My oldest son is a Japanophile, visited Japan twice, is studying the language and loves Japanese food. He took us, a party of four, for dinner and ordered for all of us. He ordered four dishes: pork, beef, shrimp, and some noodle dish. The main dishes are served with seven small side-dishes, small plates with things like seaweed salad, pickled... More

A wonderful meal in an interesting setting. The restaurant is decorated in Japanese antiques, with large stone tables. The meal was wonderful; so unlike the usual sushi restaurant. This is great peasant fare, best enjoyed with a larger group. Tour the garden and museum!

Domo is very unassuming when you first walk in. Coming around the side of the building and into the hostess area you begin to get a feel for the aesthetic of the place, then through to the back to dine outside and a very well groomed garden. We enjoyed a great authentic meal in absolutely perfect weather. The service is... More

If the food doesn't make you want to come back the ambience will. Walking into the place makes you feel as if though you are in some little country side restaurant in Japan. While the indoor decor is great, the tea garden is breath taking and my favorite place to eat. I have eaten here a number of times and... More

This place has yummy food, a garden, and a museum. I love eating here. The food is considered Japanese country food. There is a variety of noodle dishes and soups to try, as well as different teas.

Have been wanting to visit so long. House very authentic and gardens so well groomed. The food was good, but the service was even better. Lived in Japan for two years as a child and brought back some great memories. The history museum was also a plus. Will be coming back.

My family went there yesterday for dinner, had to wait like 20 or so minutes which was ok. But the worst server I had showed up with a real bad attitude for some reason. First he slammed our waters down then his attitude with just sucked. So went to hostess & request another server. We ordered our food drinks from... More

We love to go there for a traditional country style Japanese food. You won't find any sushi there but you won't be disappointed. Great atmosphere inside and gorgeous garden in the spring and summer. Definitely my favorite place to go for Japanese food.

Having tried authentic curry, this is the next best thing. The tea comes in huge cups and it's perfect. Very pricey, friendly and helpful staff. Good over all

This is not your typical Japanese sushi or steak house. The sketchy exterior makes walking in the door even more of a magical contrast. Every inch of interior is styled as Japanese style country home. Get there early for lunch to grab a seat in a beautiful garden. Ask for help from the wait staff with a very complex menu.... More
