This place had a wonderful Filet! Great flavor, tender and just mouth watering as you waited for the next bite. Has a nice bar atmosphere with great staff.

We walked in after reading the menu outside. Very cute and authentic western bar. There were maybe three other tables, quiet Sunday night. Waitress barely looked at us when we ordered, seemed distracted and disinterested. No attempt to connect or speak to us. We were made to feel that we were wasting her time. Food was just ok, pricey and... More

We decided to dine here after reviewing their outdoor menu and the blackboard upon entering. We chose the $29.95 prime rib. As soon as we ordered, our server notified us they only serve prime rib on Friday. It's a shame the blackboard didn't clarify this since this is the reason we came inside to dine. We already had drinks when... More

Been eating at the Nickel for over twenty years. I thoroughly enjoy their smoked trout appetizer. Their burger or OD's Chicken sandwich are awesome. If you want a unusual treat, get the Elk Tenderloin. They also do a great homemade soup. Service is good and friendly and the ambience is cool.

Ordered surf n' turf. Crab legs were dry and not good. Prime rib was fine, nothing special. Disappointed considering the cost.

We've been coming to the Nickle for years and very little has changed. The menu, the taste of the food, the decor, and the portion sizes have pretty well stayed the same. I usually don't order the steaks here because I think they are about $15 (or more) over priced on all of them. Don't get me wrong, they've always... More

I have eaten at the Wooden Nickel many times over several years. The food is consistently excellent, the wait staff efficient, attentive, and yet playful, A good bar. It is a fun place to enjoy an evening with a date or friends. It can be noisy and as my ability to hear has decreased over the years that can be... More

Despite reading other reviews that described this restaurant as overpriced we went here when we couldn't get a reservation at the Prime Elk next door. What a mistake! For $40 you get a modest serving of beef (its quality was good but not exceptional) and a baked potato. You pay extra for a salad and for any topping on the... More

We stopped in for a couple of cocktails and possibly for dinner. The barmaid was not attentive to our needs. In fact at the end of the bar was a group of "locals" and her attention was so focused on them, we were literally ignored. We opted not to stay for dinner. Will never return again.
