On a recent trip to Denver, my wife and I wanted to try beer from a few places, and saw many great reviews of Briar Common. We figured it would be a particularly good option for us since we wanted to get lunch, and they have a full restaurant/food menu in addition to beer options. It turned out to be well worth our time.
We visited on a Sunday afternoon when they offer Sunday brunch (basically their standard lunch menu + some breakfast options), and I was glad we had made a reservation. The place is small on the inside and it was packed that day. We were seated immediately and thought it had a good vibe – it was loud and energetic, with the usual industrial feel of most breweries.
Service was good throughout the meal, and it worked perfectly for us that we could get a flight to try several beers. The flights featured four 4-oz pours of anything on the beer list other than the cider. We aren’t beer connoisseurs by any means, but enjoyed the beers we got and thought the flight was more than enough for us quantity-wise to take us through our lunch. We particularly liked the Hobart with Peach and the Broken Bridge.
For food, we started with the buffalo cauliflower, since I had read it was their best appetizer and most tables around us seemed to have it. We actually didn’t love this, even though we usually love anything with buffalo flavor. The spice was a bit much, to the point that we couldn’t eat very much of the very large portion (most other people didn’t seem to make a huge dent in theirs either). There also needed to be a bit more blue cheese with it to help counteract all the spice. Unless you want super spicy buffalo cauliflower, I’d skip this one.
For entrées, we tried one fried chicken sandwich and one Beer-BQ Burger, which includes bacon, cheese, onion rings, and BBQ sauce. The burger was huge and messy, but tasted very good, and the fried chicken sandwich was good too. We both were quite happy with our sandwiches. I would say the food was good enough that I’d recommend coming here for lunch, but I’m not necessarily rushing back solely for the food. In conjunction with the beer, it made for a great Sunday afternoon visit.

Had lunch after a nearby hike. I had the Bacon Cheeseburger with BBQ sauce and it was cooked perfectly and came with a huge side of house made potato chips. It was one of the best burgers I've had. Somebody else ordered the fried chicken sandwich and thought it was delicious. The 3rd lunch entre was eggs benedict and also was spot on. I would have given 5 stars, but we went back the next day and it was inconsistent. They screwed up one burger order and it had to be sent back. They took it off the bill, so kudos to them. I got the chicken sandwich and it was just not good this time. Bottom line, it was so good the first time I'd give them another shot. I think you should too. Beer was good and they let you sample first if you are unsure.

Briar Common Brewery + Eatery is the perfect choice for couples looking for awesome beer and uniquely delicious food. The service was also well above average.
Recommendation: Chicken Shawarma and the Cauliflower Buffalo Wings.

Service and beer were great! Food was on a greasy side. We had Midnight Stout and High Desert for beer. We also got Buffalo Cauliflower, Fried Brussel Sprouts, Southwest salad and Fish & Chips. The last two were really good!

Briar Common Brewery is a busy neighborhood bar. Service by our waiter Chad was efficient and friendly, and the food and drinks were good. It's obvious this is a place with returning customers (you could tell by the way customers were being welcomed back at the entrance). The interior is lovely and I recommend this bar as a place to spend time with friends and family.

Once we sat down they brought to us, without asking, 4 beer samples. We wound up selecting 1 of them and a few more styles we liked. Lunch was mac and cheese with an entire, yes, entire steak over it cooked to perfection. Places was packed and now I understand why. Go check them out!

So they advertised reservations for “Pliny the Younger” on the release date. We arrive at 7 pm. They tell us “we sold all the beer to walk-ins”. We made a reservation specifically for the beer (and to eat while we were trying g the Pliny of course). Why do the bait and switch? $$$
Will never return!

Such a cool, charming, fun and vibrant location. Very good. Service was outstanding. Lauren was our server before a hockey game just after the new year. I skipped a drink or beer but wish I hadn’t because they have some nice looking cocktails and beers. I had chicken schwarma flatbread and my friend had a Reuben sandwich. Fries were great. Really cool spot I can’t wait to go back!!!

Good beer, food and service; however we sat very close to a table of four children seated without an adult/parent. The parents were seated elsewhere and did not supervise the children properly. The children were noisy, unseated and even on the floor, needless to say, very annoying. This ruined our dining experience. The parents did not have respect for other customers and the brewery did not intervene to provide all customers with a pleasant experience. We went to an upscale brewery and felt as if we were in McDonald's. We will not go back and don't recommend this brewery to others.

The food was exceptional and the beer was amazing. But better than either of those, the staff was the best I have ever had the pleasure of being served by. We came before a concert at Empowered stadium, so they were completely crazy busy. That did not stop the staff from being the most remarkable servers and treating all the guests, from to go’s to sit down, with awesome service. Can’t wait to go back. #notyouraveragebrewery

Very accommodating for my gluten free needs. Great salad and was able to eat their fries because they do use a separate fryer! Great food, staff and atmosphere!

What a great place to chill at the bar, with a generous flight of beer. Bartenders super friendly, gave great advice for things to do in Denver area. Food was fantastic.

Our first meal in the Jefferson park area was phenomenal! Started with a house salad and finished with the Mac n cheese with steak. Amelia our waitress was extremely attentive and we will certainly be back! Also enjoyed their old fashioned. A+
