Run, don't walk to this place. It fills up pretty fast, so get reservations no matter when you want to go. But the experience is as close to "going to Grandma's" as you can imagine.

The best fried chicken. They have a steak option but stick with the fried chicken, it's worth the splurge. You can burn it off on the slopes. Large portions and as much as you want. The biscuits are to die for. The service is always amazingly friendly. Slogar's is a must every time we come to Crested Butte. We've been... More

We looked up this place for dinner after some friends told us about it. Started that the server that was pleasant never mention they serve steak, as a sub to Chicken. But we were more interested in the Chicken. The meal was served and tasted good but the gravy as someone else mentioned is thin, not chicken gravy and cold.... More

If you have an opportunity, do not miss Slogars. This is home cooking at its best. Fried chicken is outstanding, portions are more then generous and everything is delicious. The chutney prior to the meal is also great.

This is a "family style" fried chicken place. I received a chicken thigh that was cut half in two and was attached to the chicken back. What this piece included was half of the thigh and one forth of the back. When I was a kid our family eat the entire chicken including the back. When I am paying $25... More

We've eaten here on each of our trips to Crested Butte over the last twenty-plus years. The menu has never changed, and we like that. The chicken pieces seemed smaller and not quite as tender on this visit, but the meal was still very good. You get plenty of food here, and it's all good.

If you want some home style fried chicken with all the fixings, go to Slogar. Start with Cottage Cheese, Chutney and veggie plate then Fried Chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy and corn plus fresh biscuits. Finish with ice cream and chocolate sauce. They also have a steak option but haven't tried it because the chicken is so good.

This is a fired chicken place that serves the food family style. It is okay for families or a quick dinner. It can be over crowded and the service can suffer

I find the place a little closed in for a big group but I love thier mashed potatoes and green beans; as well as pan fried chicken.
