This is one of the Springs finest bakery/restaurant with excellent value for their reasonable prices. We've tried a number of items and never been disappointed. Service is excellent, menu is plentiful without feeling like you're reading a novel, and they always have a few amazing, unusual creations along with some of your favorites, too. Desserts are fun to share and the staff is very accommodating with extra plates and forks. Make sure you consider taking home a delicacy from the bakery if you don't have room for dessert. Love this place!

We had beef bourguignon and snapper. The beef was excellent, but the snapper was disappointing. It was served in a shallow bowl and was completely submerged in a tomato/kalamata olive/caper sauce. in my opinion it smothered and overpowered a well prepared fish. Service was very good. Deserts are excellent.

We stopped in for a bite after a day of shopping and it was already 8:30 pm. We didn't have to wait for seating but the restaurant was full. We only had to wait long enough for them to clean the table and reset it for us. I am from out of state so I am not familiar with this restaurant. Apparently it is french-fusion cuisine. This is not budget dining. It felt a bit off to me dining in casual wear (top and blue jeans and sneakers) and in a casual atmosphere with $22 chicken entrees and $35-55 steaks on the menu. Many guests were in similar casual attire, so I didn't feel out of place, but with the white cloth tablecloths and real cloth napkins as well as the wait staff dressed up, I felt like I should be dressed up more to match. I ordered a roasted beet "spring" salad and a margherita pizza. The portions were generous and when they say beet salad, they mean "beet" salad! I expected spring greens with some roasted beets and pine nuts, but in reality it was a LOT of beets and some spring greens for garnish. This had a lovely creamy rich cheese in it as well. I think it was goat cheese, but I am not sure. The champagne vinagrette was fantastic. The pizza was very tasty and loaded with cheese. Too much cheese for my tastes, but I did get my money's worth in cheese, I'm sure. I ended up taking half the pizza home. My companion had the french onion soup and the linguini with mussels in cream sauce. This did not come with any side dishes. Everything was a la carte. She and I shared the creme brulee for dessert. It was actually what we had been talking about earlier in the day and how we ended up having dinner there, so we could enjoy the creme brulee. Our meal was slightly over $70 for 2 people and we didn't even have drinks. We both had iced water. The food was good but I'd suggest trying this for lunch instead as the prices are more reasonable. Waitstaff was courteous and our service was good. Oh yes, the creme brulee was great!

We eat at Marigold’s every time we visit Colorado Springs. We prefer to have lunch there-it’s less expensive and more casual (although even dinner is not really “formal”) but get there early to avoid the lunch rush. Excellent sandwiches, the French Onion Soup is superb, and the daily specials often include some really tasty stuff. I can’t remember ever being disappointed with anything I’ve had there. A clean place, with friendly but professional staff.
They have a European style bakery that offers kind of fancy cakes and pastries-I’ve never tried any of that stuff as I try to avoid sweets. But my In-Laws say the bakery items are very good.

Since the change in ownership, the menu is not as French and innovative as it was before. It was great to have the Beef Bourguinon.
Fish and Chips are just not French, neither are the offered pizzas.
No longer are daily dishes such as quiches offered.
There were a variety of delicious soups and now only two.
The Salad Nicoise lack traditional ingredients such as boiled eggs, green beens or haricots verts, tomatoes, radishes. And the vinaigrette doesn't taste house-made but rather from bought from a wholesaler.
The croissants have an ingredient that gives a heartburn.
It has become more of a pricey sandwich place.
If you are looking for a true French restaurant experience, Marigold's is no longer a place with French cuisine.

When visiting Colorado Springs from North Carolina, Marigold Cafe and Bakery are a priority for us. The owner, Gus, is passionately genuine in the care of his guests.
Our party of six enjoyed a variety of the beautifully prepared dishes. The oysters on the half shell were fresh, sweet and expertly prepared. The garlic butter escargot was served nice and hot, and in the traditional French manner. The braised beef short ribs were so tender, the meat fell off of my fork. The mashed potatoes were whipped and creamy, and the large bone-in pork chop with melted Brie cheese was juicy and tender.
The wine and specialty cocktails were delicious and reasonably priced.
You don’t want to pass on the desserts. I had the Hazelnut Torte with chocolate ganache. It was light, moist and tasty. My husband loved the refreshing and delicious White Strawberry Cake.
Our dinner experience was delicious and delightful. We look forward to our next visit!

Ordered from the online menu last night -- great service, ready when we showed up, and most importantly, a wonderful dinner. My wife and I shared the large spinach salad, veal scallopini, plus a half dozen cookies (very large so will last through the week).
Wonderful change of pace for the week and happy to support our local restaurants during this time.

