Once there was a breakfast restaurant chain called "The Egg and I." It started in Fort Collins, Colorado and expanded across the country. It became our favorite breakfast place. Then the founders sold the franchise to another chain called First Watch, who continued to operate...them for several years with few changes. But for some reason the new owners decided to convert all of their locations to the First Watch name and menu. In our area, they did this shortly before the pandemic struck and we pretty much stopped eating out. Since getting vaccinated we have visited two First Watch locations. Both were disappointing. The new decorating scheme isn't as welcoming or as friendly as the old. The new "Muzak" plays completely unintelligible and unrecognizable songs at an annoyingly high level. And sadly, the new menu isn't as attractive as the old. At this particular location the hostess was very pleasant and very welcoming. Our waitress was prompt in taking our orders and checking back with us. Unfortunately the food was seriously deficient. The coffee was old and burned. My wife's avocado toast was ok, but the scrambled eggs were gelatinous and cold. My "The Works" omelet was poorly prepared. The sausage, ham, onions, and mushrooms were chopped so coarsely that I had to cut them again myself. The bacon was missing entirely. All of these fillings spilled out of a very skimpy omelet, which was also lukewarm. Half of the potatoes were burned and half undercooked. The "whole grain artisan toast" would have been much better if it had been hot and had allowed the large slather of butter to have melted. I suspect the reason for these changes is that the corporation is hoping to attract a younger crowd. I hope they're successful, for the employees' sake. But I'm they have lost this somewhat elderly couples' frequent patronage. $38 for two, including 20% tip.More

On our way to Colorado Springs we stopped for a late breakfast. We had driven from Cheyenne, WY and wanted to to catch a bite. The food was phenomal! Very fresh, mostly organic, looked like farm to table. Very imaginative rendering of classic dishes, some...house specialties, and could accomodate almost any form of diet; vegan, organic, keto, etc. The manager stopped by out table to see how we liked it, too. The guy was very knowledgeable and even told us alot about this franchise since we'd never heard of them before.More

We found this restaurant by surprise and absolutely loved the food. We also had great service. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next morning. This will be our go to place for breakfast when we visit Broomfield.

Our family of six had a wonderful breakfast but had to wait about 20 minutes or so for a table; and I understand with its popularity. Food and coffee were excellent and staff was attentive. One of the better breakfast restaurants I've experienced.

Catchy name is just the start; outstanding service, nice selection, delicious food including good coffee. More than a basic breakfast, come early or expect a wait (if you arrive to a line, it is worth the wait).

Four of us had excellent breakfasts. Two of us split a pancake order since the single pancake is large. They have a special bacon with a great flavor and a want to order it again tastes.

This is by far my favorite place to have brunch in town. Service is good and the food is spectacular! I never regret taking people to this gem. Order the bacon and the green drink...delish!!

Late Sunday morning breakfast with son and husband, had to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Pumpkin Pancake special, Salmon Eggs Benedict, and the Chorizo Green Chile Omelet were our choices. The pumpkin pancake was nice - not too sweet and just the right amount...of spice. Eggs and chicken sausage patty on the side were great. Salmon Eggs Benedict was good (hollandaise sauce was a bit heavy on the lemon). Omelet was good. Service was a bit slow, but our server was very nice. Good cup of coffee. This was our first visit, we would come back a second time.More

My dish of smoked salmon Benedict was barely room temperature. Hollandaise sauce was thin and bland. Served with limp salad... who wants salad with their breakfast? Where’s the potatoes? Didn’t bother sending back to kitchen. I might have considered giving them a second chance in...the future if the grumpy manager who was wandering around had even bothered to check on us. As it is now, will never go back.More

Revisited and food has improved but not great. Eggs Benedict had bland, watery sauce, toast good with another egg choice, pancakes subpar. Place is clean, somewhat higher in cost, service is poor. Don't let the line fool you, there are better choices within the area,...such as on 104thMore

Hmmmm not for sure what the question is ... If it is the one on top... I would have no clue on their recipe.
