The shared 20oz center cut filet was cooked to perfection. It was so tender, it could be cut with a fork. Paired with duck fat roasted then deep fried fingerlings, which were both baked potato smooth with a pleasant crispness. Since moving to Co.Spgs., I...have not been excited to dine out. Prime25 is now our dine out restaurant.More

Disappointing,      I reserve a table for myself and my wife at Prime 25 for Mother’s Day. Booking was easy and we viewed the menu online ahead of time. We arrive a little early and we were seated right away. Only half of tables were filled. ...    We noticed right away the prices on the menu did not match the prices online, they were higher. My wife was prepared to order the crab cakes , but they were out. I ordered the aged New York Strip , a ceasar salad and crispy potatoes. My wife ordered the mac and cheese and split the ceasar with me.         The salad arrived and the dressing was very light. After the salad it took an hour before the main entrees arrived. I was close to leaving because the wait had been so long. My wife’s mac and cheese was hot, but I noticed there was no steam rising from my steak or the potatoes. I touched my steak and it was cold. It had likely just been sitting under a heat lamp for a long time. I told the waiter, who took it back and they placed it on the broiler for about 5 minutes.         The steak, which I was told was hand trimmed at the restaurant, was about 1/3 fat and it was not tender. The steak was difficult to cut and not juicy at all. It was cheap cut and not well prepared. I ate what I could of steak avoiding the gristle. They took ten percent off the bill, which was a small gesture.        The restaurant is nicely decorated and has a nice feel to it, but this is not fine dining. I have had better steak at Texas Roadhouse at half the price. I still gave a good tip for the waiter, because it was likely not his fault. More

The food at Prime 25 was fair. The filet steak was pretty good, slightly disappointing as far as flavor (spices, finishing butter). The Caesar Salad was big, yet mostly flavorless compared to any other Caesar Sald I've had. The creamed spinach didn't taste very good,...again, not what I'm used to when comparing to other cream spinach. The consistency was basically puree and the color was bright, almost neon. The service was great. Overall, I would probably look elsewhere for s steak.More

Downgrading my review. Not sure what happened. This is painful to write as we've been here 5 times or so and every single one of those has been an excellent experience. It seems to have come to an end. We went last night and noticed...the following regrettable changes. The food still tasted good but has decidedly dropped in quality of preparation as well. This place feels like a normal chain steakhouse now. In fact Texas Roadhouse has pretty much equivalent food and presentation. For the $300 we paid for two of us to dine, this was the first time it truly felt like it wasn't even remotely worth it. It's doubtful we'll go back as there are still some hidden gems for wonderful food, ambience and experience in the area. For more details, read on. More crowded, it seems like they packed a few more tables in and it lost some of the ambience because of it. No bread for the table. Previously they offered amazing bread for the table but we were informed that they no longer did that as of January and did not even offer as a paid add on. Ok, weird place to cut costs. The old fashioned, normally amazing here, was awful, something you would get if you ordered an old fashioned at chilis. Way too much sweet and grenadine. Just not good. The food - previously every time we have come the food was plated beautifully and was a masterpiece of culinary art both in taste and presentation. They have now opted for much dressed down presentation. Previously the NY Strip Oscar Style was layered with the veggies below, the steak, the lobster and the sauce generously poured over it. Now it is almost as if someone that can't allow their food to touch prepped the plate and everything was by itself in an individual island with the sauce in a boat. Not to mention they appeared very understaffed, which I understand, times are tough, so no ding there. Last note, they took Tiramisu off the dessert menu so if you have previously loved it, look elsewhere.More

I went to Prime because friends had recommended it. However there is a reason they don’t give the prices on their specials…they are $$$$$$$. I went with young adults back from college and we were not impressed. My fish was on the edge of being...cooked, our friends fish had a charred side and the filet for my son had charred edges. We did not complain because we were on a timeline. The special for my son was over 100. I have the money but there is no alert or notification for the resulting bill. The music was strange although the interior was nice. The service was wonderful but I recommend that people go to Bonny and Read, Peppertree or McKenzies.More