Great food. Terrible service. Waiter was great when we first sat down and order drinks and appetizers. Received them quickly. Ordered our food and received that quickly too and it was downhill from there in regard to the service. There were 6 of us and a party of around 12 that arrived a little while after we did and our waiters lack of attention to us coincided with the arrival of the large party. He never asked us if we wanted another drink order, never came back to fill our water. We actually grabbed a pitcher of it sitting on the window sill, filled our glasses and placed the empty pitcher on our table(as a hint to him) He didn't get the hint. Never apologized. He just took it, refilled it and put it back on the table.!! He continued to ignore us to the point that we didn't think he would come back. The whole time he was continually doting on the table of 12 right next to us. The real kick to the nuts was the mandatory 20% gratuity for parties of 6 or more!!! Total bs when you're ignored he deserved 10% at the most. Most likely never going back. It's a shame too. The food was really good.

We dined at Marigold on a recent trip to Colorado Springs. We made reservations for 5:30 p.m. on a weekday (they open at 5 for dinner) and the restaurant was already full! We ordered the Beef Bourguinon and Veal Scallopini preceded with a spinach which we shared. The entrees were extraordinary and plentiful as was the spinach salad. The wine list was varied and plentiful. The owner was on site and came to our table to introduce himself. After a wonderful conversation with him, he sent over four huge, luscious desserts for us to enjoy and take with us! After dining at Marigold, which by the way is surprisingly located in a suburban strip center, we could see why the reviews are excellent. The menu items as well as the plentiful bakery items (Marigold touts itself as a French bakery) were outstanding. Our server, who had only worked there a few months unlike others who had been there 12+ years, was very personable and efficient. Loved the meal and will return when in Co Springs.

My husband and I are frequent guests at Marigold Cafe. We prefer to go there for lunch instead of dinner. Service is always great, very friendly. Wonderful baked goods and breads.
However, after seeing on our check the price of a little apple tart that we ordered, I am truly shocked. We are talking a tiny little tart, the size of a flat donut for more than $7 ! Way out of line.

Our go to for just wonderful food. The beef tenderloin was perfectly done. My husband had beef bourgonion(sp) so tender and flavorful . Wine list is fabulous. And oh can we just drool over the desserts. Strawberry whipped cream cake. As a nice touch management sent us home with a few pastries for the morning on several different visits. That’s what I call the added touch .

A culinary jewel set in your typical strip mall. We arrived around 7:00 - 8:00 pm. Had a hard time finding parking whether because of the restaurant or other businesses around there. Entering the restaurant every one was very nice even we do not have reservations. I had French Onion Soup which was very good, but could have used more onions and a touch of Sherry and salt. My wife had Beef Bourguignon which was very tender and had a deep rich brown sauce. I ordered the Red Rock Snapper fillet with capers, kalamata olives, a thin red tomato sauce and roasted veggies. I opted for a side of naked angel hair pasta and fashioned my dish with the pasta as the fish and removed the veggies from my plate. Our server Douglas commented on my transformation of their dish in a favorable manner and vowed to try it himself. He turned out to be a great server, upgraded our wine selection at no additional cost and added a 3rd dessert at no cost to go. Great restaurant, I recommend making reservations and getting there early for best dessert selection and request Douglas as your server.

The reason I like restaurants that are not chains is because I enjoy the creativity and uniqueness that can only be found in a one-off restaurant. This is not that restaurant. The menu is very typical with no obvious innovation. Lunch is soup, salad, or sandwich. For lunch I had the Reuben sandwich; the corned beef was obviously from a package, not from a baked corned beef. The Thousand Island dressing was not homemade. The french fries however were fantastic! Really crispy and yummy, and I had a hard time not eating them all. The service was okay; our waiter came to our table to take our order, and when we weren't quite ready, it took him at least over 10 minutes to return again. Later in the meal, he offered me a coffee refill, but he didn't return. My friend got the salmon salad, which was also fairly typical, with no unusual toppings or dressing. After the lunch, we did both get a dessert to take home. I got a caramel pecan tart that was very good.

Disappointing meal at Marigold’s. This restaurant has been around for years and deserts and bread are to die for. Lunch was disappointing. The garden salad is small and dull and priced very high for what is a side salad anywhere else. Onion soup was ok, heavy on cheese. Beefy Mushroom and a half of Roast Beef sandwich was the other food and was again average. Bread is outstanding. While other tables were treated as long lost family we were ignored. Long wait for food and again check. Very busy restaurant.

We had a fantastic dinner at Marigold Café and Bakery (French restaurant), one of the best meals that we have ever had. Everything is superb: bread and butter, main courses, pastries, service. The food is to die for! We split appetizers: a napoleon and a Frasier (their version of strawberry shortcake). My wife got angel hair pasta with chicken, and I got beef bourguignon with seasonal vegetables and sautéed mushrooms. We split a dessert: an éclair, and we get two éclairs and two napoleons to go. Everything was perfect!
