We had a large group so they put us in the back room. The front room looked livelier but I understand why we were in back. Great atmosphere, what you would expect in a CO mountain town. Everyone had good meals from trout to steak and the kids menu. Not the cheapest place but for a resort town not unreasonable.

Had the bison burger for linch here. Nice atmosphere, good food, but considerably overpriced for what I received.

Went looking for some of my favorite bourbons and found it a bit lacking, good service and a great atmosphere. Bar was short staffed and the bartender seemed covered up, hence the refills were a little slow.

We had hiked over to Crested Butte from Aspen, on a perfect summer's day and the Wooden Nickel had just what we were looking for - great local ambiance (with a touch of sophistication), and a solid steak-house style menu. Simple - not too many choices and unfussy food, (ill-advised for vegetarians) but everything was excellent. The service was terrific... More

I wouldn't make a major effort to go here again. The food was really good but bit great. Service was average. On a special paleo diet and not any gluten free or dairy free options as far as side dishes.

I love Crested Butte and had been to the Wooden Nickel many years ago. I had a $39.95 NY strip steak which came only with a baked potato. The potato was not all that good, long over baked. But the steak was worse. Mostly gristle and fairly thin. This is not a $40 steak. What a shame. I could not... More

Arrived in town rather late. Stopped in for quick meal of prime rib sandwich and hubby had buffalo burger. Very good and easy meal. Kind and courteous server. Apple pie for dessert was awesome. Decor was cool.

First time there, wont be back. Steak was fine, elk was good. Baked potato was undercooked. Had to ask for butter for the potato. I realize this is resort real estate, but for $40 they could get the food cooked properly,. No amenities, no salad, no bread, no extra perks of any kind. Waitress tried to pass Wagu beef as... More

We went for drinks in the afternoon, the owner was in the house and greeted us with a smile. Nice wine and beer selection, warm fire in the bar.
