You gotta check this off your list... Just one of those kind of places. I had the Elk Tenderloin.. "Trademark Delicious"

Despite reading other reviews that described this restaurant as overpriced we went here when we couldn't get a reservation at the Prime Elk next door. What a mistake! For $40 you get a modest serving of beef (its quality was good but not exceptional) and a baked potato. You pay extra for a salad and for any topping on the... More

We stopped in for a couple of cocktails and possibly for dinner. The barmaid was not attentive to our needs. In fact at the end of the bar was a group of "locals" and her attention was so focused on them, we were literally ignored. We opted not to stay for dinner. Will never return again.

My food was OK. Nothing to write home about. The decor was entertaining. Felt like it was expensive for what we received.

This place's claim to fame is it's portion sizes, which isn't very hard to do. I suppose if you love steak go here and try it out, but if you're looking for anything else just keep walking. We went in the summer and it was incredibly hot inside, hotter than outside, but they couldn't turn off the heat for some... More

We had a large group so they put us in the back room. The front room looked livelier but I understand why we were in back. Great atmosphere, what you would expect in a CO mountain town. Everyone had good meals from trout to steak and the kids menu. Not the cheapest place but for a resort town not unreasonable.

Had the bison burger for linch here. Nice atmosphere, good food, but considerably overpriced for what I received.

Went looking for some of my favorite bourbons and found it a bit lacking, good service and a great atmosphere. Bar was short staffed and the bartender seemed covered up, hence the refills were a little slow.

We had hiked over to Crested Butte from Aspen, on a perfect summer's day and the Wooden Nickel had just what we were looking for - great local ambiance (with a touch of sophistication), and a solid steak-house style menu. Simple - not too many choices and unfussy food, (ill-advised for vegetarians) but everything was excellent. The service was terrific... More

I wouldn't make a major effort to go here again. The food was really good but bit great. Service was average. On a special paleo diet and not any gluten free or dairy free options as far as side dishes.
