Woodie Fisher, a Review
We arrived a few minutes early for our reservation and we were greeted by David with a upbeat attitude and warm greeting. We were sat promptly in the Dining area across from
The lovely bar area near the tree( roommate who joined me was curious why it isn't a real tree with all the light, like a ficus.) in a two person booth but I did not feel cramped like I usually do so that is a bonus. The menu was presented and David offered some wonderful suggestions on the menu while we started with the Buratta. Shortly after we received it we placed our main course order. I chose the burger prepared medium with the greens with lemon vinaigrette and Kurt chose the shawarma with the greens as well. I also ordered the Filthy Cherry Limeade at this time which was prepared and delivered promptly and was amazing. Our entrees arrived promptly and looked delicious with a simple presentation that was appreciated. My burger was cooked perfectly and the cheese was so melty. It was one of the messiest burgers ever and if it ain't messy it ain't good as my step dad would say. Kurt was content with his choice but was expecting a different type of chicken( grilled Brest chopped up instead of the patty-ish chicken) but would order it again.
Overall it was a good experience with good food and staff.
Thank you for the great experience!

We ate it Woodie Fisher’s one night this week as it is next to our hotel. The food and service were so good we went back two nights later. I’m not exaggerating when I say that every single thing we tried was most delicious! Over two different nights we ate: Brussels Sprouts, Burger, Burrata, Wedge Salad, Margherita pizza and Blistered Shishito peppers. It is not common to have every item to be excellent, even at wonderful restaurants. Woodie Fisher’s delivered that which is why we ate there twice in one week and will go back again during our next visit to Denver. The service was as good as the food—outstanding! Attentive without hovering. Both waiters could explain the food and how it was made and they did so with a smile on their face! There is clearly something special about Woodie Fisher’s—thanks!

We are staying at the Hilton Garden Hotel( great place by the way) and decided to try out the hotel Woodie Fisher Kitchen & Bar. It is the oldest remaining structure in the Union Station neighborhood. This historic Hose House #1 was one of the first volunteer firehouse houses in Denver. Completely remodeled. Had indoor and outdoor seating. We chose to eat inside at an 5:00 pm due to the very warm temperatures. There were people at the lively bar having drinks when we arrived. A couple of tables had people having drinks, then ordering dinner. By 7:00 many outdoor & indoor tables were filled. My husband had the wedges salad and the pork chop dinner & both were delicious delicious ( I tasted the pork chop-yum). I ordered the roasted peppers as an appetizer, the sirloin steak & a side of roasted Brussels sprouts-yum again. We had an excellent server-thank you! I highly recommend this restaurant.

We arrived around 8:00, waited for a few minutes for the hostess and were not greeted by our waitress until 8:15ish. We then placed our orders and the food did not arrive until 8:55ish. The waitress apologized once early on for the wait but then failed to check back in or offer anything for the longer than anticipated wait. The food itself was tasty, but the portion sizes were a little on the small side after a long wait. The restaurant itself was beautiful, and convenient for those staying at the Hilton Garden, but the wait staff was unprepared and the experience lacked overall for the price point.

Forced to pay for a set menu, then found that they didn't actually have a lot of the menu options. The one dessert choice we were stuck with tasted like a yoga mat. And not a good one either. Plus they offered a chicken pie that was just chicken with no actual pie. What a scam. Go literally anywhere else.

Dinner with another couple on Saturday night. Located in Denver's first firehouse and names after one of the original firemen. Great location behind the train station in renovated firehouse. Not crowded but enough buzz at the bar to be interesting. Really liked the short menu, shows that the kitchen takes pride in what they put out, and everything we had was good. We had the house made burrata, the arugula salad, and the beet salad to start and share. Then on to the steak, the scallops, and the sea bass. All good. Scallops were mine and perfectly cooked. Dessert choices, again just three, but one of them was a riff on s'mores. We didn't try it, but will next time.

Thank you so much for dining with us! Please do come back. Our Winter menu is here! Insiders say that the brown butter cake on the dessert menu is "heavenly" There are also several new menu items. The menu changes seasonally so there is always something new to try!
Bon Appetite!

