This is the Nunez family owned business since 1974. It is actually located in Aurora. The atmosphere is decorated in cheerful colors reminiscent of Mexican decor. The music piped in is Latino and pleasant. The food prepared is authentic cuisine from the beef enchiladas to the Mexican hamburgers and the spicy green salsa. Chile relleno is exquisite! Now, you cannot... More

This is a locally owned restaurant that has great service, great food and local flair at reasonable prices! It is wonderfully decorated and a favorite of locals.

My husband and I have been going to La Cueva for many years, it is one of our favorite casual spots for dinner. The Green Chile is very hot and we like that. This is a family owned restaurant and they treat the customers like family. Great Margaritas, Shredded beef burritos, My husband likes the Mexican Hamburger. Very good Flan... More

Strike Number One: Our party of 5 adults and 4 children (all age four and under) arrived promptly at 6 pm for our 6 pm reservation. Apparently our reservation had been "misplaced" so we wait 15 minutes to be seated. OK, that happens...no big deal Strike Number Two: Our food arrives one and a half hours later! I'm not kidding.... Tried La Cueva for lunch. It is authentic Mexican and above average with good chips and salsa. The shredded beef burrito very good smothered in green chili sauce and very inexpensive. The nachos with chicken were also good.

I'm a bit sad that I'm the first ! What should of been a nice quite meal with 3 friends was decidedly disappointing. It was a mid-week night , next to no one there but the service (or lack of) , the meals, everything just didn't gel ? The Restaurant/Bar takes up 3 shop fronts so has been expanding but... More

I first ate at this place soon after moving to Denver 37 years ago. At that time I worked and lived nearby and it was more like a small taco shack. I fell in love with the shredded beef tacos and while all the food is divine these things are just Ambrosia. The restaurant has grown in lovely ways through... More

Denver has tons and tons of good Mexican restaurants - and I eat at many of them, but this mom and pop joint is really the best. Its always hot and fresh and authentic. The Nunez family has run this place since 1974 and their pride and discipline really show. My favorite: the green chilie plate - hands down. Sometimes... More

My family and I have gone to La Cueva faithfully for a while now and have always received delicious food and great service, but this evening was a different story. We ordered our regular order to pick up as always and when my wife went in to pick it up they charged us 70 dollars because apparently they thought we ordered...
