We have traveled extensively in Asia (including Nepal) and found the food at the Sherpa Cafe incredibly delicious. I had the vegetable korma, my husband had the vegetable curry, and our son had the chicken momo (dumplings). We had a side of naan with dates, which was probably the best naan I've ever had. The mango lassi was also great.... More

We eat Indian food pretty regularly and try different places when we travel. The food here was as good as any we've tried. The garlic naan was best we've ever eaten- flaky, great crust, soft in middle, butter and garlic, and tiny bit of spring onion made it perfect. Was not as heavy as some make it, sometimes it's a... The Chai is incredible. Very deep and full flavored. My husband had the lamb curry very spicy. It was impeccable! I had the chicken makhani, and loved it. We would definitely return. We were torn if we should have sushi, go to the Ginger cafe, or here. We feel we made the right choice!

When we are on vacation, we like to try to stop at places that are different than at home. We have had Nepalese once before and I enjoyed this more. Although I have had naan numerous times, I have never had naan with dates. It was amazing! I also had momos which were good. My husband enjoyed the Sherpa stew.The... More

If you are in the mood for exceptional Indian food (surprisingly enough) in a mountain town, this is for you. Excellent service goes with great, hearty meals. Hiking afterwards was a bit challenging but it was so delicious - from appetizers to the naan to the saag and more. We had to try it all! Reheats well to as the... More

We dined here over the 4th of July weekend. The food was very good. Our waitress advised us to not order or food as "hot", but instead suggested that we use their "spice oil" if we wanted to add additional heat. I am grateful for this suggestion. :)

I have eaten here 3 times and the food was always good, the service a little ragged but the experience was great.

I have been here three times. The Gunnison location is very good! The Crested Butte location lacks. There was a one woman cooking and serving, and she would not come out of the kitchen for fifteen minutes at a time. Every time they have been out of items, and the service has always been terrible. They really need to hire... More

Sherpa Cafe offers good and healthy Nepali and Indian food, which is not very sophisticated. Interior is simple and pleasant, from the window you can view Mountain Crested Butte. We like this restaurant and visit it when in Crested Butte.

This place is like a sad, bad joke. The menu described a dish of "Tibetan, home-made noodles", on the plate it was a small pile of reheated, store-bought spaghetti in an oily substance. Save yourself a disappointment, stay away. Don't start me about the service...