Our waitress was very pleasant and friendly. We ordered the Alaskan King Crab Benedict and Brunch Fried Rice. Both were wonderful. The crab butter hollandaise was the best we ever had. The chili vinegar in the fried rice was tasty

Visited Wednesday and had a great Strip
Loin Steak. Delicious!!
Went back Friday night. Toss up between this and local Italian restaurant. Went for Woodie Fisher because of how Wednesday’s steak was so delicious. Got to the counter, had to go with the special $45 Appetizer, Entree, dessert option in order to eat in dining room and not to have to sit at bar.
Steak was still tasty, but 2 oz smaller and full of gristle. Lost 1/4 of steak to this. Ordered Tiramisu as the dessert. Lady fingers were so hard they went flying when cut. Basically hard lady fingers with whipped cream spread on top with a few sprinkles of chocolate. A total dessert disaster. The waitress took $5 off the total Bill even tho we both sent our back. Sadly this is our last night in Denver so won’t get a chance to visit the Italian restaurant. No doubt it has to be better than our Friday night experience at Woodie Fisher!

We are quite bummed to hear that your Restaurant Week experience and dining was a bummer. Our Restaurant Week menu is usually one of the most popular in town, and we are sad to see that it was a miss during your visit. We hope you will give us another try next time you are in town to show that is not the norm.

Almost everything was done to perfection. The salad with panchetta was on the fatty side, but the other salads were excellent - Nicoise, beet, and sunchoke were terrific blends of flavors. The cod and deconstructed chicken pot pie main dishes were excellent. The steak was ordinary and the accompanying mushrooms a bit chewy. For dessert, the brownie was very good and the bread pudding superb. Service friendly if a bit slow. Prices a bit high. Atmosphere interesting though a little noisy.

We went for brunch and had the most amazing service! Brandee is outstanding!!! She was so kind, caring & her attention to detail was spot on. It was a gorgeous day and we sat outside. My friend brought her dog & Brandee was so loving with him. Dave was great too!
Food was delicious, I highly recommend the eggs Benedict with fresh crab! We will be back!

Came on a Sunday morning fairly early. We were seating immediately and brought water. Our party was slowly waking up, so we were eventually all together, but I appreciated that our entire party didn't have to be there at the same time.
They have a great menu and one of the unique items is Filipino fried rice. Coming from a Filipino household, it's rare to find Filipino influenced food especially in Denver. This was such a treat and was delicious. Not quite traditional longganisa but I loved the spin on it. Sara made sure that were taken care of, and it was a great experience. This spot may be in a hotel however it would be a great date night spot and is very walkable in the city!
I plan on coming back and had a wonderful experience. Highly recommend for breakfast and will keep you posted on how dinner goes.
Overall 5/5!

We had breakfast and dinner here. We stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Union Station.
For dinner our waiter was Justin & he was great -efficient & friendly. We each had a beet salad as a starter. The salad was unique and delicious! We shared a cheeseburger as our main dish. It was very tasty. I think the type of cheese made all the difference. The fries were perfectly cooked. (There were many unique choices on the menu. We just weren’t that hungry.)
We went back for breakfast. The menu was large & diverse. It was a little too haute cuisine or designer for this Iowa gal. We settled on pancakes, eggs& bacon. The pancakes were very good. There was something unusual about them but they were huge & good!
Everything else was tasty.
The only “bad” thing was the coffee. It came out lukewarm & when he asked for it to be warmed up -still too cool to enjoy.
The dessert options did not appeal to us.
Our waitress was Liz & she did a great job of dealing with us. Pleasant & efficient.
The nighttime manager (from Aspen) was fantastic about explaining the building’s history. It was an old firehouse which is now on the historic registry.

Delicious breakfast : the pancakes are amazing, the waffles too. The french toast is alright but it could be better. The service was very slow when I showed up at 6 am and the day after I went later and it was faster. The dinner is good as well.

Amazing restaurant attached to the Hilton Garden Inn Union Station. Dinner & cocktails were excellent and Bianca provided us outstanding friendly service!! The pork chop dinner was fantastic. The history of the building, one of the first hose fire houses in Denver, provided a great atmosphere. We also had an excellent breakfast one morning. Do not miss this hidden gem!!
