We took a small plates approach with a lovely Pinot and rounded out a great birthday week. Parking can be a challenge, go with valet.

While visiting Denver we asked a friend where she might suggest we go for dinner. She said her favourite restaurant in Denver was Root Down. She is a "foody" so we went. Great service with excellent locally sourced food. An open grill. The place was bustling. Good wine list. Recommend without hesitation unless you want a quiet dinner.

I was so excited to finally go to an exceptional vegan friendly restaurant! My husband, who is a meat-eater, was also very satisfied with his scallops and said that they were the best he has ever had! I had the corn risotto with the veggie burger sliders. They also have excellent cocktails! Be sure to order the prickly pear martini!... More

Root Down has a foodie menu and good food. Their mixology special cocktails are special. You need a reservation for sure, it's popular. Our table was a bit disappointing though. We were not in main dining room but at a small table in a small room near the bar. Wouldn't meant to sit there again, so ask.

Root Down has a very down home feel. The food is delicious. Nice place for any type of evening. The noise level is like having all of your relatives over for dinner.

I think they have it all, vegetarian, vegan, gluten. Appetizers are more affordable, meals are extravagant.

Not just a restaurant, it is an invitation to dining as a gourmet of carefully created health & world wise foods and beverages. Every time I go I try something new and everything is good! A bit on the expensive side but well worth it.

Description
Root Down aims to connect the neighborhood to a dining experience in the same way ingredients are connected to food. There should be a seamless bond between the elements and experience, which stimulates the senses and draws people in. Root Down serves “globally influenced seasonal cuisine,” which basically means we go where inspiration leads us. We’re not tied to one style or genre—we’re hoping to create one of our own. At Root Down we pride ourselves on striving to solve the ‘Omnivore’s Dilemma.’ We have created a dining spot where all dietary needs will be accommodated, including vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free; also allergies or intolerances are always handled professionally by the kitchen team. Our menu has icons reflecting this philosophy, though we always request you notify your server of specific needs. We look forward to seeing you soon!
