We came to Central City for the afternoon on a Saturday. Was shocked to see so many places closed. Only a couple of restaurants were open and one was outside seating only so we popped into Millies. The food was very good we had the...beef stroganoff and the prime rib dinner. We had cocktails too but skipped the dessert. It was a very spaced out restaurant in a big room a few tables. You have to wear your mask till seated. One other couple was there so no atmosphere. We ate then left. It’s so sad that barely anything is open up there. Just a few casinos a liquor store and a couple of places to grab food. Hope the place comes back to life as it’s normally a fun place to go.More

The Victorian decor is charming and the wait staff friendly and attentive. The food was good and we enjoyed sharing the dining room with some of the cast from the opera.

Went to restaurant at 6:45 PM on a Friday night prior to going to the opera. 3 tables occupied, at least 10-12 open. One party waiting. Hostess, in a very unfriendly manner, informed us there would be a lengthy wait to just be seated. Seemed...to be discouraging customers who did not look like casino patrons. Don't know about the food, but I would discourage anyone from patronizing this business.More

Prime rib was tough, waitress had it remade, no manage to be found to talk to. Asked for it to be taken from bill and it was not removed. We will not be returning. Also, it is dark in the place we had to use...phone lights to see menu, avoid losing close to 2 hours waiting for prime rib medium rare and chicken wings to be given.More

It was getting late and we were hungry - didn't want to go to a buffet. Had their personal pizza which was average. The guys working behind the counter were very friendly and helpful.

The Gold Coin is in the Silver City/Blackhawk area. It is about 45 minutes from Denver through the mountains. The area is full of Casinos which sit In an area carved out of the mountains Next to the road. Gold coin has good food and...gambling. You can explore outside along the main street. If you have time and want to taste the Mountains, this is a good tripMore

Before lunching at Millies, we visited the Gold Coin Saloon; which is the primary reason we even entered the casino. We love 1800s architecture, and the saloon is a beautifully preserved historic structure; with original woodwork, cabinetry, backbar, etc. It also has an interesting history;...which the bartender was accommodating enough to provide. We then went on to view Millies; and upon seeing its decor, we decided to have lunch there. This ended up being a fortunate choice. Though few of the materials used are actually vintage; the facility strives for a 1800s ambiance. Our server, KC, (though a bit harried), was friendly, accommodating and attentive. The food was an unexpected pleasure. The fried chicken had a tasty crispy crust, and juicy meat within; and, the prime rib was also well prepared and very flavorful. The accompanying asparagus and baked potatoes were quite nice; and both entrees were amply portioned. (There was plenty left for a later snack). We also enjoyed the raspberry ice-tea. Best of all, both entrees were very reasonably priced. If one is looking for a great meal, at an affordable price; this place is a solid optionMore
