Specializing in large portions of made from scratch meals. We offer a large menu, providing many options for vegetarian, gluten free and allergy sensitive guests. Great place for breakfast

Visiting Crested Butte for a quick get away during "pre-ski" season and not everything is open. What a nice surprise to walk in off the street to find happy staff and servers, generously sized breakfast portions of great food and a great price. And very COVID safe. We will return to this restaurant during our next trip to Crested Butte!

Delicious food!

My family and I ate ate McGill’s at exactly 11 a.m. so both lunch and breakfast were available (breakfast served all day I believe). I had the breakfast burrito and not only was it huge, it was absolutely delicious. My wife and son ordered other items and they agreed that this was some of the best food we’ve eaten. Friendly staff and clean restaurant, couldn’t ask for anything more.

Great Spot for Brunch

Brunch at McGill’s was a treat. We sat outside and started with Bloody Marys, Screwmosas and Kentucky Russians followed by Smoked Salmon Benedict, Veggie Scromlette, and Fiery Ghost Burger. The food, the service and the street activity atmosphere made for a pleasant break after a morning hike.

Be prepared to wait if ordering breakfast at noon

This was our first time visiting Crested Butte and McGill’s was recommended. We walked in the door at noon for breakfast. They advertise breakfast and lunch until 2:30pm. They were busy but they had open tables. The couple in front of us got seated and we did as well. We were able to order fairly quickly. We were seated in the back and could see the cooks since it’s all open. We watched all the orders going out and people coming and going. The couple seated before us got their lunch burgers way before us and were done and left before we were served our simple breakfast. The orders we saw being prepared were thick burgers and onion rings. We sat and sat waiting for our order of breakfast. Everyone that was after us had been served. The waitress came by once to ask if we needed any hot sauce. Finally after 45 minutes, we were served. I commented to waitress, “finally” as she brought our food. She had no response or apology. We ate and waitress came back and gave us our bill telling us she would come back to take care of it. Well, another 15 minutes and she never came back so we stopped another waitress asking if she could please take care of bill. She took it and said she would give it to our waitress. We waited and waited not knowing where our credit card disappeared to. Finally our waitress brought it back and we were able to leave. Never once was there an apology for the wait. A new crowd had began coming in but not busy. The only reason we give visit a 2 star is that we had no complaints on food. It was good. The service was subpar. Our guess was breakfast had to be pushed back as they were serving lunch, even though they advertise all day breakfast. We will be in town for a few days but will not frequent McGill’s again.

Great food and service!

Four of us enjoyed a delicious breakfast last weekend. We had everything from the veggie scromelette, to the all-American breakfast, and I had the daily special similar to huevos rancheros. None of us were disappointed!! We had no problem getting a table at 9:30 on a Sunday morning, but this place quickly fills up! Our server was great as well!

Delicious Brunch with Great Service

My husband and I had brunch here while recently in Crested Butte. It was a Sunday and VERY crowded, with a line outside of the door and down the sidewalk. We were put on a wait list and told to expect an hour and a half wait, (but that some people didn’t stick around so it could be earlier). It was more like 30-40 minutes before we were seated, and it was well worth the wait. We were seated at the bar in this old historic place with a rustic charm. The service was incredible, and the food even more so. We both omelets, mine was vegetarian. Glad we visited. And, we were told that Sundays were especially busy due to the farmers market and it being a weekend.

Late lunch

We went for a late lunch/Brunch. The service was excellent and the food was yummy. We sat near the window and watched people walk by on Elk Ave. We had the chicken salad sandwich ,Cabs, and soup of the day. A great little place. A plus place.

Really Great Mountain Dining Experience

Located in a beautiful, vintage building which once housed a dry goods store, McGills is a really tasty, quaint and friendly place for a meal. We happened to go for lunch but some customers were getting really good breakfast food too. We had burgers and were very pleased. The service was very good, very friendly and efficient. The prices were surprisingly reasonable for the areas. I'd highly recommend this place.

McGill has a well-deserved reputation for a very pleasant experience, typical of this friendly and upscale resort. The atmosphere was old-fashion, and wholesome with its creative version of every conceivable breakfast favorites. Biscuits and breads are house made. Syrup is maple. Breakfast meats are good quality and properly cooked. Instructions for egg prep and potato choices are properly followed. They easily accommodate vegetarians and other preferences. Service was attentive and prompt. Prices are high.

McGill’s Takes Me Back

The food at McGill‘s takes me back to my childhood and how we ate in cafés in the 50s and 60s. The food is outstanding comfort food and they also have unique dishes as well. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Not only is it a local hang out but they welcome visitors genuinely. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want quality food and great customer service. In addition, you will understand what a café was like in the old days.

A great 'rediscover' of McGill's

My husband & I both had the Grilled Chipotle Chicken Sandwich, and both of us thought it was great. I made a modification due to food allergies, and they handled it perfectly. Our waitress was friendly, attentive, and obviously had her act together! As a former waitress, I know how hard she was working but she performed her job flawlessly. There are several tables outside and we were lucky enough to get one after a short wait. Would definitely recommend eating here. (MANY years ago I used to eat breakfast here whenever I was in Crested Butte, and was great to discover it was still as good as I remember!)

A MUST for breakfast!

We were pleasantly surprised by McGills! Their breakfast fare is unmatched in the Crested Butte area. Go for the biscuits and gravy. Or maybe one of their enormous omelettes! My whole family was very pleased with everything.

Great Breakfast on the Street Patio

Had a great breakfast/brunch in wild flower season . Had a Southwestern Eggs Benedict with chorizo,Spicy green chili sauce & home fries. Very tasty and different. A large Bloody Mary was also very good , loaded with veggies , celery , olives. Reasonable priced.

McGill's restaurant - great lunch spot

This is a great lunch spot. My wife had a breakfast plate and I had a cheeseburger with onion rings. Large portions, great food, cool atmosphere. The only negative is that service gets a bit slow when they are busy.

Breakfast

While visiting crested Butte we had breakfast at McGill's twice. It is a pretty small place and you may have to wait. They have a good selection of breakfast items and beverages. Service like everywhere else depends on who you get. The first time we went we felt a little neglected, the second time. We had much better experience. Food is very good and they did accommodate a couple of menu changes by my wife. It fills up pretty fast after opening and if you can get there early it is a good move.
