

The attentiveness of the waitstaff was only bested by the quality of the food. From the raw oyster offerings to the Alaskan salmon and Australian colossal shrimp, the quality and preparation was extraordinary. We have eaten in some of the finest seafood restaurants in Paris, Hong Kong, and New Zealand and this absolute surprise in the LODO / Convention Center... More

The Oceanaire is located on a corner and stepping through the corner door is like being transported into some era from the past where every table has white linen appointments and apron-ed staff stand at attention to serve. The aroma of freshly cooked seafood fills the room and the low murmur of voices in happy conversation, clink of glasses and... More

My wife and I dined at the Oceanaire before an event at the DCPA. Even though I planned on plenty of time to dine and make the show, I must say they were very accommodating if we needed to hurry. As for the food, it was good, not great. We shared a $19 shrimp cocktail. For the price I though... More

The appetizers were great (the shrimp cocktail and oysters Rockefeller), but the 2 pound lobster special was a joke. The claws were already taken off and the meat was stored in the head cavity. After their disassembly of the claws, there was hardly any meat left at all. The lobster tail meat was mushy and completely shrunken (again, hardly any... More

Went to the restaurant because they were offering a 4th of July special, a prifixe menu for two. We were greeted with an interior that was open and inviting. All the staff were attentive and friendly. The selection on the prifixe menu was varied and offered enough for my friend who has a seafood allergy. Wine was very good. Favorite... More
