A friend who is a gourmet chef recommended this place and he was right! We had the house salad with ginger dressing, a special sushi of the day that had sea urchin on top, godzilla rolll, Colorado roll, Ryu roll. So delicious. Fantastic service. Reservations...are recommended. It’s a little pricey but so worth it.More

Last minute reservations. Amazing table. Right in front of chef. Waiter fun and educational. We opted for chefs choice and a top shelf bottle of sake. BTW ronin refers to am independent samurai, historically.

Service was excellent, but I've never seen such small pieces of sushi. This includes the sushi nigiri, the gyoza, the specialty rolls, the baked mussels, etc. It all tasted as would be expected in an average sushi restaurant, but the ridiculousness of the size of...each piece was unbelievable. Miniature at best, although the taste and presentation were good. And the prices were outrageous. Best to eat before you go there. Haven't written a review in a long time, but I feel this is more of a warning. Very overrated.More

Food was really good, but the staff is what makes this place great. You can tell these people enjoy their jobs and as someone who has worked in the industry it is great to see! Thank you for a lovely evening, the recommendations on where...to visit after dinner, and laughs! I didn't get our server's name but he had a great smile, hot beard, and super sweet...and to his coworker that had a butt to die for...you're fab! 😂 Thanks again guys! Hope to visit again some time soon!More

I really don't like writing negative reviews: usually I prefer to say nothing and I am always conscious that a negative review can hurt someone's business and I don't want to do that unless I truly believe it is fair to post a bad review....However, I do also appreciate it when other people's reviews warn to avoid somewhere or find a better alternative. This review is posted in that spirit. I was at Sushi Ronin towards the end of happy hour and took advantage of the reduced prices for a range of dishes. Even so, my bill was $63 for one [hungry] person and for that sum I do expect high quality. I tried five types of sushi, chicken karaage, vegetable tempura plus house sake and an Orion beer. The tempura was not exactly greasy but the batter was not dry and clean as it should be. The karaage was OK. The nigiri sushi were poorly made: the fish did not stick properly to the rice and the rice was not properly moulded - the result was that every single piece fell apart as soon as it was picked up. Service was varied. It took a while for someone to come over and take the order but generally was pleasant and acceptably attentive. The biggest weakness at Sushi Ronin is not the service but whoever was preparing the food, especially the sushi. For the cost and quality I cannot recommend this restaurant.More

Just tried Sushi Ronin for the first time. Great experience. Sushi Chef, Johnny, was super friendly and did a great job. My server, Whitney, was professional, helpful, engaging and fun. Super good time. Can’t wait to go back.

As a family of four, we ordered the omakase. All of tge dishes were very good to excellent; and the quality of the ingredients was very high. Standouts were the grilled scallops, the king salmon, and the eel (though the sauce was a touch too...sweet). Only indoor tables were available (it was March), and the indoor space is a bit small. Regarding the service, our server had a good manner, but contact was limited for 15-20 minutes after ordering, and at times we felt a bit neglected (though the servers didn’t have many tables to serve). So I’d suggest they make an effort to check in with their guests a bit more often. The wine and beer list was limited, but the beers and sauvignon blanc we ordered were very nice with the meal.More

Staff is friendly. Never overly crowded. Sushi is AMAZING. Definitely recommend getting the off menu pickles mushrooms. I haven’t had anything bad here, and we usually go once or twice a month.

We came here for the Uni. We had both options with several other items for dinner. The California Uni vs. the Japanese Uni is no comparision. While they were both fresh, the Japanese Uni was seriously yummy! So creamy and good! The Ronin Roll as...fab as was the other Sushi items we ordered.More

Sushi quality is high yet service was sporadic and it took 30+ minutes to get two rolls after other appetizers and rolls had been brought to table. With so many other good sushi options in Denver Id be hard pressed to return to Ronin unless...friends/family requested it. The parking is limited to valet or street as it is in the heart of LoHi and near several other restaurants.More

We decided to take a break from Sushi Den & try something new. We’re so glad we did. The sushi is fresh & dishes very creative. Loved the 4 varieties of seaweed in the salad, sushi specials, and innovative but not too sweet cocktails. The...flavors at Sushi Ronin are more complex & sophisticated than Sushi Den. Our server Dante made it feel like we were getting Personalized service in the open, but intimate dining room.More

In celebration of our anniversary, my husband and I made reservations to eat at Sushi Ronin. As it was a special night, we were hoping for a nice dinner and maybe some upscale elements found in Denver Highlands. We were not disappointed. The staff were...welcoming and we were seated promptly. It grew a bit chilly and the hostess made note and closed the wide front sliding windows without me having to say a word. Our server, Peter, shared some of his recommendations and experience with Japan as we asked questions and added comments about the food and drinks. His insight was not only helpful but entertaining as we navigated the menu. Our evening was filled with nagiri, rolls, sake, specials, Colorado, Godzilla, Japanese whiskey and chocolate mochi cake. It wasn’t cheap (about $140 for two), but with drinks, 6 dishes plus dessert on a special night, it was well worth the cost! Though we went for a special date, the vibe of Sushi Ronin is comfortable enough for relaxed date nights and even casual dinners out if you don’t arrive quite as hungry as we were. Definitely a place I hope to return to soon!More

Cool room, great team and some of the freshest sushi around. Creative rolls very authentic. Not the crazy rolls you get at other sushi restaurants but they will make you want. Just ask to see if they can do it. Really order what they have....They have the passion for sushi and other Japanese options. Black Cod was amazing. Omakase could be the way to go if your table is up for it. Will I Go Back ? Yes!!! Loved it and would want to go with smaller group and enjoy the patio on a warm Summer night and the delicious cocktails or sakeMore

I was looking to grab a lighter meal and decide to find some Japanese food. After looking through yelp, I decided to stop by and try their omakase instead of the 7 course meal. I wasn't sure if I could eat 7 courses. Good thing...because I was stuffed after the 5 courses! I sat at the bar and Allon was my chef. He was a pleasure to chat with and he made sure all my courses were timed perfectly. The courses: Kumamoto oysters - really good with the ponzu and very fresh Sashimi with chili oil (forgot the type of fish) - loved the kick of the chili oil Sashimi - all 3 types of fish were very fresh and the pickled wasabi was a delight Variety of grilled goodies - the Shishito wrapped eggplant was surprisingly good Miso cod - great miso flavor without being too sweet. I was stuffed! It's great to find a gem for sushi in Denver. This city's dining scene has really upped its game!More

Waiter was very helpful for us considering that we don't know sushi very well. We are from a smaller town that only has a couple of sushi places, and everything there is pretty standard. Here there is a much greater variety of offerings. Everything was...well prepared and beautifully presented.More