Prime 25 "The great Pretender" A much better name and more accurate name for Prime 25 is "The Great Pretender" Beautifull decor and lighting the place looks like a modern swank steakhouse, right down to the chef prominently in view meticulously checking every plate before...being served. Food is plated, picture-perfect the makings of some great photos. When you walk in the door, you think, wow this is going to be good. HA are you in for a surprise. Thus my recommendation for the name "The Great Pretender". Hostess spoke and carried herself was VERY full of herself and aloof. It was Saturday 7:30 pm. This was a birthday/college graduation celebration dinner for my daughter. When making reservations, I made a note of the special evening. Hostess wanted to seat us in the corner of the restaurant at a cramped table. On the other side of the restaurant were open tables that were the best in the house. I told her how about those tables. She actually looked us up and down and curtly said, "those are for people with reservations." I said well, then that means they must be for us since we have reservations. She responded, "maybe you would be more comfortable sitting upstairs". There is a long staircase upstairs where some gosh, awful blaring live music was playing with someone singing off-key. I smiled and said no, thank you. The tables right there will be fine. Again she looked us both up and down and, in a huff, walked us over dropped the menus and walked away. I mean, wow this lady really did not want us in that restaurant. Prejudice is the only reason I can think for her attitude. Whatever that prejudice might be I don't know. We should have left. The waiter took our drink order after being very pushy about us getting a bottle of wine. Then he dissapeared for 30-40 minutes. I finally flagged down someone to find out what happened to him. No one knew, so I asked for the manager. Guess who comes over? lol the hostess. I was shocked that she was the manager. She informed me that our waiter was "fixing the soda machine" and to be patient. Ok, everyone else around us was getting served their drinks and food except us, interesting. The waiter appears, and we order three entrees for the two of us. We like to do that to taste everything we can. An hour and fifteen minutes pass without a person coming to our table. Patrons seated when we were are now finished and leaving while others seated after us were getting entrees. I called the manager again and was informed our waiter was fixing the soda machine again. Lol guess I should have ordered the wine. Lesson learned. Ok, food finally arrives, brought to the table by another waiter. He walks over and tells my daughter "Move the Plate" in a loud commanding tone of voice. She is startled and moves her plate so he can set his down. Hey, buddy use a napkin to carry the plate if its hot. Please dont speak to my daughter that way was what I was thinking but did not say anything. We were famished at this point and started to eat. We had ordered Crab cake, Elk chop, Mallard duck and a filet mignon. Crab cake was an appetizer but came at the same time as the entrees. We were surprised they even remembered the appetizer, we were obviously on the pay no mind list. My daughter and I travel a lot, and our favorite thing to do is feast at a good restaurant. The food was absolutely terrible. Crab cake appetizer was cold obviously had been sitting forever but looked beautiful. I love duck. Even ok duck is great to me. This duck was Horrible. Tough overcooked and slathered in an overly sweet sauce but looked beautiful. Elk Chop was Tough overcooked and flavorless but looked beautiful. Filet mignon was flavorless but looked beautiful. Now remember in plain view is a chef meticulously checking every plate before it goes out. Well, how does he miss that the small potatoes were ROCK hard undercooked? Oh, I forgot, probably because we were on the pay no mind list. Complained to the manager about food, she looked at us with the fakest smile and proceeded to educate me about how duck and elk is cooked and that I should expect it to be a little tough because its game meat. OMG get me out of this place so I can get some food. We did not eat more than a bite each out of the duck and elk. Nothing was taken off the bill but were offered a dessert. I am sure it would look beautiful also, but we were not interested in waiting another half hour for more garbage. I refused the desert and got the check instead. So two and a half hours to be slighted, condescended, chastised, ordered to move plates and made to feel like we were not welcome or belonged from the beginning and overcharged for just plain terrible food. Prime 25 you are truly the "GREAT PRETENDER". There are some fantastic restaurants in Colorado Springs. This is not one of them. Don't be fooled by the great-looking pictures of food on the website like we were. Or maybe you wont be on the pay no mind list like we were and will have a wonderful evening.More

We had a large group celebrating two wedding anniversaries. We were happy we were able to get a reservation. We were initially told they would call us back but we had to call and confirm, no big deal, again happy to have a spot for...our large group. Hostess was very friendly. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and provided prompt service. We ordered several cocktails which were all really good. (strawberry margarita, blueberry mule, moscato and a nice cab.) Service speed was good for a party of our size. As for appetizers, ordered the ahi tuna, which was very good, shrimp cocktail which was delicious. Everyone got a different entree. Elk, pork chops and steak (Del Monico, Prime Sirloin and filet mignon.). All were cooked to perfection and had really great flavor. However, about halfway through my steak I swallowed a long blonde hair that I had to pull from throat. Since my hair is extremely short I knew right away that it wasn’t mine. We informed our waiter who immediately took it to the lady who preps the plates for service. She was likely the culprit. They came and said that they would be preparing a new steak for me. As our party finished their meal, I still waited. The lady brought out the steak and was overly apologetic and admitted the hair was likely hers. (Hairs happen I know. I also know that this wasn’t on purpose.) I proceeded to eat the new steak which was also delicious and of course hairless. The problem came, when they brought the bill. They charged us for another steak!!! We brought it up to our waiter, who said well we had to make him another steak. Really bro? I mean the first one I ordered came with a lady”s hair. It should be understood that replacing that steak with a new hairless steak should not come at a cost to me. I didn’t even ask for my meal to be comped, honestly didn’t even ask for my steak to be replaced. But having to ask for my bill to be corrected should not have been even close to an issue. That was extremely frustrating and for a restaurant of this caliber it should’ve been a no brainer. Ultimately they removed the price of the extra steak from our check. On a happier note they brought us small complimentary deserts as an anniversary treat.More

We were seated upstairs at a lovely table that was in a great location. Our server, Brandon, was personable and did a very good job. Three of us ordered the 8 oz. Angus filet mignon, and they were cooked to perfection. I had requested creamed...spinach instead of green beans (mashed potatoes were included), and the spinach was good. However, it was not warm. One of us ordered the Skuna Bay salmon, and she said it was delicious. Two of us ordered cocktails, and both were a bit different from what we expected. Three of us shared two bottles of a very good Cabernet from Paso Robles. We ordered creme brûlée to share, and it was good but quite cool. We especially enjoyed the ambience. Toward the end of our evening, a good musician performed (at the other end of the second floor). Their prices are quite high, so we were pleased to find that they offered sides with the steaks. The online menu did not reflect that.More
