My wife and I go here often and they never disappoint. It is located on Larimer Square in Lower Downtown Denver, which is a fun, happening part of Denver. The food and service are excellent. I am not a food critic, so will not presume to tell you which dishes are the best or which ones you would prefer. One... More

We have eaten at Rioja on Larimer Street in downtown Denver on a number of special occasions, because it is just that -- special. You don't go here for a casual, spur of the moment burger or pizza, though. Only for special times -- anniversaries, birthdays, promotion celebrations, that sort of special. It's expensive (you are forewarned) but it has... More

Rioja offers an intimate bar at front of restaurant- try the pommeginger- tasty & refreshing on the sweet side vodka, pomegranate, ginger cocktail. Our requested booth in the quieter back room was not ready, so the hostess offered us a banquette 4 top table to the two of us. Once seated we were promptly offered still or sparkling water. The... We went to Rioja because a local friend of ours said it was the best restaurant in the US. I thought he might be over-rating it a bit, but really, it is a great place. The food and service were, without exception, exceptional. We don't usually get dessert but, because everything else had been so fabulous, we ordered the beignets... More

We stopped here while visiting Denver because we heard the food was good. It was sooo good it made my taste buds dance. I had roasted chicken and a cauliflower bake. The flavors were soo good. The salad is even fantastic, it has so much flavor. They have some creative fun cocktails there as well. I got a spicy martini,... More

Music so loud you can not focus on the good food. Lovely restaurant good service. I really can not remember what I had because we were anxious to eat and go. We did think the food was good...whatever it was Larimer Square is always a fun place to go

Decided on Rioja for a pre-concert dinner with my wife. We were coming into Denver from out of town, and planned to meet a good friend for dinner. Reading the reviews, it seemed like food was well regarded, but some complaints of sub-optimal service made me a little nervous - gave it a try anyway. Was not at all disappointed.... More

Been here twice, the food was great. I would have rated it higher bur the service was so awful it affected the dining experience significantly. Waited one additional hour after having good reservations booked one week ahead of time. I strongly suggest you call and reconfirm and write down who spoke with. Try to check the menu out before getting... More

This is a very expensive restaurant. You will spend at least $100 per person. The food met expectations (did not exceed), but the hostess was surly and the waitstaff appeared to want us to get through our dinner as quickly as possible. The prices and decor suggest fine dining, but the staff do not allow you to DINE. We were... More
