Sputnik is a full service bar and restaurant that offers a fresh and eclectic take on traditional bar food. We offer many vegetarian and vegan options. Full espresso bar. Free wi-fi. Cars have to park on the street--we have no lot. We do have bike racks though.

We too read that review that called this place unaccepting, supposedly because the reviewer was old. Well, we are old - we are years into Medicare old - and we felt totally welcomed by everyone, from the bartenders to other customers. Everything was very relaxed and friendly. It reminded us of our favorite spots at home in Chicago, where you can be guaranteed great drinks and great conversation any time you walk in the door. Also, the food was terrific - I had the vegetarian chile, which was excellent and just the right level of hot, and my companion had the cubana, also wonderful. Good solid drinks, good sounds, fun ambience, super relaxed fun friendly vibe. We love it.

Best vegan tacos we’ve tried. Spectacular vegan banh mi. That vegan ham in it has great fkavor and texture. Highly recommend this place!

Wonderful vegetarian food. After reading a review about how the staff was unaccepting, we were nervous to take our baby there but it wasn’t a big deal at all. The staff was really friendly and gave us ideas for other places to visit while in Denver. They also have an old school photo booth in the bar!

Met up with a friend here who happens to be vegan and was pleasantly surprised with the variety of delicious vegan food. Has that perfect dive bar atmosphere with music that's just a little too loud and lights that are maybe a bit too dim. Definitely a great spot for some late night vegan munchies.

We had the cheesesteak and Po boy and they were both super good. Also a heaping pile of fries and a fantastic vegan ranch. Would definitely recommend.

We stopped into Sputnik while spending a day shopping in Denver and we were looking for somewhere that was vegan friendly. This absolutely fit the bill.
I had the vegan Buffalo Po Boy which was just delicious and my girlfriend had the tacos which were good.
The coffee was excellent, we had soy lattes that were full of flavour and they had other non-dairy milk options available. Our server was friendly and helpful.
Definitely worth a visit!

My daughter took us to this place for lunch before we left Denver. My wife was craving a corn dog and Sputnik delivers!!!!!!!
The menu is small but delicious! The server, Joe, asks about any food preferences or allergies. The corn dogs are hand battered, and the tacos!!!!!!! Small pork tacos on small corn tortillas garnished with green salsa verde and shredded cabbage!!!!!!! My mouth is watering just remembering the flavor!!!!!
Joe was GREAT!!!!!! Very attentive and interactive with the guests!!!

My boyfriend and I stopped here after we had a later flight in to Denver. This place totally hit the spot. The music they played was awesome, the drinks were great, and the vegan options they had were phenomenal. Hands down the best vegan mac and cheese I've ever had! I definitely suggest this place and will stop here the next time I'm in Denver!

this restaurant came up on our search for a vegan establishment. we made a 30 minute drive here. it was interesting to walk in and see it was really a bar environment more than a restaurant.
the menu had a nice variety of different things. each option came with a vegan alternative or substitute.
we ordered the fried brussels sprouts as an appetizer and they were delicious!
i had the salad which was very good and light with a nice mild dressing.
friends had the vegan club and the pork tacos which they enjoyed
the service- one part of our order was put in wrong. then it came out later than the other food. it also contained items that were asked to be omitted. they ended up comping us one of the meals which i thought was very generous of them.
i would recommend this place to anyone wanting to explore this part of town with a vegan appetite.

Order: Sputnik Soul Bowl
Price: $11
Pros: Good food, fair prices, a TON of vegan options, open late (apparently not a normal thing in Denver)
Cons: Not a large amount of seating, fairly loud “bar style” atmosphere
Thoughts: So we decided to stop in at Sputnik for a very unusual series of reasons. My siblings and I had all just gotten off a plane after flying for 5+ hours and we were about to begin a 6 hour drive to Thermopolis Wyoming and we were absolutely starving. The big problem was most places are not open at 10pm in Denver Colorado. So, while our list of options was tragically small Sputnik did seem like a good place to get some food and, to top it all off, one of my siblings is a vegan and Sputnik had vegan options, so that pretty much settled it.
Seeing as Sputnik was listed as a bar in addition to being a restaurant I honestly wasn't expecting a lot. Fortunately I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of food that came out. I ordered the sputnik soul bowl, which is essentially a bowl of mashed potatoes with fried chicken, greens, kale, corn, red onions, and then topped with gravy. The chicken was very well done the mashed potatoes were not overly dry, everything was seasoned very well. Everybody at the table seemed to be genuinely happy with their order. In my experience it's very rare for a restaurant to get both vegan and non-vegan dishes right but sputnik seem to deliver on both fronts. You could essentially order any dish and they would substitute the meat options in it for a vegan alternative.
I will say the atmosphere was much more like a bar then it was a restaurant. There were enough tables for people to sit down at but the music was very loud, there plenty of people talking at a pretty loud column, and most people were congregating around the bar. This doesn't detract from how good the food was, it's just something to keep in mind when you're considering if you want to eat here tonight.
They did also have a coffee bar, which I was highly interested in, since I was about to drive six hours and it was already 10 o'clock at night, so I ordered a cappuccino. While the price was very reasonable for what you got I wouldn't go out of my way to get coffee from Sputnik. It was good, but not amazing, and if you have read any of my other food reviews you will know that I am incredibly snobbish when it comes to coffee.
While I don't imagine that I will be in the Denver area anytime soon, if I was, I would definitely keep Sputnik in mind as a good place to eat, and a decent place to get a cup of coffee. Especially if it's late.

My husband and I went here for lunch, and we seemed to be the only 40-somethings in a customer base of hipsters. Our orders were taken quickly at the bar (we both ordered sandwiches), but about 25 minutes later we still had not received our food (or a check in from the waitress), and we were soon running late for an appointment. It took a lot of work to flag down the waitress, who then packaged the food to go. She wouldn't look us in the eye as we tried to talk to her, and she never apologized for the food taking so long. We were sorely disappointed with the service, as we had to eat the food in the car driving to our appointment.
The food was okay. They have a wide variety of vegan and vegetarian options, which we appreciated. However, my tempeh sandwich was bland and didn't have mayonnaise on it as described in the menu, which I think would have given it more flavor. Overall, a disappointing experience, and we won't go back. Good customer service can go a long way.
