This place has the biggest breakfast dishes I've seen in awhile. My wife and I split a half order and it was the right amount of food. The diner only accepts cash and they have an ATM if you need it. The staff is very informative so be prepared for a lot of information.

I had the pancho vila (a large burrito with marinated steak, french fries [it works!], cheese, smothered in green chile). very good. my wife had the breakfast bowl - a bowl of green chile with a fried egg and bacon, grated cheese (make america grate again?).... We wanted to try something different, so We had breakfast for lunch. This place had a simple menu, i honestly wanted to try everything. Staff was welcoming and very friendly. However, downside was they only accepted cash.

The breakfast burrito will not disappoint. My family took us here for breakfast while on vacation and it was just fantastic. Great atmosphere, food is amazing.

Maybe because it's a "Guy's" restaurant, maybe because they have several "Best of the Best" plaques...But, we weren't feeling it. I had the Merlin's plate. It was potatoes. That's all I could taste, a plate full of potatoes. My husband had "The Thing" which is their signature dish...flavorless. I suppose we could have convinced ourselves it was the Best of... More

Ok,... The desire to go there was driven by the hype for sure. Rated best in springs in multiple categories, Food Network gave then accolades as well. So,... we went. The place is very inviting. open floor, friendly staff prompt service. ( Be advised,... this is a $$CASH ONLY$$ establishment ). If you forget, there is an ATM on site.... More

The Kings Chef Diner was a wonderful discovery on our trip to move our Colorado College student into his dorm. It's definitely a local place--everything is organic, non-GMO, and local. I had 'The Thing', which is a mound of crispy hash browns, mixed with crumbled thick cut bacon, topped with two eggs, topped with cheese and green chili sauce. And... More

I haven't been to KCD, but did see their spot on the Food Network. I make 'The Thing' for my kids all the time. They love it! Be very hungry!

Yes the portions can be huge. It is all so good from the eggs to the potatoes to the French toast and the green chile is so awesome. Plus ample vegetarian items including fake meats. Goofy in the best way and a very happy vibe there and you too will be happy and very stuffed. A must if in COS.

I went here with a group of friends on a Saturday morning, and this place was packed! So be sure to make reservations if you can. I ordered the mini breakfast burrito (trust me, it's enough for an adult) with half and half gravy and green chili. It was a good meal at a reasonable price.
