Our group had a task assigned by a study we were doing together: try a new culture and new cuisine. I had been to an Ethiopian restaurant on the east coast and enjoyed the really different foods and flavors there, so I suggested Uchenna so the others in the group could experience them. This is a little family-owned place in... More

I would have not even considered this place if it was not for trip advisor. The restaurant was tucked away in a corner of a strip mall. The decor is very casual. We were a little hesitant going in but when we saw they had quite a few customers, we went in. I had the lamb alecha and it was... More

We were initially hesitant to try this restaurant with 4 children, but so glad we did. We had a great experience with very tasty meals and a staff that made you feel like a part of their family. I would definitely return in the future.

We arrived within a half hour of closing . The owner was inhospitable and unfriendly interrupting us and seemingly offended by our basic and innocuous questions about the food which was unfamiliar to us . Based on that alone would not return . Maybe she was having a bad night but was very uncomfortable for the party .

This little restaurant is one of my personal favorites in Colorado Springs. It's located right along Old Colorado City, where there are lots of neat little places to check out and enjoy (Sweet Elephant across the street is a cute little winery and coffee shop also). After checking it out, this is a great spot to grab lunch or dinner!!... More

Never had Ethiopian food before and was excited to give it a try. The staff is very friendly and serve very tasty food. It's fun to eat with your hands using their unique bread. If you are up for a tasty adventure, give this place a try!

The owner, Mya was wonderful! She explained the food, how to eat with the bread traditionally, and even gave us samples of the teas. The food was amazing and in large portions. The price was reasonable and the atmosphere gave us the cultural experience with music and decor. We will definitely return in our upcoming visit.

A couple of nights ago my husband and I ate our first - of what will be many - meals at Uchenna. I wanted to try something different, we chose Ethiopian, and had a delicious meal; fun, too, as we ate with our hands. Service was perfect with the owner's daughter graciously giving us the one-two of Ethiopian food and... More

Amazing food and service. Owned by a very kind family! They have a really great Gluten Free chocolate dessert cake. Also the entrees are very healthy.

This is a great little find! It is tucked away in small strip of shops. The atmosphere is family friendly and unique in its decor. They offer both Ethiopian and Mediterranean food. My son and I opted for Ethiopian and my daughter chose Mediterranean. Everything was excellent! They do not serve beer or wine. The food was fresh and delicious.
