Everything was amazing. You need to make a reservation so they know how much food to make that day. The service was very personal and fun. All of the food was the best I've ever had at an Ethiopian restaurant and I've been to many....If you are looking for a fun, unique experience that you won't find anywhere else in Colorado Springs this is the place to go. We tried the chicken, beef and lamb as well as all of the desserts. All of it was 10 stars!More

Great little place, food was incredible, and the atmosphere was comforting. We spoke with a really lovely woman, I think the owner, and she told us a bit about the culture of Ethiopia. I believe my friend had to make a reservation, I don’t think...they take walk-ins. Definitely worth it whether you’re already a fan of Ethiopian food or trying it for the first time!More

Upon entering the restaurant, we knew that this was special. Maya's greeting had the feel you were family. From the placement of knapkins on your lap, answering and explaining how we would experience the fabulous flavorful food was so helpful. The appetizer Injera Fit Fit...was a flavor bomb and the beginning of our unique dining experience. We had a seafood platter and Doro Wat. We did a little sharig by feeding each other. The last time I did this was at our wedding, feeding the traditional cake to my beautiful wife. We were taught the four finger scoop with the Injera bread to gather up the chicken and / or seafood with lentils . Spiced to perfection, this meal was excellent. We were blessed to step out of our norm to try the Ethopian flavors.More

We ordered take-out during an overnight stay. The food was well-prepared, with just the right spiciness in "mild" and "spicy" entrees. Abundant injera was included. The host was thoughtful in checking to make sure we knew the role of injera in many Ethiopian meals.

BE AWARE NEW PATRONS!!! Not quite sure how this place survives with the extremely low customer service they give. Twice now my husband and I have been turned away from ordering Togo food. This business does not honor the times they say they are open...to and have little regret about it!! The First time was a year ago and it was 7 pm on a Friday night and then tonight my husband walked in at 7:20 and was told no more orders and he said you close at 8 and her reply was that doesn’t matter. Keep in mind they had 6 out of the 8 tables they have in the dining room seated! Also it’s a Friday night!! This is a horrible way to run a business and a despicable way to treat customers!! I’d like to say I’d give them another shot but this makes me feel as if their food might be as mediocre as the employees!!More

Took a family of four including one very picky eater. Food was delicious and highly recommended. Took home leftovers for the next day and it was even better.

Uchenna's is a small, unassuming restaurant serving authentic Ethiopian food, which is really, really good. The owner is an impossibly sweet lady who left Ethiopia to look for success in America. She succeeded.

Their business might be booming but their customer service is horrible. We called today Wednesday at 6:20pm to make an order to pick up and they said that they were not taking orders as they wanted to close early at 7pm today (even though their...website clearly states open until 8pm). Rude and unprofessional.More

One of my sisters met the daughter of Ethiopian immigrants in nursing school, and this fellow student introduced her to her parents' restaurant. So my sister loves Ethiopian food. We just recently moved from the UK into this area, which is a long day's drive...from my sister. In searching around for various things, I discovered this restaurant and was delighted to have the opportunity to try Ethiopian food without having to make that drive. So my expectations were perhaps heightened. ;-) At any rate, my expectations were met. They are only doing takeaway/takeout right now, of course, but when I called in the lady on the phone was helpful and informative about the level of spice in each dish I ordered. My husband went to get the food and couldn't find the place at all. But when he called, she came out with the food so that he didn't have to keep looking. The food was really good! For those who have never had it before, Ethiopian food could be a bit of a shocker (at least the injera bread - teff has a flavour I've never tasted before, and I've eaten around a bit). And unless you specify that you don't want spicy, you'll get your sinuses cleared. But we did order one that wasn't described as spicy, and told the lady that it was for our children, and the spice level was quite satisfactory. And each dish came with a different side of lentils, all of them tasty. We don't eat out often just as a practical habit, but this will be one of our go-to places for when we do.More

I have to say on a Friday night in Colorado Springs I’d expect all restaurants at 7pm would take to go orders. I know the place closes at 8 but to answer the phone and say sorry it’s too late we have customers waiting for...service and then just hang up seems like bad business, not to mention rude!!!!! I get that your foreign so there’s somewhat a language barrier but that’s not very hospitable restaurant service. Super disappointed in this kind of behavior when so many restaurants are struggling to stay open!!!!More

This was a fun place to eat. The staff is very friendly, the food is good and very different from what we normally eat. We had a great time experiencing a little bit of Ethiopia.

There are many restaurants serving excellent meals, but this is only one I've been to where warm hugs are freely added to the menu. Call it intentional salesmanship if you like. I call it uniquely authentic and divine.
