Prime rib special was very good. Cooked as requested and sides good and hot. Slow and steady crowd and only 2 servers! Impressed with the cooks

To get to Millie's, you have to go through a casino and then upstairs. When you do, you're back in time, to the late 1800's, in a restaurant museum. The time travel doesn't extend to the check, but otherwise, the authenticity made us feel almost...out of place in our modern clothes. The windows look out onto the main street. Breakfast was perfect, and unique. It's not easy to bring uniqueness to breakfast, but Millie's is doing it with their omelets, deep-fried home fries (each one like a tiny French fry cube), and deep-fried French toast with honey butter. I can't remove any stars for having concentrated OJ on the side of a mountain in Colorado.More

We came to Central City for the afternoon on a Saturday. Was shocked to see so many places closed. Only a couple of restaurants were open and one was outside seating only so we popped into Millies. The food was very good we had the...beef stroganoff and the prime rib dinner. We had cocktails too but skipped the dessert. It was a very spaced out restaurant in a big room a few tables. You have to wear your mask till seated. One other couple was there so no atmosphere. We ate then left. It’s so sad that barely anything is open up there. Just a few casinos a liquor store and a couple of places to grab food. Hope the place comes back to life as it’s normally a fun place to go.More

The Victorian decor is charming and the wait staff friendly and attentive. The food was good and we enjoyed sharing the dining room with some of the cast from the opera.

Went to restaurant at 6:45 PM on a Friday night prior to going to the opera. 3 tables occupied, at least 10-12 open. One party waiting. Hostess, in a very unfriendly manner, informed us there would be a lengthy wait to just be seated. Seemed...to be discouraging customers who did not look like casino patrons. Don't know about the food, but I would discourage anyone from patronizing this business.More

Prime rib was tough, waitress had it remade, no manage to be found to talk to. Asked for it to be taken from bill and it was not removed. We will not be returning. Also, it is dark in the place we had to use...phone lights to see menu, avoid losing close to 2 hours waiting for prime rib medium rare and chicken wings to be given.More

It was getting late and we were hungry - didn't want to go to a buffet. Had their personal pizza which was average. The guys working behind the counter were very friendly and helpful.

The Gold Coin is in the Silver City/Blackhawk area. It is about 45 minutes from Denver through the mountains. The area is full of Casinos which sit In an area carved out of the mountains Next to the road. Gold coin has good food and...gambling. You can explore outside along the main street. Before lunching at Millies, we visited the Gold Coin Saloon; which is the primary reason we even entered the casino. We love 1800s architecture, and the saloon is a beautifully preserved historic structure; with original woodwork, cabinetry, backbar, etc. It also has an interesting history;...which the bartender was accommodating enough to provide. We then went on to view Millies; and upon seeing its decor, we decided to have lunch there. This ended up being a fortunate choice. Though few of the materials used are actually vintage; the facility strives for a 1800s ambiance. Our server, KC, (though a bit harried), was friendly, accommodating and attentive. The food was an unexpected pleasure. The fried chicken had a tasty crispy crust, and juicy meat within; and, the prime rib was also well prepared and very flavorful. The accompanying asparagus and baked potatoes were quite nice; and both entrees were amply portioned. (There was plenty left for a later snack). We also enjoyed the raspberry ice-tea. Best of all, both entrees were very reasonably priced. If one is looking for a great meal, at an affordable price; this place is a solid optionMore

Central City does not offer many restaurants other than the ones in casinos. So I asked a shop owner in town about a recommendation, she mentioned Millie's with the remark "I did not hear any complaints for quite a while". So we tried it: it...is on the top floor of the casino and the lighting was to our liking. The setting is nice and comfortable, the food turned out to be well prepared and the portions to big for our appetite. The prices are really reasonable, it makes sense to talk to the waitress/waiter about the food before you order. We got Prime Rib, Fried Chicken Dinner and a small salad - it proved to be too much for us.Had we discussed it with the waitress we would have shared either the Prime Rib or the Fried Chicken Dinner .... Anyway, we will try it again when we are in Central City.More

We weren't in Central City to gamble, just to stroll around and eat. It wasn't easy to find this place among the jumble of casinos lined up along the cute main street, but once we did we settled in to enjoy our lunch. The second-floor...restaurant (above its casino) was about half full, so the wait staff was busy. After we ordered, it took half an hour. Another couple who arrived at the same time we did got their meals way ahead of us and were almost finished eating when our food finally arrived. No explanation was provided as to why it was so late. (We joked privately about how they were flying our fish into Central City from the Pacific coast.) Still, we were happy with the quality, the quantity, and the price. I ordered the fish and chips (fries), which came with tartar sauce, lemon wedges, and a nice little roll. The three large pieces of battered-and-fried cod were as good as any I've ever had and, at $10.50, a bargain compared to other places where I've ordered it. My husband's $13.50 salmon plate came with his choice of a vegetable (he picked corn), plus rice and the same tasty roll. He said everything was good. Not too many chances that we'll be back in Central City, but we'll definitely go back to Millie's if we ever are.More
