Late lunch around 3 on a weekday while vacationing, place was understandably fairly empty due to the time of day but our server was very good, even though she usually works upstairs at the casino, she said. I had the taco salad with ground beef with plenty of sour cream on the side and slices of avocado on top, which was great and he got a pulled pork sandwich with fries...he thought the fries were a bit overdone but loved the sandwich with cole slaw. He had a Bloody Mary and I had a margarita and both were quite good. Reasonable prices especially for a tourist area.

We tried to eat here as a family - no kids allowed. The person they greeted us did direct us to the only other restaurants that allow children - Century, Wildwood, and Lombard’s in the Double Eagle Hotel. I believe Home cafe does as well.

The food was mostly awful. Two of us had sandwiches, a French dip and a Reuben. Not bad, just meh. One had the pot roast. The meat and vegetables tasted like they came from a TV dinner, the gravy was clearly from a powder and the potatoes were from a box. The fourth person ordered a burger well done. Apparently, whoever was cooking didn’t know that there is a difference between that and burnt. The burger literally crunched when she bit into it and sounded like a drum when she tapped it with a fork. We ended up getting it taken off of the bill at least but no one ever apologized or offered a replacement. The only reason I gave them 2 stars is because of our sweet waitress from Arkansas. The rest of the service was as bad as the food. Three words: Don’t do it.

I have dined here before many times and been satisfied as it is one of the few restaurants open mid week in Cripple Creek. This time I was told that I cannot order a bottle of wine with dinner. Further questioning revealed that it is a State Gaming Commission law that has nothing to do with the virus and applies to all casino restaurants in the entire State. The only alternative was a cheap boxed wine which I describe as plonk and available at most casino restaurants. Is this a scam of some kind? Only one brand (Villa) is available. Needless to say we left disappointed and will not return until this draconian law is changed.

We read other reviews before selecting Maggies for dinner, and thought this place sounds great. We were beyond disappointed. The only positive was our waitress who was extremely polite and attentive. My husband got a cheeseburger and it was overcooked and like a brick. The fries were bland and a little blah. He barely touched his food. I ordered the chicken fried steak with a side salad. The salad was the best of the meal. Frozen, then fried steak, instant mashed potatoes and gravy from a powder or jar. How hard is it to make fresh mashed potatoes? It was comparable to a frozen meal. Hopefully the owners and cooks will read this review and improve. Simple changes can result in much better food!

I had the blackened steak salad. When it came out, I thought the meat was burned and would taste terrible. However, when I put it in mouth, the meat almost melted in my mouth. The Cajun spices were very spicy and delicious. All the plates which were bought out to the customers looked just as appetizing as my husband"s and mine. Even though there was only one waitress working at the time, she did an excellent job of keeping everyone happy and well fed. She greeted everyone as if they were a long-lost friend.

I ordered the Rueben at Dinner time and was disappointed with the amount of meat on my sandwich. Three thin slices of Corned Beef. I had to send it back because one half of the sandwich was burned. When I asked the server why there was such little meat, she replied that they now have to adhere to what management has told them for serving size of food. For the price I paid $10.95 it should have more meat. Never had such a bad experience in Cripple Creek. Also, the cleanliness of the dining room was also bad. Tables sticky and smeared.

The first think you may become aware of is the number of casinos in Cripple Creek. It seemed like there were way too many for such a small town – several small ones on multiple blocks of the main street. Maggie’s is a restaurant in the bottom of the Colorado Grande Casino. They are admittedly understaffed (acknowledged on a sign requesting understanding), but the servers and wait staff worked very hard and were focused on their customers (ours was #1005 – C. Quaels and he was great!). We came for lunch and it was very good. Their basic cheeseburger with onion rings upgrade was really good, although cooked a bit beyond the medium request. The Reuben with fries was excellent but was too much to eat. All reasonably priced. We definitely recommend Maggie’s in Cripple Creek for lunch.

After our hotel check-in, it was almost 9 pm, so we were very limited in dinner options, as most places close at or before 9 (which was surprising in a town full of casinos; maybe they're just a weekend kinda place). We ended up trying Maggie’s Restaurant in one of the casinos, and it was a good choice. Our waitress was very friendly; I wish I had made a note of her name (it was something Swedish sounding), because she did an excellent job. The food was reasonably priced. My french dip was tasty. My husband got a club sandwich, and while the bacon was extremely salty, the sandwich, as a whole, was fantastic. The battered fries were hot and really good.

I dont think Cripple Creek is overflowing with eateries. The Casinos seem to try and get people to eat in the casions etc and there doesnt seem to be much of a choice when looking for an evening meal not surrounded by slot machines. We kinda ended up in Maggies as there was hardly anywhere else to go in the evening - but it was fortunate as this place was actually quite good. Although it wasnt busy the staff were friendly and attentive.... we chose rack of spare ribs and (typically) underestimated the amount of food that was about to appear at the table. Huge portions and quality meat as well. Far too stuffed for a desert. We took a reasonable amount of spare ribs back with is in a doggy bag and it tasted great the next morning also. All in all very happy with Maggies.

I fully agree with other reviewers that Cripple Creek suffers from a dearth of decent eateries. I used to enjoy the Steakhouse in Broncos Billy’s but that closed some time back. Tonight I tried Maggie’s and was very pleasantly surprised. Tucked away in the bottom floor of the small Colorado Grande Casino, Maggie’s is a very pleasant respite from the gaudy casinos that line the Main Street. It’s quiet and the tasteful decor provides a nice dining ambiance. Judging from 2022 reviews, Maggie’s suffered from the same worker shortage that affected many places. They seem to have overcome that problem. We were there early but they had a good cadre of wait staff on hand. AND each member of that staff was anxious to help make our dining experience a pleasant one. We enjoyed the St. Louis style rib dinner. Well prepared with a tasty bar-b-que sauce, the ribs were plentiful and excellent. Accompanying mashed potatoes and mixed veggies were quite tasty, tho they could’ve both been hotter for my taste (my only criticism on the night). The mixed salad with very chunky blue cheese dressing was equally tasty. We don’t drink so I cannot comment on the bar service and we were too full from dinner to checkout their desserts. Menu pricing seemed very fair, lower than most restaurants in the Colorado Springs area for similar meals. Overall, a very good experience!

This was really bad. Our waiter was new and untrained. The manager? Avoided helping and it was bad on so many levels. We were seated quickly and given waters by a very pleasant bus person (?). Then we waited for our waiter. Our order was taken snd we waited again. Another 2 tables were seated and served drinks while we waited for 2 bottles of beer and a glass of wine. My husband ask if we could have our drinks and we got the two bottles of beer, no glasses received or offered. The wine arrived in a few minutes. The other tables received their orders. We waited. Our entrees were served and one of our party received a rare steak. She ordered med rare, it was so full of gristle and fat, it was inedible. The entrees had large portions of frozen mixed vegetables. We told the manager we hadn’t received our salads, She offered to go make them for us, but since the salad was FREE? There was no refund possible. Other tables got their salads after their entrees and sent their mixed drinks back. Truly a waste of money and time.

To be fair it was only the second day of the casinos opening after Covid, but this was the worst breakfast I have ever had. I ordered the huevos rancheros. It was bowl of warm hash browns at best, with the most blad green chili I have ever tasted. It was basicly a bowl of mush. We were the second table to be occupied when we arrived and had to wait a good bit to have our order taken.

Nothing fancy, but good food and service. I had the french dip and hubby had the burger-- both had DELICIOUS onion rings as side. Only down side was the onion rings were a $4 upcharge which seemed a little pricey to me, but they were yummy. Overall recommend.
