The restaurant reminds us of a Parisian bistro that we would find on a side street away from tourist crowds . Cozy atmosphere, attentive (without hovering)wait staff, and no need to shout to your dining partner because of noisy diners. The padded booths allow for quiet...conversation. Try the signature cocktail , the French 75 - it can become habit forming. We had the scallops and the sole - very good! The crab cake is just the right texture and flavor as well.More

My husband and I both ordered escargot. I don't know if it was the cheese but they were greasy. I took mine off the plate and let them drain and let them drain but that helped. My husband ordered beef bourgeoisen. It was tender but...bland. I ordered the sole. The entire dish seemed greasy. I would not recommend this restaurant. The only positive was our waitress. She was awesome.More

We came for dinner before attending a concert. We caught the end of their "Green Hour" (an absinthe reference). We skipped the absinthe, but enjoyed drinks and a couple of starters in the bar before dinner. The Chimney is a serious cocktail! Lucky for us,...on Tuesday nights they offer a multi-course dinner for $55. Select wines also available at steep discounts. Food was very good, service was friendly. We'll be looking for a chance to go to Denver again on a Tuesday night.More

I love the concept of the all-night "Green Hour" on Saturday nights at the bar at French 75, which is also available Monday-Friday from 3-6. The wide variety of small plates available along with the drink specials make it hard to beat for value. However,...my service experience while visiting last night with my wife was disappointing. On our only previous visit the bar was not quite as busy last night, but was manned by a solo bartender as opposed to the three who were there last night. The solo bartender occasionally fell behind on our orders and periodically left us unattended, but far than made up for this by sending complimentary items for us to try. Last night, we and several of the other patrons felt ignored for extended periods of time. Cocktails and water glasses were often empty, and we watched several bar patrons leave after a single round due to the lack of attention, while some others made their disappointment know to the management on duty. In spite of the service snafus, each beverage and food item was delicious and the food items arrived reasonably timely after ordering. Favorite dishes were the fritto mixte and the spinach croquettes, while the escargot( not on the happy hour menu) were a bit disappointing due the abundance of (tasty) cheese which overpowered the escargot themselves. We had been planning to bring our four children to French 75 for dinner next month based upon our previous visit. However, based upon last night's service, we are currently unsure and considering other options.More

the restaurant is beautiful, menu interesting, service attentive but every dish was so salty we couldn't taste the flavors. I rarely leave a dish unfinished and am a salt lover but couldn't eat more than a few bites of the arugula in the beet salad...and left half the mussels and frites because everything was so salty. the server was very accommodating and reduced our bill. overall an ok experience but I doubt we will go back.More

Ornate small slice of heaven. We had a party of 18 and this was a remarkable find in the heart of downtown, Denver. We were treated to delicious foods, a large assortment of wines and delightful desserts. We will be coming back!!

I went to this cute little bistro twice last week with different coworkers. The happy hour is out of this world - really great red and white house wines for $5 per glass and excellent bubbles for $22 per bottle. They also have a good...selection of cocktails. The food menu is varied and inexpensive as well, though we didn't stay long enough to eat. Everything we saw brought out looked amazing though. Going back ASAP!More

Enjoyed an excellent dinner here. The atmosphere is clean, sophisticated and welcoming. Plenty of seating options, from booths for 2 or 4, to seating at the bar. The wine list is extensive, also offering a good selection of wines by the glass. There are also...some interesting specialty cocktails. The "Autumn Song", a combination of bourbon, Benedictine and cognac, among other ingredients, was outstanding. Now, as to food, we enjoyed a filet - one can choose 4, 6 or 8 oz. - along with creamed spinach, and a perfectly prepared salmon with asparagus and whipped potatoes. Everything was perfect. Our server, Laszlo, was professional, accommodating and added to the winning experience. Definitely worth visiting.More

Popped in here because it was close to the hotel and had good reviews. We were not disappointed. Had a lovely white burgundy and split the seared foie gras. Hubs had lobster bisque and lyonnaise salad. I had the bouillabaisse. Everything was cooked perfectly and...oh so delicious. Service was unrushed and very professional. Atmosphere was elegant without being pretentious. Highly recommend.More

The atmosphere is very good and the food was very yummy. It was disappointing that they charged for bread and butter, but the cocktails were delicious! I had the short ribs but had to send the mashed potatoes back since they were Luke warm. The...short ribs were succulent and soooo tasty! Desserts were yummy!More

They offer convenient valet parking. The fee for the parking is included on your dinner bill - and the car is waiting when you walk out of the restaurant. The cost is in keeping with any downtown parking, and it removes the... More
