Great food, atmosphere, and service. Very cozy and romantic, very French-feeling. Delightful dinner, would gladly return. Tables were socially distanced and all staff were masked.
Bonus feature: 50% off on bottles of wine on Sundays.
This a quaint restaurant that we wanted to try because of their rating and we both love French food. I had the salmon on spinach and it was wonderful, my boyfriend had the shank with collard greens, it was tasty but the collard greens were...average. I think what spoiled the visit was the waiter, he was not professional, did not greet us and basically came up and said "Do you want to order". We had to ask him for iced tea and water refills (my boyfriend had a martini and he said that was good). Too bad the waiter ruined the experience, we would have come back.More
Just an FYI if you order the “warm duck breast” salad it is not fresh hot duck, seemed like it was salami out of the fridge duck with preservatives and all. Just wasn’t what I was expecting. My fiancé loved the snails and the bread/butter/marmalade...was fantastic! Cute ambiance inside.More
La Merise is our favorite restaurant in Denver! We try to visit on each trip. The food is delicious and the selection seems to please everyone. The staff have all been wonderful and knowledgeable about the menu. The ambience is on the cozy side compared...to the warehouse types of restaurants of the modern era. I highly recommend splurging on the desserts to finish your dinner. They are all so sumptuous!More
We had high hopes, the restaurant looked great when we walked in.
Arrived for our 6:30 reservations, we were seated and then waited 10+ minutes for our waitress to take our cocktail order. After another 10 minutes, she came back by saying our cocktails were...being made and asked if she can take our order, we replied no, that we would like our cocktails first. After a total of 30 minutes waiting, we finally received our cocktails which were not prepared as ordered. The couple next to us were also complaining about the terrible service and we decided that we did not want to sit through a disappointing dinner and got up to leave. The waitress' response wasn't "is there something wrong or how can I help you", it was "you need to pay for your drinks". We explained that we waited 30 minutes and they were wrong. I have never walked out of a restaurant because of service, but this was over the top terrible.More
Very impressed with LM last evening. Started with a really nice cocktail. Pate and Foie Gras were good. Star of the evening were the excellent lamb chops. Lamb was perfectly seasoned and cooked. Nice, crisp veggies on the side. Potatoes were a bit cold and...an afterthought but that didn’t distract too much. Dessert crepes were nice. Others in the party enjoyed an excellent onion soup and a nice piece of salmon. I’d beef up the wine by the glass a list a bit but there were good choices. Service was correct but our server was a touch quirky- appropriate in some establishments but maybe not this one. I found price and value here to be excellent- I understand why this is my brother in law and his partner’s go to French restaurant in Denver.More
With a delightful wine list and a limited but varied menu, it reminds me of several places we ate at in France. Quite enjoyable, the mussels were tasty and the oysters fresh and the Onion Soup was delicious!
