The meal was great and the atmosphere was engaging. Our meal was accompanied by a wonderful strolling accordion player named Susan who took requests and made our evening a most enjoyable one. It was a good way to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary.

We stumbled upon this restaurant quite accidentally and were happy to find German fare in Colorado Springs.
The restaurant is very quaint. Seating was spread out due to Covid separation but felt warm and inviting. The menu has all the classic German offerings. They also have a wide selection of beers and ales.
They took our order and immediately brought delicious hard-crust bread for the table. Our order came quickly and it was one of the best meals we have had in Colorado Springs. Everything was very authentic and delicious.
If you like German food and want a place with good atmosphere, this is the place to go in Colorado Springs!

A group of 4 ladies met here for lunch, and we were seated beside the fireplace, along the East windows. Our server brought baskets of rolls to the table immediately after we were seated. We each ordered different items (I ordered red cabbage as a side dish and a cup of the beer cheese soup), and we were all pleased with our dishes. The atmosphere is nice, and our server was very attentive. I had not been here in several years, and was pleased to find the quality of food is still good. The road construction nearby is a bit confusing, but getting to the restaurant was easy enough (despite the Road Closed sign-local traffic only). There were only a few cars in their parking lot.

Went to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We made a reservation and right off the bat were informed multiple times that we could have the table for only 1.5 hours. Totally understandable during these times of COVID. With only half your tables to fill you gotta keep em moving. However, after we ordered drinks and an appetizer
the appetizer was on the table in less than 5 min, along with the dinner salads brought at the same time. No sooner had we eaten the appetizer but the entrees were plopped in front of us. Food was good but not great. The red cabbage was very saucy; almost gelatinous. The spatzle was good. The jagerschnitzel was average. They kindly brought my husband out a free dessert for his birthday which was a cream puff swan; but the cream was not at all sweet unfortunately. I ordered Black Forest cherry cake which was very good. The whole dinner, meant to be a relaxing birthday celebration was over in less than 45 min. Far too rushed to really enjoy it unfortunately.

Food: 3 star.
Dinner was fine but not worth what we paid for it. The Cherry and Apple Strudel was great!
Service: 1 star, since less can’t be given.
While on an extended family vacation, our group of 14 got takeout from this restaurant. My family of six’s bill totaled $190 including tip. We did not discover until we got back to our cabin, 40 minutes away, that one dish was missing. Because of distance and horrible cell service, it was two days later before I was back in the area to go in and let them know. I spoke with a manager who even after showing her the receipt said she couldn’t refund me for the missing item because “how did she really know that it was even missing?” After taking my info and address she said the best she could do was tell the owner the next day and that they possibly would mail me a check for the cost of the dish. I was very calm and polite but told her I didn’t like what she was saying but understood her hands were tied and left. When my brother-in-law found out, he called and told her that our whole group had spent close to $500 and that he wasn’t impressed at all with the response I got. She said she didn’t know that this would turn into “such a big deal” and that it was “only $16.95” so she would have the owners mail me a check, something she didn’t have the authority to say not 15 minutes prior. If you decide to dine here, save yourself a headache and don’t do takeout.

For a restaurant with stellar reviews and being placed within 5 minutes of mansions, you’d think the service would match that. So starting with the first impression, the design is very old school Germanic along with a menu and general embrace of the German language, and it’s really awesome to see that.
So the problem, I’ve never been to restaurant where they served bread without utensils or personal plates at the very first phase of service. So, conveniently nearby our table was plates which we made use of without the server. Similarly, we provided ourselves with to go bags for our leftovers.
We had two kids with us and knowing how they don’t sit for long, we figured we’d rather not spoil other guests stay for a lack of trying.
Going back to utensils, when the waiter did provide them, he simply placed the rolls in a pile on the table rather than taking a minute to properly pass them around like a proper waiter should.
Food wise, the food was good, no complaints. The quality and presentation are fitting for the cost and setting.
In the end, I really would not like to give a sub-par review for what is likely a lapse in service, but I don’t like being passively insulted by a waiters lack of effort. I like giving business to authentic and unique restaurants.

I enjoyed an incredible meal via takeout the day after Thanksgiving. The food was ready on time, complete with rolls, butter, and plastic ware. The portions were hearty, as one would expect from German cuisine. The menu was authentic and the food did not disappoint. I enjoyed the the bratwurst appetizer, Jagerschnitzel dinner with a German salad, and apple strudel for dessert. This restaurant is a bit pricey for regular dining, but definitely worth the special occasion dinner.

Excellent spot for authentic German cuisine, add to this a great selection of beer on tap as well as a vibrant atmosphere and you have a top tier restaurant. I wholeheartedly recommend Abby as a server, who I left my beer selection to, she did not disappoint. If you enjoy anything That has to do with Germany then you are picking your own pockets if you miss this opportunity.

Many things bothered me about having dinner here. The background music was aggravating, the interior decorations were old and dated, the veteran waitperson was overly instrusive and a bit off. I would give 3 stars but the food was sensational. My German version of pork tenderloin was uniquely seasoned and cooked to perfection. The before entre' plate had a variety of items including a unique German potato salad. The dinner was expensive but the wine was priced fairly.
A mixed experience for sure. If it is still in business try the Edelweiss in Hazel Dell Washington. Great food and a much more fun atmosphere.

This is a great place to eat! The atmosphere is wonderful! We sat outside on the patio and it was beautiful. The food and service is great. We were there for dinner and they gave a child in our group a dish that was on the lunch menu because the child preferred it. Definitely would go back if we are in the area again.

The food was wonderful, the atmosphere was wonderful. Our waitress was fantastic she took her time to explain what everything was and made suggestions based on what we liked. This is in my opinion an ABSOLUTE MUST for Colorado Springs dining!

Beyond our expectations! Ambiance is very appropriate; authentic, fun & friendly. Our server was new. She was excellent. Her trainer was there and helped explain in detail any of the dishes that we inquired about.
We started with the 3 types of sausages. OMG were they scrumptious! They were served on sauerkraut and accompanied with 3 varieties of mustards.
We ordered 5 different dinners for our family. Each was unique and delicious. They were large, generous portions.

We had Christmas Eve dinner here and WOW! I highly recommend reservations (especially for holidays) because this is a popular place and very affordable. We each ordered an authentic German meal and while both of our dishes were excellent, I have to say I could have eaten 2 lbs of the homemade potato salad… seriously, it is the best potato salad I’ve ever had! We were even serenaded by a live accordion player. I’m gluten free and so there were not a lot of dessert options for me, but those who are not gluten free NEED to save room for dessert. Their desserts looked amazing! Service and ambiance were on point as well.

I don’t normally eat German food so I found what I ordered to be too rich for me. Others in our party enjoyed sitting outside and having the beer flight and other traditional dishes. I enjoyed the sausage appetizer and my husband got a type of pasta dish stuffed with meat that was very good. I got the Rouladan (?) and nobody liked it despite the waiters recommendation. Desserts very good. Fun atmosphere.

We gave this place a try for carryout since dining in options are closed for COVID currently. Ordering was easily done from their website and delivery is also an option with them using Grubhub. We ordered 2 wienerschnitzel entrees for dinner that came with potatoes, and fresh veggies of carrots, squash, and zuchinni. A german salad blend and rolls were also included in the meal. The only drawback to the food was the taste of the schnitzel was overly bland compared to authentic schnitzel I was expecting in my head for taste.
