Interesting menu and food. For Appetizer - the samoosa is crispy little fried pie type thing with lentils. (sorry not up on Ethiopian food jargon). My sis doesn't like lentils and she liked it. The salad fresh but light on dressing (I would ask for more!). The appetizer onion tomato with the bread in it is a no- mostly contained... More

We were first introduced to the Axum Restaurant through Groupon and found the food to be very authentic. When you enter you start by enjoying the smell of the meal you soon will be eating and the sounds of Ethiopia. We enjoyed a vegetarian and meat combination plate, Sambusa and Baklava all of which were brought hot all of the... More

I wasn't sure what to expect since I've never had Ethiopian food before. Had no idea we would be eating with our hands or how hard it would be. The injera (bread) is a soft spongy flat bread that comes covered with different sides. You are supposed to take a piece of bread and scoop the food up. The bread... More

First time having Ethiopian food and it was great. We were there with a party of 6. The service was great. The food came out hot and fast. We had 2 Vegetable combo and 2 meat combo. It was the perfect amount of food for the six of us. Total bill with drinks was 80.00. Looking forward to going back.

This is hard for me to review because the food was really nice & flavourful, staff were very friendly, place was clean, but we won't be back here simply because it's just not our thing. It was great to experience the food but it wasn't to the point where we LOVED it. We bought a groupon which was for 2... More

I love going up to Denver and eating at Axum. I won't say its authentic because i have never been to nigeria, but it is definitely something different. I love they're sponge bread with lamb and rice. Very tasty.

My husband and I have both dined in here and gotten takeout lots of times. We've always gotten the veggie combo, which is delicious. The last time we visited and got takeout, we got home, opened the salad, and found a cockroach. This made us question the cleanliness of the kitchen, and we haven't been back.

I went to Axum for lunch today. It's not much from the outside. The decor is very simple inside, but the bar and dining room is very spacious. I came here because Queen of Sheba was closed, even though they were suppose to be open. Their loss and Axum's gain. I was the first customer for lunch today. Several other... More

The service was poor, that's why the rating is so low. It seemed more important for our server to hang out with her family in the back near the bar then to bring us refills on water or bring the food when it was hot. My food well tasty, was warm at best. This was our second choice as Queen... More

We enjoyed our visit. The food was very authentic and very tasty. Not fancy, but delicious. The service was great and with a huge smile. We felt very welcome. When we are back in the area, we will definitely go back.
