We tried everything on the menu and enjoyed them. Beautifully presented and wonderful flavors. We did feel that the bread was slightly too thin to hold all the items on it. Would't want like a Texas Toast slice, but theirs was super thin, but still...delicious.More

At last! A Scandinavian restaurant in Colorado Springs, found in the re-purposed Lincoln Elementary School! Open-face "sandwiches" with rye bread from the nearby bakery, salad, soup, home-made akvavit, beer from the brewpub next door. Fantastisk!

As we have both been in Denmark, my wife for over a year, we had to try SMORBROD as we both remember eating lots of these sandwiches in Denmark. We both enjoyed our lunch and will go back. They are authentic. Lunch for two without...drinks $20.00.More

Smorbrod is a low-key Scandinavian restaurant that serves very tasty, delicate sandwiches. It shares the same ownership with Pizzeria Rustica and Tapateria, both in Old Colorado City. It offers a small but well-chosen wine list and beer, with a house draw from Goat Patch Brewing...Company, located next door. Portions are small, so it's great for folks on a diet. There is music on the weekends, and periodically it puts on wine dinners for a very reasonable price, as do its sister restaurants. Half-price wine night is Tuesday night.More

Smorbrod has become a regular dinner spot for us on Friday or Saturday for their delicious food and great local jazz duos! The seafood soup is FABULOUS! In fact, we’re still working our way through the menu and everything has been yummy! The chocolate cake...is wonderful so save room!!!More

Although not the buffet I remember from childhood, the food was amazing. It's primarily sandwiches, but they offer gluten-free bread for those of us who require it, and the desserts are delicious too! Highly recommend!

Custer, SD. The best scallops I’ve ever had. Who knew?! A very small restaurant in a very small town with a big city vibe. Excellent menu choices, excellent presentation, excellent taste. A Must if you’re ever in the area!

Nice restaurant. Small open face sandwich shop with Scandinavian ingredients. The soup and the Swedish meatballs are also very good. Deserts were fantastic. Nice atmosphere. Good selection of themed cocktails.

Hands down one of the most unique and delicious spots in Colorado Springs. I’ve been a few times— once to cure a hangover (and holy cow, did it ever do the trick), and again because I was craving it so badly. I drove 3.5 hours...from the mountains just to visit. Savory, light, and delicious. Also nice to photograph. Please go and visit! Grab a beer next door, or a coffee from the shop just around the corner. So much happening in that plaza! Smorbrod is by far my favorite spot to snack in COS!More

We're big fans of the redeveloped Lincoln Elementary, so we've been looking forward to checking this place. We were on the early side of the weekday lunch rush, but the service and food prep were really quick once we'd had a chance to read thru...the great menu options. Nice flavor combinations, and a nice break from typical lunch fair. Portions are not large, but they are priced appropriately. Looking forward to returning for dinner and/or the evening jazz events.More

Unique restaurant in that the menu consists of items plated on very thin rye bread with a tasty but small side salad of apple and fennel. However, the construct of the "sandwiches" is interesting and tasty. I'm a fan of cured salmon so this worked...for me. I will say that the price you pay for what you get is a tad pricey. But not by much. I was with a party of 8 and everyone loved what they ordered, particularly the swedish meatballs, which I did not have. Those who ordered cocktails were also quite happy. I had a glass of aquavit, which was infused with pear and elderflower and was outstanding. You don't get a large portion of food, but what you do get is quite good. Bar is slow for drinks. Food also slow as those who ordered the swedish meatballs got theirs well before the rest of us who ordered other items. Timing was totally offMore

Smorbrod, which opened in the summer of 2018 offers fresh, clean food in a modern ambiente. We tried two sandwiches called Oslo (salmon) and Alto (sausage), which were absolutely delicious. A Ginger Beer, which is not a beer at all but a soda, goes well...with it. There is no doubt that the ingredients are super fresh, but the serving size might be a surprise to some customers. On their website, Smorbrod points out that you may want to order more than one item. This is definitely recommendable. The ‘Oslo’, for example, is a sandwich served on a slice of rye bread as thin as a wafer and as small as a cell phone – but yummy it is! Recommendable is their Kladdkaka, a gooey chocolate cake which is not too sweet and is accompanied with whipped cream and chopped hazelnuts. Wonderful food, but, if not pointed out, the serving size will surprise the average American guest.More

We’d never eaten Scandinavian food and were super excited to try Jay’s new restaurant. His commitment to clean ingredients makes his other two restaurants among our top choices for a meal in the Springs. We’ve actually spent our last two anniversaries at the Tapateria and...Pizzeria Rustica. Well today is our 21st anniversary and we again spent it with y’all! And we are very impressed! We had the Swedish meatballs, the herring, the beet-cured salmon, the roast beef, the smoked sausage, the crab, a very tasty merlot, an elephant, the gelato, French press coffee, and the chocolate cake! Yes we are people with large appetites for great food! The portion sizes are just right for more variety. Sharing was fun and the service was outstanding. We will definitely be back and we’ll tell our friends. Thank you for creating yet one more delicious and delightful eating experience. Love! Makara & ManfredMore

There is no other restaurant like this in Colorado Springs. They have a variety of open faced sandwiches. My favorites had the smoked salmon. The food is light but very tasty. They have a nice selection of Swedish cider.
